  1. More great Progress, Loving it so far guys! I'll add you to the list Oooohhh the trash talk LOL I was waiting for that
  2. Thanks everyone, your kind comments are appreciated. Fewer stops means less time lost I love Dark blue, '57 Bel Air's and slotted mags
  3. Haha, I guess I will need another shelf!
  4. Thank you Tony, They help fill in blank spots on my shops wall LOL (actually I wish I had some more wall space to put up some framed photo's I have) Nick
  5. Thanks everyone, Jonathan the win surprised me, I thought the other models should have won. as always I'll continue to watch your builds progress! See you at the start line! Nick
  6. Thanks Michael, They are from the kit (Amt '57 Street Machine) it comes with all kinds of goodies (4 link rear suspension, welded 9 inch etc) That BBC is like a modern 5.7 Hemi, it has active cylinder management LOL ..........................and if you believe that I have some swamp land.......
  7. Bought from a friends collection after he passed away, was already painted but that was when the kit first came out (and Colin only painted the body shell, hood & trunk lid) so I had to match everything and polish out what was already painted, then I foiled and did the rest of it. The corvette wheels and tacky steering wheel had to go............So I grabbed a '67 Vette steering wheel and some Monogram slotted mags. Added power steering & a better alternator to the kits modern big block. (yeah the firing order is correct LOL) Interior is flocked, wanted the dash too look more modern, so more chrome was added and parts box gauge decals, some PE doo-dads (air freshener, keys & fob, sunglasses). I think that's about it, ohh, took it to a show yesterday after finishing it Friday night and was quite surprised to win 1st in Street Machines with it (I still think the Myers Manix should have won) But officer I was definitely speeding, doesn't honesty count for anything anymore Oh, the hood does sit level and proper but I've noticed it has to be pushed down just right to do so (kinda like the real ones sometimes) Nick
  8. Thank you Bill, that helps out quite a bit, I now know what years to be focusing my research. Nick
  9. Had to sit and think it out a bit. The Story; The Final Chapter.............. The Engine checked out when we had it apart, the Transmission needed a good service and some seals. I found the chrome pan under one of the Work benches, The valve covers got swapped out for a slightly taller set, The Air cleaner received a spare decal that was in my desk drawer, the HP rating on the decal is a bit modest for this car. The interior is a used interior we found online, the guy was going back to factory with his car, someone had redone an interior in black, that works for us, after a cleaning, it looks good. The air freshener is to knock a bit of the must down from the carpet. The trim polished out pretty well, the bumpers are used units and are nice 5 footers (they look perfect from 5 feet). Over all it performs well and we think we stand a good chance. See you folks in NY Oh BTW it turns out that it sorta does attract police attention............. remind me to pay that ticket soon. The Build Well it's finished, and I'm happy, finished it Friday night, entered it in a contest Saturday, ended up winning 1st in Street Machines which I wasn't expecting. Nick Edit: just noticed, the hood does close properly, I just didn't push it all the way closed after taking a picture of the engine I guess
