  1. Thank's for clearing that up, but this is only for the two mentioned movies since we recently lost Dom Delouise and the illness of Farrah Fawcett.
  2. Jackie Chan was in both The Cannonball Run and Cannonball Run II. He was part of the Japanese team. I dont' know who the other Japanese guy was in the first movie, but in the second movie, it was the same actor who played James Bond's Jaw's character. If by Firebird you mean the blue/white police car that was chasing the black Countach in the opening scene of the first movie, than certainly you can build that one. But the car has to look exactly like the one in the movie. As for Mustang, I dont' recall a Mustang in the movie, but again if you can find a picture of a Mustang in any Cannonball Run scene, please post it. I'm not entirely sure, but I think the Cannonball Run movies was Jackie's first American movie appearance? Anybody know?
  3. Why are you mentioning Bruce Willis and Nicolas Cage? A: their still doing very well, and B: they are not part of the Cannonball Run series. I only mentioned Jackie Chan's other movies cause he was part of the Cannonball Run series. B.W. and N.C. never were. What two cars are you talking about? I don't recall those two in either movies unless they were on the side. If you can find a picture of the car you want to do, in either Cannonball Run movie scene, you can do it. Just post picture of scene. However, I prefer the main character's cars be part of the build off.......................... Is there a model of the Japanese team's car that was in the first Cannonball Run? You know, the one with the jet-pack?
  4. Interesting tip. Does not work with all mirrors such as those tiny little ones that come on some exotics, and my KS mirrors. I'll have to try this some time if I can match up the hole just right with the wire.
  5. Now that I have a Mac with super duper high-quality monitor and killer graphics, I can see a lot more details in the photos. This one is REAL!
  6. The build-off is ONLY for the two Cannonball movies as mentioned mostly because we lost so many of the actors that were in both of'em. I thought Speed Zone was retarded when they had the car skipping across the lake like a rock-skipping. LOL! Farrah Fawcett is battling cancer and last I heard she's losing. She's not looking all that good these day's. I'm not sure which car I want to build either or when I'll get around to it. So, there is no due-date for this as of yet. I'd like to do the black Countach with the wing up front, but not sure how to make that front wing realistic or where to get those driving lights they had mounted on it. At least we still have Burt Reynolds and Jackie Chan! Jackie was awesome in all three Rush Hour movies! LOL!
  7. 32 views and no replies? Any Cannonball Run fan's here? A classic car-racing movie guy's! This would be a fun build-off. Anyone?
  8. How do you black-wash? I'd like to do that on a couple of project's.
  9. I thought about that same stuff when I got my Milliput. I think it's same stuff but repackaged for other sellers. That's just my opinion. If you can get it real cheap, just try it and let us know. That guy annoy's the hell out of me and now he has his own show? AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH! LOL! That, and that lady that has that high-pitched voice who tries to sound like a sweet young lady. I hate those darn info mercials.
  10. Hello there Cannonball Run fan's! It is a sad day when actors from your favorite movies pass away. We seem to be losing our Cannonball'ers! Dean Martin passed away a while ago, as did Sammy Davis Junior, and just recently we lost Dom Delouise, AKA Captain Chaos! And now it seems, Ferra Faucet is on her final day's. So in memory of our fallen Cannonball'ers, I'd like to start a build off. Your car must be ANY one of the cars featured in either The Cannonball Run, or Cannonball Run II. I've always wanted a model of that very cool black Lamborghini Countach as seen in the first movie. You know, the one with the wing up front and the hot pair of seat covers? Would such a build-off be of any interest to you people? I know there exists an MPC model kit of J.J. Mclure and HIM's medical van.
  11. Thank you for your kind compliments! And yes, there is a lot of red on this car. If you look back at the photo of the real car, you'll see it's got a lot of red in it too. So, I'm building this one to represent the real deal. If you still have your kit, I can scan you a copy of the instruction's manual. And which part of the exhaust system are you missing? Most could probably be scratch built. Tips are just tiny little aluminum pieces of tubing. But, I've also seen this car listed on ebay several times and that's where I got this one from.
  12. Another cold rainy day. No chances of clear-coating and finishing the body. Plus sounds like Dad and I are heading out to California in the next few day's so the Porsche is on hold for a while. PLUS I'm still trying to figure out the stupid printer on my new Mac. I can't seem to get my Mac to print! As I said in the other thread, it'll scan no problem. But, it won't print. So, FYI, no updates on the Porsche except no updates till I probably get back from Cali', and Dad's on his way down to FL.
  13. If an open window is a win-do, is a closed window a win-don't?
  14. The weird thing is, the computer found the drivers for it, and it recognizes it, but when it starts to do a job, it just gets stuck and does not start printing. It's stuck on printer ready, job 1, and nothing happens. I've gone into System Preferences, I opened up print and fax, it shows listed my printer, but nothing. When in the printer ready stage, it shows a list of drivers available for billion's of printers. It says something about making sure you have the correct driver for printer to work properly and to be fully functional. It has my printer listed, I clicked on the driver for my printer, my computer recognizes the printer, but printer does not print the photo. Scanner work's just fine, but no print. I'll try restarting the Mac next and see if that works. Right now, this is the ONLY thing that's frusterating me about my new computer!
  15. I have an Epson Stylus Photo RX680, a wonderful high-def printer. I thought I had downloaded all the appropiate Mac-drivers for it from Epson, but I can't get the stupid thing to print. The computer recognizes it, it sais printer is ready, but it don't do jack.I can get it to scan successfully, but no print. When I thought I had the right printer/driver for it, it started printing but all the pages were blank and I couldn't get it to stop! I had to empty the paper-tray to get it to stop and turn it off! I've just been trying all morning to get the stupid printer to print one image! I dont' know what I'm doing wrong here. The one frusterating aspect of a new computer is getting EVERYTHING to work together! I need to be able to print my documents!
  16. Been trying to set up my printer. I've gotten it to where I can scan an image from the the scanner and onto the computer, but some reason i can't get it to print. I believe I've downloaded the print-driver for it. Are there any really good visualizers out there that can plug-in to Itunes? The visualizer that comes with Itunes is pretty cool already, but one likes to have choices! I've been searching through the Apple store, and a lot of what I like are demo's or pay-for items.
  17. Well, found out you can not save the audio in the format I was hoping for. It only allows you to save it for use with Itunes audio-book thingy which I have no use for. I deleted Garage Band cause I don't like a lot of things about it, it's not as intuitive as Sonic Foundries Acid programs and I just don't see my self spending hours playing with it. I am really enjoying the heck out of my computer. I can't believe how fast the processor is, I can't believe how gorgeous the screen is. Photos of my red Porsche just really pop out at yea like real life almost. My movies playback so silky smooth and such gorgeous video quality. It's amazing! Also, my desk is a lot less cluttered with junk. Only thing I'm not used to yet is the fact that the mouse has no right-click. So all my copy, past, cut commands are slightly different. I used to do everything with the right click! LOL! The Verbilizer program is still fun to play with though!
  18. Sorry guy's. I haven't been working on the 911 lately. Been having to much fun with my new Imac computer. All that's needed to finish the model is to work on the body. Need to decal it, clear coat it, paint the black trim, paint the tail lights, and stick the lenses and window in place. Also, the weather's been kind of crumby this weekend. We've had alot of rain which is a great thing it's making everything all green and beautiful and it keeps fire-danger down. But it doesn't do much good for painting. And when Dad's home I can't paint in the outer-workshop like I have been doing. He doesn't like me painting in there! So not much going on here!
  19. Okay, I found what I was looking for. Well, not exactly but in fact better. I went into the Mac store, you know like what you do with Itunes, and I searched in their application's under audio. They have a program called Verbalize. It will speak what you type in your choice of voice. AND what's more, it will save the audio! So, it's possible to put your spoken text into your music compositions!
  20. No thrill with Bill! Is it possible to find this older software and run it on my computer? I have found those voices I'm after in my system, but I can't find that same Simple Text software. The only thing that works for me right now, is I can go into the systems folder, open speech, and choose my voice. Then, I can choose it to speak highlighted text. But, that's not what I want. I want what was available a few years ago. Like I said, it looked like a simple word-pad layout that just had an option for voices right in front of you. You just selected the voice, and I think you hit enter or something and it'll play back what you typed. Maybe you had to highlight it first, I can't recall. I've googled Simple Text and get a bunch of other junk that I dont' think is even near what I want. I dont' want to download something unless I know exactly what it is.
  21. The KS Competition's exhaust didn't have alot of parts, but it was difficult to get'em all properly lined up together while trying to glue'em together as well. On my red one I even tried CA'ing it and that didn't help as much as I thought it would for some reason.
  22. I have been searching through my computer and I did discover that it has the same voices in it that I remember. But, I can not find the text field to where I can THEN select the voices that I want to playback the text I just typed. It does not seem to be as easy as it was five years ago. But at least I know the voices are there. They range from Fred, to Vicky. to bubbles, to Sad News, Good News, alot of very recognizable robotic voices. Pretty cool sounding stuff. Some funny ones are called histerical and/or deranged, can't remember which where it sounds like somebody is laughing while trying to talk at the same time. So, I know I'm close, but I can't find out how to type, select voice, and have it speak what I just typed!
  23. The only way to do that is to remove the body off the car and I don't want to risk braking the exaust pipes on it as their delicate and where their located in conjunction to the rear of the body, they can easily be broken off when removing the body from the chassis. I'd rather not sorry. Maybe when I build the convertible version, which has the same identical set up, I'll post pic's of that. But I'd rather not mess with any of my finished models.
  24. Another question. Does anybody play with their Mac's program called Garage Band? It's a very cool music creating program, probably one of the best I've seen so far. I'm wondering if there is a way to record the Simple Text "speech" and save as a file that Garage Band can use? I wonder if I have/need a microphone input for the computer to record.
  25. Glad to see this thread still alive! I had a joke a week ago, I thought it was pretty good, but I guess not good enough since I forgotten what it was. LOL! Doh!
