  1. however you make it, dont' forget to use the good'ol BMF aluminum for final finish. Another great idea, I've done this once before, is to find spare shaver screens. They have a nice grill look to'em. They do come in different sizes and shapes, so find one that is closest to your shape. The shaver screens are metal, but thin enough that their relatively easy to cut. They also almost have that popular honey-comb design to theme. Good luck! Of coarse, if you use the shaver screen, BMF is not required. ...................sorry, I didnt' pay attention to the fact that you were specifically going to go for a bar-design. Not sure about that. I just thought of the shaver screens as a form of grill for cars.
  2. I hate screws! As simple of a method as mounting something is, I can never seem to get small screws lined up properly especialy when their at odd angles like these seats were. engine bay with I guess these are air filters? This is definetly going to be a slow project!
  3. I'd be afriad of somebody stealing something I've worked on for a month! Not that I've yet spent an entire month on a model, but point is still there.
  4. Yea, I'm sure that one's been tried before. Wouldn't it be funny if somebody actually did? How would you prove it's yours?
  5. So is that naked lady 1/24 or 1/25 scale? Where can I buy one from? I could use one across the hood of my Koenig Ferrari!
  6. I wish I could as my mother passed away two years ago from breast-cancer. Fortunetly, I've got a wonderful aunt who's always been like a second mother to me. Make every year you have with her count cause you never know when something can go wrong. Lot's of things I wish I've done differently. Be good to your mom, as she's always been there for you!
  7. I bet he uses "Turdle Wax!" I build cars of cars I dream of owning. Or if I had a model of my real 1:1 scale car, I'd build the model to either replicate it, or build the model as how I'd build the real thing. Models are a cheap way of having my dream car!
  8. Thank you for your suggestion. I have used liquid masking once before, but didnt' think about it this time as I dont' have any on hand. Here are the results so far from simple masking. Engine bay, not too bad. Probably most of it will be covered by other parts anyway. Still, flat black is very easy to touch up. Bottom of chassis where the transmision meets the engine. I made one error here. The sides of the chassis are actually supposed to be red to match the body. Not a problem, when the rest of it dry's, I can mask and spray.
  9. Sorry the image is a little dark, but here is the engine bay in question. The more I examine it, the more complex it look's to mask off neatly. I'd hate to hand-paint it cause I dont' have paint that'll match the silver I'll be spraying other engine bit's.
  10. Maybe drip a few black/brown splat's on the floor to give it a dirty oil-dripped look?
  11. Thank's guys. The body kit fit's well, but the front bumper was a pain in the azz to fit into place. The rear was quite a bit easier. Once fitted though, it is a perfect fit. I need to give the rear wing another coat, and I'll need to paint the other panels red as well. Once everything is painted, I'll begin assembly. I'm not sure how I'm going to do the engine bay as 90% of it is black, and only the middle section where the engine itselfe is will be silver. The engine is in an area that wont' be easy to mask, so not sure if it'll be spray-painted, or hand-painted. The bumpers are held into place by screws, the front bumper is screwed into place with the turn-signal lights. The rear bumper is two peices, the standard Diablo peice, and the additional Koenig rear valance. Both are held onto the body by screws which are nearly impossible to screw into where they are located. I have no idea what they had in mind for a tool that could get into the proper line-up and position for screwing in these screws. Will post pic of that later. I'll let this dry for a day or two longer before handling it. Mean while, I'll continue painting other parts.
  12. Look's like you got a tough project going on there! I wish you luck with the body. Fixing body work is such an itch to do. I bet you can find a similar Countach model, that just won't have the Koenig features. Perhaps the Koenig features are still good?
  13. An improvement on the door panels.
  14. door panels and seats. Flat-black'ed the chassis. will have to mask off the black and paint the bottom part of the engine as well as the transmission unit. Also, the very edges of the sides need to be painted silver according to the instructions.
  15. Some more updates for you KS fan's. I masked off the seats and door panels. I primered the rest of the body panels. and I fixed some imperfections in the red paint and gave her another coat. Installing the front bumper was a huge pain in the rear. I was so nervous about possibly breaking either the bumper, or the entire front end as it's held on by a very week A-pilar and door sills! I hope I don't have to take it off again to finish building the front! EEEEEEEK! You can see why this model is taking some time!
  16. yea, prove it! There's a comedian that appears on The Bob and Tom show in the morning that has the same name as mine, but not sure how he spells his.
  17. This is an interesting topic, I have a few questions my selfe. Let's say I want to build a roll-cage or a custom exaust system for a model car. How can I bend small diameter aluminum tubing without getting half of it flat? Is there a hobbie'sts tool for doing that? You've seen the big heavy machine that exaust installers have for bending their tubing. Is there something like that for us? Also, how would you "weld" such tiny aluminum tubes together?
  18. ........................and no, that's not the day when we all eat Top Romen!
  19. Thank you me neither. Still have to paint doors and engine cover. I was looking at those door panels, and thinking of masking it and painting every other "stripe" red along with the center section of the seats. What do you think? A quick little mock-up for yea!
  20. Am I reading this thread right, do we have a celebrity in this forum? Or just same name? As for me, I vote for Jennifer Aniston, she is just simply pretty!
  21. I'd like to suggest a color for you. Since I'm doing mine in pearl-white, and the box-art on yours look's like a nice green, I suggest useing Colors By Boyd's 5903 Chezoom Teal Pearl. It's a nice dark metallic green that I'm going to be useing on my wide-bodied Toyota MR2. I bet it would look just as hot on your Countach. I'm not sure what plastic your body is molded in, but I'd suggest a gray primer for this green. Whatever you decided to do, I'm looking forward to it!
  22. My Koenig Diablo nearly had a brush with death earlier today. My beloved cat loves to be near me when I work on my models and she very delicately walks around our stuff. This time, she accidently knocked my favorite cup off the top shelfe and it nearly hit my Diablo! It bounced off the table, and onto the floor where it shattered. Ironically, it was a cup given to me on her behalf. A cup I loved to use for soaking up decal's! Anyway, luckily for "HER!", the model was unharmed and I continued to work on it today. I gave the red another coat, and I painted the interior flat black. I also painted the center of the wheels red as they should be. Yes the interior was already molded in black, but I didn't want it to look plasticky. The lighting is what is making the interior parts look a different shade of black. I'm tempted to mask the seats and paint the center flat red. What you think?
  23. Some reason that reminds me of Mr. Bean's movie where he is mistaken for a Dr. of the arts and is supposed to watch over "Mother's Wistler" painting. That movie was hilarious! That and Johnny English was Rowan Atkison's best movies! His last one, Mr. Bean's Vacation was sooooooooooo lame, my Dad and I ditched the movie 15 minutes after it started! LOL! Looking forward to Romday!
  24. Thank's buddy, and glad to see it spelled correctly! LOL! My kit seemed to include an option for building it stock, or KS style. Since my box-art shows a white one, I'm going to go with a pearl white finish here. Not sure which brand to go with for the pearl white though. I'm curious as to how in depth detailed your kit is. I wonder if Fujimi ever released a simpler curb-side model of the Countach?
  25. I agree, those wheels do not match the car whatsover. You can't put ugly peices of s-h-i-! on such a classic car. I dont' care if it's a full scale kit-car either. Even when a kit-car represents the real deal, you can't ruin it with those wheels. That guy needs a lesson on proper styling.
