Just because it's scene in the movie, does not necessarily mean it's a movie car. What we are looking for is character-cars. Cars that make the movie what it is. Not back-ground's or extras. Just a side note, what about cars that were on the list, but did NOT make it in the movie? Surely they didn't film all 50. Plus, we really didn't get a good look at the new Mercedes, "The ones they say is unstealable." Does anybody have a good picture of the car in question?

And now, my two Murcielago models. One is a 1/28 scale body made for racing on a Kyosho Mini-Z chassis, and the other is a Kyosho 1/43 scale high-performance RC car. 1/28 scale Murcielago AutoScale The color is actually a very pretty pearl white which is hard to see in photo. 1/43 scale Kyosho Dnano. This is an amazing piece of RC car technology. Very good high-performance little racer. Just to show you how small this miracle on wheels is, this is resting on my real Iphone.

Okay, got lot's of pics for you of my collection. So bare with me. 1/18 scale collection 1/43 scale collection with Transformers in the back ground. My two favorite 1/43's Ferrari 360 GTC, and Lamborghini Countach Smart car, and Honda Insight in 1/43 Model airplane collection. I forget what scale these are but these are really nice die-cast models and they have just about every aircraft you could possibly want. You can see my an Airwolf on the left, and a Mig on the right, both are 1/48 in scale. Knight Rider collection. 1 1/18 scale KARR, a 1/43 scale KITT, and a 1/43 scale KARR. Both have functioning lights. And two Hotwheels, one KITT, other you guessed it, KARR.

I'll make a point of taking pics of my 1/18 scale, 1/43 scale and my KS collection. My KS is now mounted on individual shelves on top of each other. I just need to find a nice dust-resistant case for each one. Unfortunately, the KS windshield banners on my 928 have come up and flaked off a bit. Next time I'll clear coat the windows to seal in those banners. Need to find my camera and possibly put it on the charger today. Yesterday I saw a pretty sweet 1/18 scale Smart 4-2 model. It comes in black with an extra body set in white! My favorite color! Might get that and the Mini Cooper I saw.

Controllers for Macintosh computers
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Foxer, I can't imagine trying to race a car with a control stick. That's more for like airplanes and such! LOL! No, I'd much rather find a steering wheel. I tend to think of it as keyboards, analog steering, and steering wheel, digital steering or what we call in the RC world, proportional steering. Back in my PC day's, I had a nice steering wheel, but back then my video was glitchy and not very fun. My Mac has been totally glitch free and I love it! Even watching YouTube is much more enjoyable! -
Controllers for Macintosh computers
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Some games are universal. What you want to look for on the box is a symbol that shows both Mac and PC logo's together. Colin Mcrae Rally for example is universal and therefor Mac compatible. I just need a steering wheel for better game control, I bet my track times will be much better than with the silly key's on the keyboard. Still a fun game, and I look forward to finding the second version which is said to have corrected some issues with the first. -
Somebody has listed on ebay 2 Maisto cars for the price of one. A yellow Diablo, and a Green Murcielago for just under 40 bucks. I'm very tempted by that. I noticed how closely Maisto and BBBurago appear to be in packaging and detail.

Paint color identification
FujimiLover replied to loudcherokee's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Photo's and real-life do not share the same color's. I don't think you can get the paint to match perfectly from a photograph. The photograph itself has different properties than that of the real object and that alone might throw off the color-matching machine. What you need is an actual example from the full scale truck. -
Would be crazier if they added the trailer! LOL! It's a little scary just driving up the hill. But once your up there, there is a nice little cafe with a gift shop and what a view! It's scarier going back down hill cause your brakes can over heat and you might be a run away!

I'm in for Eleanor if I can get my hands on the right kit and right parts. When's our dead line? It may take me some time to get the kit's. Plus, still working on my Smart Drifter which is taking longer than excepted, just because I'm a little lazy at it.

Does nobody here play racing games on Mac's? -
Cool, I love pictures. What color, and what brand of Testarossa do you have? There is a really nice white one on ebay that has the single mirror like in Miami Vice that I'm after.

Yep, I know. I got the soundtrack. I was disappointed LowRider from War wasn't in there.

Paint color identification
FujimiLover replied to loudcherokee's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Home Depot or any really good paint supplier should have a machine that reads the pigments in the paint and will give you the exact code needed. I have an Align Trex 450 helicopter with an Airwolf fuselage that has a custom mixed metallic gray color on it. I remade the tail fin to more acurate shape and had to have it painted to match. So I sent the stock tail piece to a local paint supplier and they matched it up perfectly. I sprayed the new tail piece and it look's like the factory painted it. I forget the local paint-suppliers name, but Home Depot's paint section should have same machine and can probably mix up a batch of matching color for you as well. -
Thank's for the reply. I have the Mercedes AMG racing car, Burago I think, it's silver in color and has C/F texture, but no real look. I have blue metallic Porsche 911 without rear wing, Burago as well I believe, and I have a Hot Wheels White 360 Modena Spyder tuner car with big azz chrome wheels and pure white interior. Fourth car is a black/yellow Porsche 911 GT-? racer from whom I've forgotten. I'll take pictures of these four later this evening. Would like to get rid of these four cars for the ones on my wish list. One or two might actually be Maisto, I'm not sure. The black/yellow Porsche is a cool racing car, but nothing opens and kind of lack details. Oh! I forgot to add one more to the wish list. I don't remember if it's Kyosho, or AutoArt, but one of theme has a very cool pure white Mini Cooper S with racing trim and all doors open. It's a very awesome car and would like to have that as well. Pictures of your collection would be cool if you could some time. Thank's! Anybody else? Correction, Mercedes is Maisto.

Hello there. I'm wondering if anybody collect's 1/18 scale die-cast models? I've got four cars I'd like to replace. I have a wish-list of ones I'd like to get but don't know what companies to stay away from as many make the same car/color. Here is my wish list. 1) White Ferrari Testarossa from Miami Vice 2) Green Lamborghini Murcielago 3) Yellow Lamborghini Diablo 4) Yellow Ferrari 360 Modena 5) White Porsche 911 GT3 6) Black BMW GTR street version of racing car 7) Either red or yellow Ferrari F-40 8) Black Lamborghini LP 500 Countach I know that Auto Art is one of the best manufacturers out there, but they are pricey. Close to $100 dollars for Lambo's. Kyosho, same but Kyosho's Countach's are very superb with all doors, trunk's, and even pop-up headlights all open. Auto Art's got clothed interiors and superb details. BB Burago are very nice for their price level, but does not have the detail level as the first two mentioned names. What do you guy's look for when you purchase 1/18 scale models? Do you look for something specific like in my wish list, do you look for details, qualities, paint jobs, et'c? Do you just want affordability and able to collect all the cars you like? I know it's my money and it's up to me what's worth it and what's not. But is it worth spending the extra bucks for the higher end Auto-Art, or Kyosho, or just get what you can and go for the lesser BB Burago brand? What would you guy's do? I like quality, I like to display my 1/18's with all doors open. I like to move parts, I like realism, I like superb detail. but I don't want to spend a fortune. If going for the highest quality, this list could easily go over $1000 dollars of which I don't have and don't want to spend on die-cast models. Would like some suggestions, ideas, tips, and comments please. What do you look for when collecting? And how do you like to display theme? Please post photo's of your 1/18's. Thank you!

Hello there. Please correct your title. It is Pikes Peak. I live in Black Forest which is a several miles away from those mountains and I would appreciate proper spelling. I agree, those cars are awesome and very wild! I wouldn't mind a couple of die-cast models of theme. I've been to the Pikes Peak Hill Climb once and it was awesome. It was the closest thing we've got to rally racing and it's fun watching these cars race up the hills and drift around the turns. It's even more exciting watching the side-car's race up with the monkeys flipping back and forth trying to maintain the bikes proper balance! The slowest ones up the hill are the big rig trucks! This could be yet another interesting build-off! But not for a while......................

Another idea about a build off
FujimiLover replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's why I said the ideas are great, but let's not start the build-offs till the other ones are finished. I still have not even started my Smart Drifter yet and I haven't even found a kit for my own Cannonball Run build-off. So let's keep these ideas on paper, but wait till the rest are complete. This way, it'll give everybody who wishes to participate a chance to do so without feeling crammed. -
I'm watching the movie right now as we speak. At the point where where their starting to steal the cars. I love that song "Stop The Rock". I was wondering, has their ever been a video game based on the movie? I thought it would be awesome to start the game with the easiest car to drive and each level you get a harder one to get away with. Last level would be of coarse Eleanor with longer times, more cops, more obstacles, et'c. Would be an awesome game! If I can find the right model kit to build Eleanor with, I'm in.

Hello there. As you know, I have an awesome new computer, the new Imac. I've been playing Colin Mcrae Rally on it and I love it! I've been told the second version is much better as it smoothes out a lot of imperfections in the game. As I drive, I notice the cars tend to drift in a weird way. This is not the kind of drifting we like, it's like the game physics are quirky. My question is this. What is the best steering wheel system that is Mac-compatible? I don't want to give my right arm for one, as I'll need it for driving! But I don't want junk either. Any suggestions and what other Mac-compatible racing games are there?

Another idea about a build off
FujimiLover replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
HEY! Don't forget the Cannonball Run Build-off! I was also going to start another one, but I think there is too many at this point and nobody would have a chance to start another project for my next two ideas. Both Italian Job movies, and all the Fast and Furious movies would be cool build-off's as well. Granted, the Italian Job's would only have six cars to choose from, and the two set's of three are identical except for colors. But I would offer any car seen in either movie would be considered. Enough of my rambling, all these build-off's sound great, but let's give some space in between folks. We only have so many hours in a day, so many day's in a week, et'c. Plus, we have other lives as well. Let's keep the ideas, but save'em for when the other build-offs are finished! The list can go on and on. How about a WRC build-off? DTM? BTCC? Formula Drift? Yes, I know we already have a drift build-off, but I'm specifically refering to cars that are well known in the drift competition. Perhaps an Initial D build-off? -
I was just searching ebay last night for some model's of Eleanor and discovered that you can buy a real-life 1/1 scale replica of the actual car used in the movie. It cost some where around $100,000 didn't get exact price tag, but it was way up there. Yep! Some company that builds replica cars is offering a real-life Eleanor! I thought it was pretty cool and though I'd share it with you guy's. Just simply search Eleanor on ebay, and choose to view higher-priced items first. It's up there!

My Old Cell Phone
FujimiLover replied to James W's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I am very happy with my basic black Ipod and Iphone. I had the original 60GB Ipod Video Classic that had that shiny gloss-black acrylic finish. But that showed up a lot of finger prints and scratches very easily. My new Ipod, the 160 GB Video Classic has that new flat-black finish and month's later it still look's brand spanking new. Upon delivery I immediately covered the screen with those handy clear protectors and at same time as purchase, I had ordered a black silicone case from Ifrogz.com. I ordered a matching set for both Ipod and Iphone and both are still like new condition. I wouldn't bother painting either one at all. -
Funny, I never noticed that change before! LOL! I guess many people didn't except for those that really know those kind of cars. Tell you the truth I wasn't even sure what kind of car it was supposed to be in the first place as I don't know those classics.
