Charlie, no the tail lights are for a friend, there from a '79 XE, the other taillight is from a '67 Polara, also for a friend. I don't remember Mark, it's from Converter Man, I wanted something a little beefier, also went with a .500 boost valve and Corvette Servo's....................along with a few other goodies. Nick

Longest 4 day work week of my life, if it could go wrong it did. Anyway, my latest "What Did you get's" I could list everything that was changed in my Trans, but it's not important, and I don't think anyone here cares. Nick

Yes this beauty is my Fury's Previous owners new ride (he and I became best of friends shortly after I bought my car from him) and yes, it's as fast as it looks, I'd say how fast I had it moving but who knows who reads these boards, I don't need johnny law banging on my door.

Vehicle maintance, a lot like cooking.
Nick Winter replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have a similar story Bill, but mine was a transmission, customer brought me their car saying that it was leaking transmission fluid, yes it was, they had over filled the transmission to the point that the pressure of shifts was forcing the fluid out of the dipstick tube. Nick -
I'll be there, not sure what 1:1 I will have that day (kinda thinking I'd like to borrow a friends Duster or Vette), but myself and few builds will be there. Nick Nick

Thought pictures couldn't hurt, I also got a dash plaque that will find it's way to my Fury (I have a small bad spot on my dash pad). Not a bad time for my first ever solo show (I borrowed the Duster from a friend) Nick

And after new gaskets, a good inspection, a good cleaning of a few important bits and some paint Firewall in the Factory F8 Ivy Green Poly. Engine & rebuilt trans back at home and my new C body roadwheels mounted balanced, repainted and polished. More stuff back at home Parts car where it sat for 6 years Floors Done in the interior and where I'm at currently with the trunk, just finishing up. Nick

So the saga continues. My co-worker (and my teacher most days since I finished school) and I rebuilt my 727 from the parts car, just stockish, little bit of a firmer shift. Started digging into my project too. Not too bad for a 45 year old Canadian built, And Canadian owned car that never saw any undercoating or a garage (extremely evident as i got deeper into it) After a sandblast The trunk on the other hand.................. So I bought this and a welder No turning back now! knowing people is a good thing, a friend has a bead roller

Somehow this one eats a lot more of my finances and time than the little ones, doesn't fit on my bench worth a anything either . A friend and fellow forum member thought there might be other who would enjoy seeing what I've been up to for nearly the last year of my life (bought him August 13th of last year.) Anyway little while longer and I'll be ready for paint. So what is it, it's a 1969 Plymouth Fury III Convertible, I bought it and the parts car (same make, model, year, trim, engine, drivetrain etc.) for $400 cash two blocks from my house (and ended up with a really great friend out of the deal) Both cars are (were) equipped with 318 2 barrel LA small blocks backed by "Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission" (D32 Option 727 3spd's) and both had 8 3/4 Open 2.76 Geared Differentials. They both also had the Same Optional All Vinyl Interiors in White. So, thats the general who-ha, now to the story bit; I wanted a project, something to tinker with, I scowered the local Craigslist and Kijiji and went and looked at about 10 cars, all of which didn't attract me, were over priced, or too far gone. Then a friend called me at work one day "Hey I was looking at the ads for free stuff on Kijiji and a guy has 2 Plymouth Convertible that he wants scrap value for, he's in Whitby" I called him and we headed over after I got home from Work, I liked what I saw and the aforementioned $400 deal was struck, 2 days later I had both cars at my Uncles house (his backyard looks like my block in size). Thats enough Story. These are the photo's seen in the Ad: And what I actually saw and what they looked like at my Uncles place, we threw a battery in the parts car and the top worked perfectly, then we threw the battery in the white car and some fuel in it, and it started right up. And after I started parting down the Parts car, I know what your thinking "thats the better car Dummy" as I got further into it and spoke to the previous owner in depth, it was a Used car dealer Quicky Full of Bondo, bad patches, and all kinds of bad. The Frame was gone on the front Stub (correct term for the front frame section) the rear frame rails were worse This engine was pooched I later found out (the previous owner told me it used to knock until it warmed up) I found the oil was thinker than tar, the oil pickup tube was actually clogged with extremely thick oil Better look at my good car So glad I kept it after I found out what I did Nick

The story So uhhh, at Nick Winter Automotive we entered our busy season, but that hasn't stopped the boss from forcing some time to work on his toy. So the boys Fred & Ed are back on my Chevy. (the Super bee got the boot outside for now) We got it the suspension buttoned up and ready for a coat of cheap but good old DOM 16, (remember the budget end of this ) anyway after the guys emptied years of accumulation from previous owners plans, we finally had our base with it's Stance and rollers figured out, I like it so far boys, (you may notice me in my natural habitat at my desk), The thought of averaging high speeds over free ways, interstates and highways brought up the point of handling, the doctor had our prescription for that, we don't need no stinking factory rear end or drum brakes, what if we need to stop! The Build! looking at the great progress you guys have going I pulled the Chev out and started mocking things up, my suspension is secret for now, but I will say 4 wheels disc brakes go nice with those mags and modern rubber. . Thanks Guys. Charlie, I saw a 1:1 '69 Road Runner that was Black with a Blue interior, I absolutely fell in love with the color combination, figured it would look better on a rag top though, I'm kinda partial to them Nick

I'll have to do some digging, The Pie tin I printed myself. That is very cool and basically what I want to build. I do have photo's of a real semi-local Mopar dealer that a friends '69 Fargo 100 came from. Nick

Thanks everyone, About the 440- 6 Barrel, What about it not being correct That one I based off a 1:1 that recently passed through the Mopar Forums, I know they never listed them as an option in '69, but old Ma Mopar had a thing about building things she should never have, a guy just posted photo's recently on the B Body forum of a Mis-stamped rim. Nick

In between playing with my 1:1 project, I've been working on these, and well 6 others like them (AMT '68-'69 B Body Plymouth's) Eventually I will build a Dealership Diorama to place them in, and yes Harry there are rear view mirrors, there in the box with the complete cars awaiting their permanent home (Dealership) anyway, I didn't get silly with the details and there not factory perfect (just like the real ones...........) but I'm pleased, they are hosed off in Factory colors I had mixed. Car 1: GTX Hardtop, 440-6 Barrel, A833 4spd (D21 option), Dana Trac Pack (A33 Option) , Black outs (V21 option), Saddle interior, T5 Bronze Fire exterior, black V-roof (V1X option, medical tape method I always use). PS (S77 option) & PB (B51 option, parts box booster), Air Grabber (N96 Option), Sport Steering wheel (S81 option) Car 2: GTX Convertible, 440-4 Barrel (E86 HP motor), A833 4spd (D21 option), Dana Trac Pack (A33 Option) , Bright Blue interior, X9 Black exterior, White top (V3W option). PS (S77 option) & PB (B51 option, parts box booster), Horn ring steering wheel (S79 option) Nick

Sounds good, I'll add it to the list, as for my Chebby, it's not much farther then it was the last time I posted photo's, having a hard time building right now with all the fun I'm having driving a friends toys, well that and the usual working on my car and truck and working full-time thing. (yes the Duster is as fast as it looks, that's a BUILT 340, The Vette moves pretty good too for being the Lowest HP V8 Corvette ever built) I'll have some progress soon now that I finally have a wiring harness off my workbench. Nick
