  1. Just a couple more...
  2. Can't say I've ever seen this done to the '41 Plymouth before! Nice. Kind of like an upscale version of the Powell pickup!
  3. I'm both a modeler and an IH truck fanatic, so when I found out R&R did a resin kit of one (based off an old promo) I just had to give it a go! The kit has about ten total parts, and you have to scare up your own wheels, tires, axles, steering wheel, and headlamp lenses, but I managed to get this one toghether in about two days. The casting seems pretty rough, and it is, but the parts fit suprisingly well. Any who... here she is!
  4. That is killer! Who'd have thunk a logging truck that barely dwarfs a quarter!
  5. I'd never call the '49 Merc 'bland'. Maybe 'overly familiar'. I have to say that Lavender paint really looks good on your Merc- you'd get some chicks with this thing!
  6. It's been getting way too serious around these parts lately. Let's have a little fun, huh? For those interested, it's a die-cast Kinsmart pull-back toy in 1:34 scale- the driver is a modified Italeri 1:35 scale Russian military figure. The Prius toy costs about five bucks at your local Rite Aid.
  7. I'd have rather seen a Potvin huffed Ford FE, but still, this works well!
  8. Oh there are plenty, Moebius itself included! The Lonestar, the Chrysler, and the Hudson, put me down for two of each please! Now if somebody would just release a first generation Scout or a pickup/Travelall of ANY body style...
  9. Unlike that other guy... what's his name? Andy Martin? I hear he's some kind of aardvark, or something.
  10. The Dollar General stuff is perfect for what you are describing! One instance where going cheap comes with a rewarding result! And the Caddy looks killer, as well!
  11. Mine had body color tanks, I stole some plated ones from an Ertl IH Transtar conventional.
  12. I've been waiting for this one!
  13. I bought an AMT '60 Starliner (the round 2 reissue), and the new reissue of the '51 Chevy drop top. I also ordered a Jimmy Flintstone '51 Buick body, '51 Nash sedan delivery, and an R&R '56(? looks more like a '57 to me) International pickup. Still waiting for the esteemed Mr. Jeff Ballard (wonder if he's related to Bob?) to send the International Metro. AND- I got a pair of new front tires for the front of my car. Huh. No wonder I've got serious money trouble!
  14. It appears you are correct, Ken. I bought some stuff from JF today and paid via Pay Pal, and the name "James Coulliard" appeared. Huh. "James Coulliard". Sounds rather dignified, does it not?
  15. Sheesh- and I think the one hour there one hour back haul to Dean's out in Flushing is a pain...
  16. Seriously.... is that the dude's real name? Okay, maybe James Flinstone. But really, I'm curious!
  17. While picking parts off an early 80's Le Baron ragtop for a buddy of mine's car, I found an old Igloo cooler in the trunk with a compass (the drawing circles kind), three pocket bibles, several Swisher cigars still in the cellophane (but still looking pretty gross), a resin puppy figurine, two identical pairs of reading glasses- one pair with a lens missing, a strap from a sandal, a very old copy of Women's Health... and a pair of thong underwear. The other stuff I can see being in the old cooler in the trunk of an abandoned car, it's the thong that kind of messes with ya... I don't even want to talk about the '73-ish fullsize Dodge Hardtop with the trunk full of severed deer parts...
  18. First Scale Skoda I've ever seen! I like.
  19. I want one!!!!
  20. Oh yes! Those wheel rims are fragile as glass when you try to install them. I sanded the inside lightly to help- just take care not to smoosh the rim while you sand it! I don't get why the wipers are molded in place, when most everything else on the cab is separate. I didn't notice the too-tall headlamps until Tim's write-up, either. Still, I stand by what I said- it's a good kit!
  21. Call me a glutton for punishment- now I'm planning on a second one, with the hood cut open and one of Ken Kitchen's Buick Straight 8 engines stabbed in the thing. Huh. Wonder if I think of it as a 'quick one year project' if I'll get it finished in a weekend?
  22. Nice one, Steve!
