  1. And my first model was a SnapTite Fox Mustang I didn't even bother to paint! I've been building for 21 years and half my stuff doesn't look this cool.
  2. Actually, it's "C-Train". But C-Mos isn't too bad.
  3. Who says everything that CAN be done to a Deuce HAS been done to a Deuce? Makes me wanna try a '49 Merc drift car...
  4. It's also a tiny car- even in the 'large-ish' 1:24 scale, it's smaller than any of the 1:25 Model T Ford bodies I have stacked like so much cordwood.
  5. I'm still not clear on one thing... since my screen name is my real name, do I really need my real name in my sig? I mean, come on... my middle name IS a tad embarassing!
  6. Whew... ya had me worried there, Chilly! Glad to see you've still got your sense of humor!
  7. Not a big fan of 'Vettes myself, but I love this one! Can't say I've ever seen anything even remotely like that done to an early 'Vette!
  8. Dean's Hobby Stop in Flushing Michigan, my friend, where I get all my 'oddball' stuff. Here's what I started with...
  9. You don't know your age or birthday? That's sad, man...

  10. Your avatar would make a killer T-shirt!

  11. $7.50!? You suck, Dave! As the Hemmings Motor News guys say, "Well bought".
  12. I remember buying this kit in 1999 and being impressed by it's awfulness. I never finished that one. Now that my skills are up, I picked one up about a year and a half ago to try and improve it. Then along comes Jeff, who no doubt has one-upped (no... upped a thousand fold) the best possible end result I could've gotten out of mine. Thanks! Thanks a lot Jeff! You crushed my spirit and ruined my whole day! In the best way possible, of course!
  13. I must have a thing for Citroens, as this is the third one I've 'ratt-ified' so far... No, it's not a bathtub, or an egg. It's a '24 5CV powered by an air cooled three cylinder made from a halved Corvair six. No idea if the seats on it vibrate, like on a modern Citroen, but maybe they do. As always, the link to the bonus footage: http://public.fotki.com/ChuckMost/rat-alley/24-citroen-c-bucket/
  14. Duhhhhh indeed, George!
  15. That Talladega sketch is giving me a few ideas for that Revell kit I've had laying around for a while!
  16. And I thought my '78 Diesel Scout II was in rough shape! Heck, at least that one's still got the doors and doghouse!
  17. Same here, though I do like to use my airbrush for custom mixed colors and stuff I can't readily get in a rattle can. There are plenty of paint tricks that you can do all day long with an airbrush, but a can can't touch. I'm a firm believer in a good (or even decent ) paint job being more about the prep and technique than the products used to lay it down.
  18. I hope the tooling for that kit still exists... Nice to see you do something so out of character, Lyle! Now if you'll pardon me, I'm going to go build a replica stocker. Wait, wait... no I'm not!
  19. Man- I have got to get m'self one o' those! Very nice, Tom!
  20. Oh yeah- Basterds was the only movie I actually went and saw at the theatre last year! I wanted to see "The Men Who Stare At Goats" also, but the 'basterds' who run the theaters in my area never picked it up! I guess this technically doesn't count, as I got it yesterday, but I'm still pretty proud o' this haul: I paid the princely sum of $12 for it. It's not in perfect shape- the chrome is just about gone from the grille shell, some nimrod glued the plated flaps for the hood sides in backwards, and the inner wheels for the hot rod tires (also installed backwards... who tried building this thing, Ray Charles, or what?)have a severe (good and terminal, actually) case o' 'tire burn'. But there's plenty left to save, and I'm sure glad I didn't need to pay 'full collector's price' on this one!
  21. I've got my basic shell done- now it's just onto adding the details. Since there's actually some interest, I'm trying to make it a bit 'better' than I normally would for my own personal use. Geroge- that '31 Woody would be a great start for that Doodle Bug conversion- the 1:1 that used to be in my sig was a '31!
  22. Wonder how easily the chassis from the '71 Charger R/T will adapt to this one? Or better still, the '68/'70 Pro Street floor!
  23. Thanks guys. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to dig out that '64 Marauder kit that I just KNOW I have stashed around this dump someplace...
  24. I've been gradually cutting back myself- I'm down to about half a pack a day (that's from an all time high- or is that low- of two full packs a day). I like to think of all the models I can buy with the money I'm not spending on tar bars!
