  1. But if I quit talking to myself, I'll be all alone...
  2. The only car ever designed that you could 'train' to roll over like a dog...
  3. I ordered a '51 Nash Rambler Sedan Delivery kit (along with a '51 Buick 'Chopperhead' body) a few months back, and got a bonus Big Boy figure as well! The kit came with two or three extra sets of grilles and headlamp bezels (a fact which saved my hiney later on), and two sets of vacuuformed windows. A few days later, another box showed up... it contained the chassis for the Nash, which he'd evidently forgotten to throw in with the rest! I didn't even notice it's omission (I'd planned to use my own chassis, anyway), and I didn't call or ask him about it... he just sent it along. Can't beat that kind of service!
  4. What's a Crofton Bug? Why, it would be a "Modified 1:1 Reissue" of a Crosley Farm-O-Road. What' a Crosley Farm-O-Road? Oh, come on! Just Google it already!!!! Here we have an almost entirely scratchbuilt 1:25 Crofton Bug, made up of spare parts and scraps of Plastruct left over from various old projects... The body is scratchbuilt, while I robbed a '41 Chevy kit for it's headlamps, cut down a '55 Bel Air grille to make a custom part for the bug, the seats were swiped from a '25 Model T, the steering wheel is from a Ford Courier, the wheels and tires are off a die cast pull back toy, and the rest of the kit parts are, like those masked WWE wrasslers, from 'parts unknown'. And to give you an idea of how small (63" wheelbase) this little guy really is, here it is with a '51 Rambler... ... and a '66 Fairlane...
  5. Or, I could just throw a tarp over the interior...As described in Chapter 14 in my upcoming book "The Lazy Hack's Guide to Building and Detailing Model Cars". I was actually planning on doing that early on, then setting the car up on an AMT trailer to make it look like an old project car. But I've already built 20 or 30 other models just like that! (And I'm running short on trailers...) Truth is, though, I still haven't quite perfected my ripped up seat technique yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to do some shredded, mouse-strewn seats that look convincing soon enough!
  6. No flux capacitor, but I've got an old warp core I can let you borrow! (I'd rather you not ask where or how I got it...) Man, this is one of the coolest rats I've seen in a very long time! I like to pretend the engine runs on pickled tofu residue. I'm going to have to get back to building rat rods here pretty soon!
  7. Is it just me, or is the roof line a bit Karman Ghia-ish from some angles? (I mean that in a good way!)
  8. Couldn't have put it better myself. It's all about the situation at hand, at that particular moment.
  9. It blew off along US-127 back around '95, we went back and looked for it, but it was dark and we couldn't find it! Right... but this model represents a car with an engine, even though it does not actually have one. Kind of like an old Craftsman series kit, you know? And I might actually add an engine later on, so I can weather the engine compartment and engine to match the body's condition. But yeah- I've got a '70 Monte Carlo model somewhere, with the hood hinges standing at attention and the nose way up in the air- just wasn't the look I wanted with THIS particular kit!
  10. Kenny- Another stunner, and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who likes that Chevelle EFI setup. I've used that puppy on everything from the inteded Big Block Chevys to Ford Flathead V8s. Bob- A nice pic of a gorgeous car- that's only the second notch Cuda I've ever seen. Not so sure about those late model F-150 wheels, though...
  11. I love it, but I'm especially amazed at how convincing you made that simplified engine look in the completed model! I'm not a huge fan of late model luxury-sports cars, but after reading the article on it and seeing this post, I might just have to change my ways...
  12. I likes me a beat-up convertible!
  13. I've had my eye on that kit for a little while now. It looks soooo cool as a rat!
  14. I've seen the Revell Hurst/Olds done up as a beautiful replica stocker, converted to a hardtop with an AMT '70 Monte Carlo roof (I've got one of those on the bench myself!), and I even know a local guy who's building one as a pro-tourer. But I've never seen one done as a beater, and since it's been a very long time since I built a full-blown beater, I thought why not use the new Revell Olds kit? Yeah- I probably should have thrashed the interior a bit more, and maybe added a few dents and dings, but for a two-evening build, I am not going to complain too much. Oh- there's no engine- I robbed the 455 for another project!
  15. Same goes for Jeff's IH Metro kit!I only wish there were more guys like Kevin and Jeff out there bringing long-dead resin stuff back to life!
  16. Few things cooler than a full-bodied '70's Ford yacht!
  17. About time!
  18. Couldn't you just tell 'em "Hey, I'm Art freakin' Anderson here!"? If I were an exec at Moebius, that would be reason enough for me!
  19. Nothin' more than good old Krylon Rust Tough Flat Black- my standard flat black of choice for 99% of my projects. Some take it way too seriously... but I will never be one of THOSE guys!
  20. The more of your resin stuff I see, the more I hate being broke! Very cool build of a very cool truck.
  21. I like that idea too, but the booklet would be a real boon for modelers who still don't have full-time 'net access, and besides, it would just be a cool thing to have.
  22. Not sure... just some nasty old Rustoleum Semi Gloss rattle can stuff I had handy.
  23. I keep telling myself I've got to do a 1:8 scale model one of these days... more of this and I'll be totally convinced!
  24. Here we've got a quick simple 'time killer' build up of an old Jo-Han oldie- the '60 Plymouth Wagon kit. I added a few parts box bits to it, added the inner fenders from a scrap AMT '57 Chrysler body (the kit has no inner fenders- the engine bay is wide open!), replaced the Lego block engine with a 413 from an AMT '49 Merc, and basically just tried to build it with as little effort as possible.
  25. Funny... I was working on another model Scout model based on a similar thought (minus the Transtar stacks, though). All I'll say is stay tuned...
