  1. HaHaHa! OK, I had to. It is still kinda catchy. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2471827/maud..._opening_theme/
  2. Curtis, I can read your thoughts past. Shame on you, this a family oriented site.
  3. Tim, Ray, Kostas, Thanks for the comments! Curtis, Thanks for the comment! A headache rack is a cab guard/storage box mounted behind the cab/sleeper. It is for protection from loads shifting forward, usually flatbeds, and hitting the cab, possibly going into or even through resulting in a headache......if you catch my drift. I guess cab guard is the industry term and headache rack probably adapted by drivers experiencing its effective qualities. The "Maude", if you're not old enough to know, comes from a tv show in the late 70's/early 80's called Maude. Anyway, that post was for the pieces of that build that had been painted. So, I started off thinking "and then there's paint". Well, for years, because of that show, when I say the words "and then there's ?", the theme from that show interupts my thought and takes over. The words to the theme song were "And then there's Maude". Mopar fan, That's easier than typing all the #'s and such. Well, until I went typing all of this. What would be even easier, as well as appreciated is if you could put your real name in the sig line at the bottom of your post. Besides, forum rules require it. Thanks for the comment! The tires on my 378 are aftermarket but are on kit wheels. This stuff is plastic, anything is possible. Although, the 378 is 1/24 scale and the Alaskan Hauler is 1/25. But, like I said, it is plastic. If you want them on it, then all you have to do is adapt them. Something I have yet to do. Thanks again.
  4. Here is some progress shots of my latest build. It is the Peterbilt 377 in the same colors as my previous 378. I have the cab painted as of today. Yet to clear. I'm wishing now that I had gotten decals before this point to represent a company, oh well. As well, I also painted the frame one day this past week. I am going to paint the headache rack on this one and alclad the doors and deck rather than alclad the whole thing like the 378. The engine, Detroit Series 60, is completed with the exception of the valve cover, intake and pulleys/belts. I scratchbuilt the lift axle. It's just a combination of multiple reference pics but it turned out decent. I have O-rings that fit over the rear bag of this to simulate colloapsed bags. Les
  5. Yea, what he said^
  6. I just recieved an order from them. He didn't go into details, but, it appears that he is just recovering from a serious event as he mentioned losing everything as well as construction on his house. Is he a member here? I hope everything is going well for him.

  10. Holy Christmas, was this guy goin for a Ridler? That is whack!
  11. Heavens ta Betsy Scott, You put this kinda effort into a 1:1, you'd have a Riddler sit'n on your shelf.
  12. I remember Walter Kronkite from when I was young. I always liked his character. But, no on air personality could beat the late Paul Harvey. I could never get tired of hearing his broadcasts.
  13. Add David Carradine and that is five well known celebs this month.
  14. Mike, Might this be it? http://www.largescalemodeler.com/forum/index.php
  15. Is that factory ride height? I like that stance. Sharp car......er truck...... Elky.
  16. Who doesn't want a 426 HP V8! Who doesn't NEED a 426 HP V8!! Didn't I here that the V6 has 300 HP?
  17. Harry, I like the black also. A little too shiny though. If you want to tone down the shine, use black bumper paint. I redid my front and rear bumper pads and grill on my last truck and it turned out with a very smooth finish and flat. The best part is that over the four years between painting them and trading the truck, the Florida sun along with who knows how many washes did not have a single effect on it.
  18. I thought that at first, but, why would he? It is "Real or Model".
  19. OK Harry, I say real. But, the pic appears to have been modified. The grille/hood line isn't right. The tires/wheels look questionable. The variance in the black areas. The under car shadow is simulated. The roof rails/luggage rack has been imported or ? Maybe it's just me.
  20. Clearing it helps keep it in place in case of a bump or similar when handling it. The clear(I use enamel) will fog it up quite a bit at first but will be fine once the clear cures. Shelf life? I am still using a sheet of BMF I purchased before I went on a 10 year hiatus about 12 years ago. Still as sticky as the day I bought it after being stored in a small storage tub packed in a box.
  21. Postal carriers and residential garbage collectors do it everyday............at about 7 mph average. Les
  22. No such thing. I feel there are two ways to learn.... Dive in and learn while making mistakes and eventually, you get it down. Or, ask someone and eliminate some, if not all, of the mistakes as well as getting ideas and inspiration along the way. Les
  23. Ben, Your weathering looks great! I am not sure about the vette either, although, most were fiberglass. Your gravel looks a bit big, have you considered cat litter? It works for 1/24-25, but not sure how it would look with 1/18. The gravel you're using looks more like small boulders or riprap. Overall, it's a nice setup, nice details.
