Revell Hot Rod Pickup and Snap Wrecker, Didn't like very much of either kit, it's about 60% kit bashed, 40% scratchbuilt (Axles, springs, exhuast, and the whole bed & Wrecker unit. Still a few dozen things to do. Nick

Thanks Paul and Mike, Pieces of Round strip styrene. Thanks, I mearly searched out as many photo's of the 1:1 counter part and was lucky enough to find a similar design wrecker in a scrapyard to which I was able to run the cables out by hand and see how it worked (the PTO was disengaged) Cleared a few and have gone back tinkering. added the visor to cover the top edge of the glass were the issues are, also started working on the Holmes 480 Twin Boom Mechanical Sling wrecker. Spent the day in Hamilton at the Drag Strip memories Show, got to help out pushing a few of the cars in, any time you get to actually touch and direct the placement of a piece of Drag racing nostalgia is a good day. Anyway, got a few things in trade from some friends, also was given a few things by friends. Howard Cohen gave me the F150 built up, the '58 chevy and open 454SS trucks were from two other good friends, Anyway the pictures can speak for themselves. Here's a link to Howards photo's he took today at the show, first 3 pages are from this year. http://public.fotki.com/howardcohen/vintage-drag-race-show/ Nick

Box-Stock or Custom?
Nick Winter replied to MikeyB08's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I can honestly say that it is rare that I build out of box, the reason being I don't like what they give me, it usualy doesn't reflect my tastes, For example AMT's '69 GTX Convertible, I Didn't want a 426 Hemi 4spd car with a dana 60, so It will be built as a 318 LA, 727 Torqueflite 8 3/4 car. Glad you can help, wish I could have, Customer was happy to have the 'Stang back. It is lots of fun Bradley, this one is far from dead stock, Moves nicely. Actually it's one of the best hooking up stangs I've driven. It has B303 Heads, a cam, Cold Air Intake, Battery relocate, Drilled and slotted rotors, Thicker Sway bar, drop springs, Aftermarket shocks, Sub Frame connectors and a few other things I forget, Tires were bad and the customer wanted to find a set himself, so we had it quite a while before we could sign the Safety certificate. My co-worker who I think is in the backround of one of the pictures had a '89 that was built to say the least (.75 shot of NO2, swapped to an MSD ignition and carb, carb was a 850 holley, sitting on a edelbrock dual plane, he had under drive pulley's, full tube front sub frame, aluminum rad with electric fans, and a few other things I forget, he got in some serious trouble with that one. Around here foxes have dried up, and what is available goes to Da Silva or to the scrapyard because it's a rot box. Nick -

Emissions test part II
Nick Winter replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ontario Recently changed their emissions testing policies (once again it's a regional thing, only certain area's require testing), Now all vehicles with OBD II are merely scanned and no longer ran on the Dyno, so as long as your check engine light is not on you Pass, if your vehicle is OBD I it is still dyno-ed like my truck, of course 25 or older are exempt, like new vehicles for the first 7 years, it's something that has never made sense here and is making less sense. Yes it is Steve, Mitch is a great guy, bought a lot of stuff from him over the years. Thanks Alan, they took a while to figure out, but were worth the glued fingers in the end.
