  1. I usually start from scratch, but if I screw up enough times, I'll just trace out the main elements to the car from a photo.
  2. Roger's right- the Monogram Bronc is the only scale Traction Beam setup- though you could always go the sraight axle route, or make your own Traction Beam front end. I'd rather have the straight axle- I never did care much for the Traction Beam suspension on my '81 F-250.
  3. That's Sgt. Stiglitz to you, buddy!
  4. I'm not sure its nearly as crusty and rusty as a camper that old should be!
  5. Spyder the Interrogator! ;) You could make it part of a body shop diorama.
  6. Art... I think you just gave my my next idea for a model!
  7. Whoa... some weird weather patterns across the pond! I hope no one was hurt! Let me know if it ever rains Shelby Cobras!
  8. Return the favor to whoever 'stuck' you! (Then get to crackin' on that Stratos!) Harold- You ought to build the abandoned Sunoco next to Dean's! I used to take leaks there all the time!
  9. I've seen guys use old box fans. I steer far clear of those knuckle-draggers. That seems just tempting an explosion to me, and I really don't want to be involved in an explosion! Life may suck... but the alternative is unacceptable.
  10. Beetles are awesome. Floppers are awesome. How can you lose?
  11. Today's Haul... Man,had a little trouble getting "all the kids in the picture" this time! Top row: (L to R): AMT '32 Phanom Vicky, Gunze Sangyo '56 VW Beetle Middle row: (L/R): Monogram F-350, Lindberg-Model King Triumph GT6+, AMT American Hot Rod Mustang GT, AMT '25 Model T. Bottom Row: Revell '32 Ford Roadster W/Diecut McDonalds', AMT Double Dragster (yep... bought another one, tin box and all!), and an MRC Texaco station! I also picked up a bunch of discounted rattle-cans... All the kits came from Dean's Hobby Stop except the Double Dragster, which I bought from Hulings Hobby House. I also got a new tire on the car, but didn't take a picture of that. Hope nobody's too disappointed by that!
  12. Hot diggetty! Trouble is, I can't bring myself to perchase anything with Martha Stewart's name smeared all over it like so much feces , but if it's equavalent to the more recognized flocking out there, it may well be worth a shot!
  13. I don't know, as the owner of a '94, I find myself insanely jealous of the owners of '99-up Super Duties. I want a truck that looks portly and overstuffed!
  14. DAN! This is the MCM Forum, not the Penthouse Forum! (And yes... I've been waiting years to say that to somebody. Sad, really.)
  15. I always thought Tamiya did a 4-door Beetle kit, and I've been looking for them for a while. If I'm not mistaken, that other 4-door beetle I saw was built by a Finnish modeler as well. I think a 4-door Beetle is to nutty NOT to love!
  16. Ah... yes! The salt technique! I swear by it! Well, sometimes I swear AT it, but still, 99.99999% of the time it never fails me!
  17. I built this Maisto '99 F-350 back when the kit first came out, and I do believe it's the oldest surviving model I have. Mostly because my dad has it, and keeps it in a display case with all his Danbury diecasts! It's box stock other than the decals, from the original issue of the Revell '41 Chevy pickup. It's not the greatest kit ever (even by late '90's Maisto standards), but I like it simply because it's a Super Duty! Eleven years, where'd they go? Eleven years, I don't know!
  18. I know... but I've got some catching up to do with the snow removal!
  19. I hate shoveling snow, and I love having old, crusty mechanical devices laying all over my property. Huh... looks like I killed two birds with one stone here... It's a Massey Ferguson Model 12 garden tractor, which I traded for that nasty '46 Chevy dump truck I was going to build into a rat rod! Oh, and in the first photo you can see my other MF... the Ski Whiz sled, which is currently running! (But still needs a little work.) Massey Ferguson- the most destructive and deadly force to emerge from Canada since Celine Dion! Now, I'm thinking I'll need to scratchbuild a 1:25 model of each of these!
  20. Yeah, it is a touch depressing. If it makes you feel better, here's one from the same yard that is going to be sold whole- Who knows... maybe parts off those other two will help keep this one on the road!
  21. Man... I LOVE it!
  22. Spent a little time at the junkyard today, and spotted a couple of old COE Transtars on the lot. Maybe this will make you want to dig out one of those old Ertl kits you have stashed away!
  23. Liar! Liar! What a great couple they make with Chrysler, huh!
