  1. Careful when you go to paint it- some paints will eat foam. I'd reccomend acrylics.
  2. Nick HAS been improving by quite a bit, and I'll say that he's a better builder at his age now than I was when I was 20. Sheez- I've been building models for 22 years (since the ripe old age of six) and I'm improving and learning new stuff constantly. Imagine where Nick will be when he's 28, if he keeps up his current pace and pushes himself go get just a little bit better with every build!
  3. I'd have bought the kits. AND the can of paint.
  4. Yep- they came from the AMT '58 Impala.
  5. I could agree, but those wheel covers you see in the photos may be temporary.
  6. Yes, she's available with or without the over the shoulder boulder holders, but for some reason, the topless one is the only one pictured on the site. Wait, I guess I probably KNOW the reason! The 'decent' Double Dip Deb is virtually identical to the topless one except for the top.
  7. They are pretty rare any place I guess, but I know of four in my immediate area- and I live about a mile north of the middle of nowhere. The sad thing is, two are '61/'62 models with the freestanding headlamps, and the guy is just letting them rust away under some trees.
  8. Looks way better than my hardtop build!
  9. That had to be a rare car over on the other end of the Atlantic! And a real joy to fill up!
  10. My god, what have they done... it's uglier than a Zimmer!
  11. Yeah, I was thinking orange over black, or yellow over black, but I just went with School Bus Yellow all the way 'cuz I'm a lazy oaf!
  12. Nope- it says Metro. I couldn't have made the letters that nice and in scale! I was going to BMF the letters, then paint and polish the paint off the letters, but I forgot and had to foil them after paint, and I SUCK at cutting stuff like lettering!
  13. Today's Haul, pretty light compared to the usual. Aoshima '95 Toyota 4x4 pickup Tamiya BMW Z3 and a busted up builtup MPC '32 Chevy Panel (Oh, yeah ...) Oh yeah, and the new issue of MCM!
  14. This would be the Motor City Resin Casters kit, with a few hot-rod touches-
  15. A man had just done a transaction with a woman of the evening, and they'd walked off onto a dark, woody trail to consummate the deal. As they were going at it, a policeman found them and shined his flashlight on them. "What are you doing, sir?" The officer asked the man. "I'm making love to my wife." He replied. "Oh," the officer replied sheepishly. "I didn't know that." The man responded "Yeah, neither did I until you shined that light in her face."
  16. Cool conversion! Makes me want that alleged Revell Cutlass even more!
  17. A man was getting ready for bed, when he peeked out his window and saw that the light was on in his gardening shed. As he thought to himself how forgetful he was and to go shut it off, he noticed there were two shadows in the shed, rummaging through the shed. He picked up the phone and called the police. "I have two burglars ransacking my shed!" he told the dispatcher. The dispatcher responded: "I'm sorry sir, but all of our units are busy. Just sit tight and we will send out an officer when we can." ""Okay..." the man groaned, and hung up. A minute later, he called back. "Yeah- I'm the guy who called about the two men breaking into my shed. Well, you don't need to worry about it now, because I just shot and killed both of them." Within five minutes, two patrol cars, a SWAT van, a helicopter, two fire trucks and an ambulance were at the scene. The two burglars were caught and arrested. As they left, one of the police officers turned to the home owner and said: "I thought you said you shot them dead!" The man replied: "And I thought you guys were too busy to come out!"
  18. "I heard that loud and clear!" said my 74th alternate personality.
  19. Slap on that cold air intake and break 'er in, Harry! Or loan Harold the money. I'm sure he'll pay you back. Eventually.
  20. Dunno... if I had $2500K, I think I'd hold out for a similar vinage Lincoln Continental. But sheez- I'd be happy with one of these!
  21. Nope, he appears too busy driving an open Bentley in the snow. (Judging from his avatar...)
  22. But, three bucks was, like, a year's salary back then! And they had to march barefoot across red hot broken glass uphill both ways to get to work! Or so says my Uncle Seth.
  23. A 'spring over' conversion? That would work too.
  24. Oh... and with all the windows down, and the A/C just a ba-LASTIN'! (And with the parking brake partially engaged.)
  25. I would. And I'd make all sorts of unnecessary trips, and take the longest route with the most stops possible! Heck, they used 'em as daily drivers back then...
