  1. For me with the Enzo, it's just a simple matter of past experience telling me that 'Revell' and 'Ferrari' don't seem to combine well. All of the Revell Ferraris I've worked with were warped, ill-fitting junk. Maybe a snap version will bear a somewhat less annoying building process.
  2. Meh.... I'm not about to let lack of an interior and a sealed hood foil my fun! Had they introduced such an animal in Bullet Nose Stude form, I'd have several of them with engine and interior detail added.
  3. Fixed YOUR missing apostrophe. You're welcome. Looking pretty cool, John. Didn't you build a drag car similar to this one a while back- Buick body with four engines?
  4. '50 and '51 Speaking of... am I the only one baffled by the lack of a full-detail styrene kit of one? Even if AMT had done one as part of that 'Slammers' series from the '90's I'd have been happy. I mean, hey, the DID kit a '61-3 Rambler American as part of that series... If you aren't intimidated by them being 'kids snap toys' or whatever 'serious' modelers call them and aren't afraid of a little cutting and pasting, they're fun projects.
  5. Okay... at least six guys would like an Airflow. Now, the question becomes, what year? Oh, and Chrysler or DeSoto? At least three of us would like a '37 Studebaker Coupe Express.... and one of those guys has connections. Just need to find several thousand more modelers with similar tastes!
  6. Very cool! Proof you can do something really cool and unexpected with that Black Widow kit.
  7. Harry- we'd probably be the only two, but I'd love an Airflow. Just not in 1:8 scale, though.
  8. RMR kit or Spec Cast model? Either way, soooooooo stoked! Did a test-fit of the 'Vette chassis, Viper engine (with modified Vette bellhousing), and Matador body- It's either going to be fully sculpted, street-rod style underhood or have a couple fully plumbed turbos- looks like there is going to be a LOT of dead space under the hood, even with a giant V-10 stuffed in there.
  9. Just to thow a bit of gas on the early '70's Mopar fire.... '70 300H, anyone?
  10. Killer work, Charlie! My only gripe with your models is we don't see them often enough!
  11. This is how I do it- When you click on the image (the full image) you'll see the 'share' icon at the upper right side. Click on that and you will see a drop down menu. The first selection will be "Image URL for use on other sites:" move your cursor onto the address below that- it should highlight in orange. (If your internet is a bit slow it might take a second.) Left-click on it when it is highlighed and 'Copied' will appear. Then on this site click the Icon button (the square with a tree in it just below the text 'Size' box). When the prompt appears, paste the URL you copied from Fotki into the box and hit OK, the image should immediately appear in the post editor. (Again, might take a second for it to load if your internet is a bit slow.) Once the photo is in the editor, it should appear in the post. That's how I do it. Sounds like a lot, but the actual process takes about five seconds.
  12. Not sure how unflinchingly '50's the colors may be, but they just look so RIGHT on that Hornet! Once all the chrome trim is applied, that's really going to pop.
  13. Regarding the first part- if you think Revell's kits are so woefully deformed, I refer you to Trumpeter and politely say "Could be way worse". I do see a few trivial hiccups here and there, but nothing that spoils the buzz for me, personally. Second part- now that you mention a '57 Ranchero, I'm a bit suprised they didn't go that route. Seems it's been Revell's business model the last few years to release new tooled kits already covered (or in different body styles, years, or building variants) by older competitor's subjects. Why couldn't they have tried doing an up-to-date version of one of their own (very questionable in this case, quality-wise) golden oldies? Again though, if their new '57 kit does well, I'd love to see a Ranchero spun off that tooling.
  14. Progress looks good so far. Any idea who cast that body?
  15. Weird- I use Fotki, and I've never had any issues like what you describe. The only time I get any problems is when I try to post too many pics on one thread, but in that case it doesn't matter what photo hosting site you are using.
  16. I'd love to see the vintage three wheeler in 1:24. Thanks for jogging my memory on the 1:16 kit, I'd forgotten all about that one. Hey- speaking of three-wheelers, nobody ever kitted a Reliant Robin, right?
  17. I said decent London taxi kit, people. No, sorry, overscale and under detailed won't cut it this time.
  18. That's the way I feel when another '57 Chevy gets kitted! I'm with you though, I'd love to see a '58 Ford done to modern standards. Maybe if this '57 sells well that will be a possibility.
  19. Tamiya and AMT/Ertl both kitted a Jag XJ220. But no kits of anything you could call current as far as Jags, and not a peep out of the modern-era Rolls or Bentley models, before or after the German takeover. There are a couple kits of the new Mini, but many argue that those are German, not British. Oh, and who needs to get killed before we can get a decent London Taxi kit? Huh?
  20. Now that you mention it, yeah- looks like the majority of Europoean car kits in my stash are made by Japanese manufacturers.
  21. Here's the hot rodded 308. No, didn't add the blower like I'd planned, but I still have a few kit engines to experiment on.
  22. Digging that DeSoto grille! The striped Hornet is at a standstill for the time being- I do have the 308 six shown earlier pretty much done. Pics will follow shortly. i dredged up an old AMC V8 from a Rambler kit that might end up powering the Hornet. It's a terrible engine, really, but its least-appealing aspects are pretty much hidden once its down in the Hornet's engine bay.
  23. It's official- Moebius will be getting an even more sizable chunk of my hobby dollars in the (hopefully) not too distant future!
  24. I weigh a bit more than that, and I've used my desk as a step stool more times than I care to recollect. It's all about how that weight is distributed. Or something.
