  1. Uh-oh... mine only has "kill"...
  2. Ah... great old stock cars back from when the Buick name stood for something! I'm not sure what, but it did stand for something then. No wonder these kits are still sought after so long after they were last discontinued!
  3. I just went in and looked at my settings, and it appears the only posts you can be notified of via e-mail are the posts in personal messages. I don't see any ways to activate an e-mail notification for responses to a thread on the public forum. I think the only way you can get an e-mail if your forum post is if you click 'watch this topic' and ask for e-mail notification there.
  4. Do you mean replies to posts or personal messages?
  5. No idea. Maybe it's like crack to them?
  6. Two words... Federal Bailout. Worked for the 'Big' three, why not the little three? Who needs advertising when you have a federal loan?
  7. Inspiration behind these three? I do like the '40 Edsel immensely, though!
  8. To go back to something that Art was saying earlier about hats and rooflines... remember the ugly, bolt upright postwar Mopars? One of the things K.T.Keller said in their defense was "The styling won't knock your eyes out, but it won't knock your hat off, either." Then, of course, Chrysler went on to produce some of the swoopiest and lowest-slung designs of all time!
  9. Killer model, as always, John! I especially like the fact this Chevy is being towed by a Ford!
  10. Was that kit the same junky old relic from the Model King Car/Trailer/Boat release from a few years back...? Wow- killer job!
  11. That message has been on the Perry's website for as long as I've been visiting their page! Good greif, guys!
  12. Right! That's kind of why I had the 'mere' part in front of 'modeler'! Sure, a Wingrove isn't operable, but to look at one, you're kind of bummed (and a little shocked, even) to realize it isn't! By your 'non-fuctioning representation of something' defenition, any of several of my past 1:1 vehicles could be considered models!
  13. Yeah- since the stock Hudson roof kind of looks chopped already, I thought I needed something a bit more obvious!
  14. First things first, this is NOT a totally stock Pace Car, it has some chrome doodads stuck to it that don't come standard with the Pace Car, but mostly we're all good. This rare bird was on display at Carl Rummer Chevrolet-Buick in Ithaca, after they swiped it from the legendary Berger outfit in Grand Rapids- http://public.fotki.com/ChuckMost/11-reference-pictures/2010-camaro-pace-car/ And as a bonus, here's a 'plebian' SS model from the same dealer- http://public.fotki.com/ChuckMost/11-reference-pictures/2010-camaro-ss/
  15. The Hudson might make a really killer sled... I might need to stock up!
  16. I know what you mean. That's why I don't consider Gerald Wingrove a mere 'modeler'!
  17. Mark Jones? Chopper Lear? I think I forgot to mention those guys earlier.
  18. Didn't know Winston was no longer with us.
  19. Wow! Very realistic- if it weren't for the background stuff you'd think they were 1:1!
  20. Looks to be on the passenger's side, just beneath the alternator in the photo. But, this is a '65 engine, and I think the Olds V8 underwent a few changes in '64. The location seems correct for the earlier engines, but I've had more experience with the late '70's to mid '80's versions of the Olds V8 (the doggy 260 and 307 versions) so I cannot profess to be an expert!
  21. All AMT and MPC kits had female wheel fittings- either to accept a metal axle or a plastic stub axle. That is, except for the AMT/Ertl Lexus LS 400, which was actually an Aoshima kit in an AMT box. All the Jo-Han kits I've ever built have had female wheel fittings, for use with a plastic axle.
  22. You HAD to ask this mere weeks after I got rid of a 1:1 example of an Olds 330, didn't you? Maybe I ought to start photographing stuff before I unload it, just for these occasions!
  23. It may be a flawed kit, Bob- but I must say the end result looks pleasing enough. And yeah- the white is a nice change from the 'standard' red in which 99% of all Ferraris in every scale are finished. Strangely, I think red is the worst possible color for a Ferrari!
  24. Awesome. Neat use of spares for the amp and subs!
