  1. Thanks guys- I've been thinking of trying it to make puddles in a junkyard display I'm planning.
  2. I've heard it takes a fairly long time to dry- any truth to that?
  3. I was thinking you could scratchbuild a new door out of metal or plastic, then I remembered you were going to go with polished plastic for the body. Looks like it's too short and warped a bit! Yikes! The window frame shouldn't be tough to fix. I'd imagine you could cut the base off one and reattach it with solder, or whatever method you prefer to join metal. That door thing would have me perplexed, as well! Funny thing is- I always thought Pocher kits had metal bodies!
  4. These old rail kits are a pain to wring a decent replica from- but as you've shown it can be done! It may not be perfect, but it's still nicer than any of the rails I've built. Or should I say, tried to build, gave up on, and stuffed into a box in the darkest corner of my attic!
  5. Just read the box a bit more carefully next time you see an 'old favorite' from Round 2. I believe it says 'this kit builds the stock version' or something to that effect. If you see no mention of the custom or drag parts, scan the online auction sites for an older issue, which you can probably buy for less than the new, decontented version anywho!
  6. Does a late '40's Reo Deuce and a half count? There's one on my property, but it doesn't belong to me. Yet.
  7. Not that I'm aware- though I'd think you could cut down the Electra body and modify it to use as a Wildcat.
  8. Dave... that's a great idea! As far as I know, that kit was only issued once- I'm sure plenty of people are chomping at the bit to get one! (I'd wait for the Big Block version to be repopped, though. )
  9. Not even the '96 Sable? No, wait, I think that was before his time...
  10. Where's the padded roof and the chrome Landau irons?
  11. Something I found out the fun way...
  12. Whenever I look at the stack of unbuilt '50 F-1 kits in my stash, this is what I hope they'll turn out looking like!
  13. "You call this a sandwich and it doesn't even have any bacon?" If I ever get boxed in at Dean's and it's by this car, I'll know not to key it!
  14. Almost looks like an armored truck!
  15. I'm going to have to pick up a few more C-cab kits now... I've been poking around on your Fotki page, and I've gotten all kinds of ideas!
  16. As is the norm for you, Fletch, she's looking great so far! Then again, a chopped A 5-window will never disappoint this fellow!
  17. Evidently, it wasn't mastered! I guarantee I'd buy at least five or six of 'em!
  18. Looking great so far! This ought to be a real honey when it's finished!
  19. Rust, whitewalls, moon tank, 6 carbs... yeah, that works!
  20. Seems kind of tame for a Tom Daniel kit, but I like it nevertheless!
  21. Meatwad drives a Ranger, huh? Guess he must use Shake's back scratcher to work the pedals!
  22. Thanks- whenever I take this to a show, all people want to talk about are the dam red windows! That, and the red headlamps. Again, Jersey Devil thing- I wanted the car to look evil and menacing, so I went with red tinted glass and headlamps. Yes, I know the tinted windows were illegal by most sanctioning bodies of the era- still, seemed like plenty of racers ran tinted windows!
  23. Perfecting a model... then canceling it? Sounds more like GM than Porsche!
  24. Hmmm... those are certainly tires! Seriously, I wish I'd stumble across stuff like that in my spares box! I can think of a number of uses for those! Help this guy out! I want to know what those came from, as well!
  25. Good question! Here's the answer- Dave "Model King" Burket is based in New Jersey, and that's where this kit came from. When I think of Jersey, the following things come to mind: Dave (of course), The Misfits, Kevin Smith, Jon Bon Jovi, and the Jersey Devil. Since a "Jay and Silent Bob" funny car probably wouldn't have worked, I went with 'Jersey Devil', since it kind of sounds like a good name for a '60's drag car, anyway. I'd even planned to make 'Jersey Devil' decals with a font that resembled the Misfits logo, but couldn't pull it off. So there you go- the "Jersey Devil" theme is basically a result of my mind working overtime, connecting dots that are miles apart!
