  1. Oh, I'd also like to get more of the Renwal Revival kits(I've got the Packard... one down, three to go!), several of the '57 International Golden Jubilee promos, and at least one Premiere Studebaker Champ kit.
  2. The good old 440 Magnum, I'd assume. That's what the original kit came with, and it doesn't look like there's any new tooling for this reissue. It's a nicely detailed engine and has the 727 automatic with a separate pan.
  3. (Too busy drooling, rubbing my hands together, and giggling like a little girl to say anything coherent...)
  4. The '69 was cool... but now the '68? Awesome! Are those Satco gold line tires on the '68?
  5. DON'T TEST FIT THE DOORS! The hinges are really frail, and one 'test fit and remove' session can snap them off like nobody's bidness. They look like they'll never fit right until the roof is glued on, or at least taped in place. I'd save instalation of the doors until nearly the end of assembly.
  6. Nope, so I can enjoy a nice, juicy stake (sic) when I'm not doing anything close to a stock build!
  7. It won't be molded in orange! Thank Gawd! Only problem is I've already got enough of the last reissue in my stash to tide me over for at least a decade.
  8. I plan on getting a few more AMT Ford C-cab Stake Bed kits, when extra cash permits!
  9. How about the '72 Gran Torino from... uh.. "Gran Torino"?
  10. YOu might be able to build a model of the '77 Cobra II from "Starman" with the AMT kit.
  11. Just putting it out there- I am in need of the 'zoomie' headers from the AMT boat kit (the one reissued with the '70 Pontiac a couple of years ago)These are the ones I'm talking about- And I'm also in dire need of a pair of Monogram '41 Lincoln wheels, hubcaps, and whitewall tires. I've got stuff to trade- get with me on the details!
  12. The styrene gods smiled upon me this day!
  13. Aw, yeah!
  14. Put simply, an out of box build is... incredibly boring!
  15. , because I can't put it into words!
  16. The end result is worth the misery though, isn't it? Very cool model... and I'm not even a Tri-5 Chevy fan!
  17. I did notice the machined caps on the Merc (very cool, by the way!), and in most cases those would be enough to rule it out as a purely box-stock model. The plug wires on the Chevelle may be a deal breaker for a box stock entry, but again, kind of depends on the show. Should be no problem at all on the Ram. If it were me? I'd just enter them all in the 'custom' class. Better still, I'd just show them, and not enter them in the judged competition at all!
  18. I think AMT did to an XXX branded '67 GTO, but it was little more than a warmed-over retread of the already run into the ground '67 GTO kit. The 'Vette had some kind of trashcan shaped thingie to mount in the side window and a "Skateboarding is a Crime" bumper sticker decal, but other than that, it was just a reissue of the '98 Vette roadster kit.
  19. I'd really like to jump in with that Transit, if it is deemed 'forgotten' enough to suit the spirit of the build off!
  20. Liking what I see so far!
  21. Greg- sorry, cats are fire-resistant. (I'd really rather not get into how I came across THAT little tidbit... ) One of these days I am planning to make up a spit for the MPI, though, along with a hand-carved Hogzilla to throw on it! But that's a ways off, if it ever even does happen.
  22. Not if you're into the 'promo look'!
  23. He must be- he's only been in the casting game for a short time and he's already THIS CLOSE to attaining legendary status!
  24. Minor progress... I added the headlamps last night, they are from an MPC '28 Lincoln kit and mounted to a scratchbuilt bar.
  25. Just 'guestimating' the distance, I'd say my house and mailbox are way further apart than the lighthouse and boat! And no, I don't use my car to check the mail! Maybe I should- looks like a good way to save wear and tear on the car if you're just using it to traverse your driveway!
