  3. Awesome project!! I'll be watching!!!
  4. Progress is moving right along on this one. I got it cleared and the body is on the chassis for good. All that's left are parachute release lines, fuel pump and lines to the barrel valve, glass in the hatch and quarter windows, door handles and dzus fasteners on the hatch. Thanks for looking!!
  5. I decided to finish up the main cage before I go over making intersecting joints. We'll go over that next time. I used my solder to mock up the main roof bar. Again, heating it over a candle allowed me to bend it up nice. Business cards are very versatile tools as they can be stacked to any height. I left the assembly like this to glue over night. The next bars to install were the dash bar and forward door opening bars. They are glued directly to the chassis pan. Next we add the two "A" pillar bars. I'll let this dry over night and next time we'll add the door bars and the supports that run into the trunk. Thanks for looking!

  14. That is stunningly beautiful!!! Never would have thought bright red would look so good on this body style. Nice job man!
  15. When cutting with the sprue cutters one side comes out flat and the other is pointed like this: This almost 90 degree angle makes fitting bars into corners a breeze! Stick the pointed end in the corner and then mark your tube and cut it so that both ends are pointed. It will take some getting used to to cut the tubes the exact length you need but you can get a fit that looks very close to a real joint. I use the tweezers to place all my tubes. Next time we'll turn that one diagonal tube into an "X" brace. We'll also start on the main cage.
  16. Let's continue building the cage for our '66 Falcon. The next step was to add the crossbar and diagonals seen here. Then I added the two rear bars. A piece of solder was used to determine the proper angle. Using a candle, both bars were bent at the same time. I also connected them with a short tube. Now follow along as I describe how I get those joints nice and tight. These tools are what I use the most. Those sprue cutters make life so much easier.
