  1. Found this at a local antique shop a few years ago.
  2. Yeah... forgot about that all-chrome Flattie with that gigantic air cleaner! I wonder what they were thinking when they gave that model the green light sometimes!
  3. Trouble is, it's leaning toward more of a Volkrod application at the moment.
  4. For me, it's just the simple enjoyment of turning an idea into a three-dimensional object. That's about it, Vern.
  5. Same formula, though. At least the Black Magic Bleech Wite I bought looks/smells/cleans the same as the Wesley's always did. They might change it somewhere down the line, but for now it's the same stuff.
  6. Where do you think I got the idea....?
  7. The same policy applied to factory concept cars.... but a few of those managed to escape the crusher...
  8. Nice! That three-window model has a weird chop and a terrible stance from the factory, and I like the earlier style you reworked it to over the mid '90's street rod it originally depicts. Only thing I'd have done different would be to trashcan the small block Chevy.
  9. Think I found the engine for mine... Fujimi Porsche 356 Carrera 4-cam.
  10. Not sure what I am supposed to be laughing at- looks like a fantastic job so far.
  11. What scale is the kit, out of curiosity?
  12. And if you want to lose the molded-in headlamp lenses and the divots molded into the grille mesh patter for the front mounted lights, the Monogram '59 Eldorado piece will fit with minimal fuss.
  13. Lack of foil aside, the rest looks very nice! Once it's foiled it'll be a real looker.
  14. Agreed. They weren't great on gas, they weren't very powerful, but if you wanted hundreds of thousands of miles of trouble-free service, a Ford 300 is the way to go. Tom, not sure how 'purist' you'd like to keep this, but I'd vote for leaving the wheels brown. I rather like them that color. You could say this was a retired unit, and the private owner decided to paint the wheels brown as a personal touch.
  15. '29 A roadster, built totally from spares....
  16. For me, if I the subject 'gets' me, I build it. Period. Sure, I have my likes and dislikes, and there are certain genres and car manufacurers I favor above all others, but if I see something I like, I'll get to modeling it eventually. Sometimes I'll even buy a kit of a subject I'm not too wild about just to see what all the fuss over it is about, and oftentimes, I'll build that kit in accordance with my tastes. And this doesn't just apply to auto models- I've built everything from a Batman Batwing, WWII battleships, a Star Trek model or two, and a Ford Tri-Motor plane.
  17. Gimme a Pintera, please... Better still... gimme a new-tool Pinto! Yeah, yeah... not gonna hold my breath..
  18. This officially went from (on a scale of 1 to 10) about an 8 to a solid 14.5 once the Deal's Wheels parts entered the picture.
  19. No shiny for Chuck this fine but windy Saturday...
  20. 'Ere she is, as of today...
  21. Ride height looks acceptable given the 1965 pics, but gawd those tires still look awful!
  22. Just wondering- has anyone purchased (or better yet, used) this transkit? What can you tell me about the casting quality? As it sits right now, about my only reservation about it is having to order from Europe, but if it's a decent enough transkit that might ease some of that feeling. http://www.scaleproduction.de/product_info.php/info/p1581_V-W--DoKa---CrewCab-.html
