Lee not to buy models including Revell is going to make is hard to stay in the hobby as most things will eventually end up being made there, it was like that many years ago in Australia we wouldn't buy anything made in Japan because of WW2 we all ended up buying Japanese anyway as will U eventually end up buying chinese made model kits. The Rolls is very interesting and I thought I knew all the Rollers that they made. Dingo

jbwelda we're going for a Rangie coz we've got an old Leyland P76 V8 motor in the backyard stoked to 5 liter and running on L.P.Gas (propane) that we'll drop into it, the orginak size of the P76 motor is 4.2 and it's an alloy engine, we did not do the work on it but a friend did so it's good. Dingo

diymirage, I had thought of doing that but with the wing being supglued into position and that being an after thought I didn't want to rip the paint work off so I just set it up like it is. Thanks for the thought though it just a good suggestion. Dingo

OK More detail has been added but as I have said in previous parts of this build it ia a slow one, here I have added detail to the window and taillinghts and soon the wheel arches will be done as well. Also the wing has been remounted as I found it to be a little out of position. Dingo

This little beaut was built way abck in the late 70's straight out of the box except for the decal on the side which is a 1/48th scale aircraft decal so it would give the little truck a bit of class, the decal reads "Cocktail Hour" and comes from a 1/48th scale B24J Liberator Bomber. I built a couple of trucks using the same decal and boy do I wish I could get it again as I would do it all over again. Sorry for the quality of the photo it is taken from a 35mm slide projected onto a small A4 paper screen. Dingo

Just thought I'd show you the type of stuff I do as I'm into not only the plastic 1/24/5th scale but a few other types as well. This one you've already see n 1/87th scale. The Chev Bison 1/32nd scale The Western Star 1/24th scale The Peterbilt 1/16th scale The Scania 1/32nd and made of Cardstock (paper) The Peterbilt 1/24th scale again cardstock, and yes it is available on the net. Unknown trcuk and scale but made of Lego by one of my Scouts for his "Modellers Badge" let's hope he picks up on plastic one day. Dingo

This fire truck was built for a lady friend I knew many years ago and although it is not any where near what our fire trucks look like she was glad I built it, you see way back in the 60's her husband was a fireman here in my home town and during a major dept. store fire he and 2 other firemen where trapped in the building, they where on the second floor fighting the blaze when it caught them as it jump from floor 3 down to floor 2 they thought they could get out through the windows at the front of the store but when they smashed the glass the building had nonmoveable shutters a idea on the outside, the 3 men died trying to save each so when I heard about this years later from this lady I asked if it was OK by her to build this unit, of which I presented it to her as a memorial to her husband and the other 2 brave guys. This started out as a OOB but then I got this silly idea to build it as a custom Oz rig so here is the start of that silly idea. Engine will be changed from the kit one to something else BUT not sure yet what it will be. As I said and is shown above & below the Aussie influance. Oh and if you're wondering what that is the Sky Blue colour with the stars and the Oz flag on the roof top deflector. Yea I know a sill idea but hey it works for me and trucks aren't built to a code, they're built to the owners ideas. Dingo

Thanks Nick, I'm like you luv the older cars in rallying that's why I build obscure machines even if I have to do it myself like this little girl. Yep she's a beaut and how do you like those rear flares and the bonnet intake even that is just for show (rear engine car), the lights on the front are suppose to represent the large Cibie Super Oscars but are actually truck Bull Lights form and Oz company called Auslowe in Victoria, Australia great mob they are to. This girl is just waiting for a can of Subie Blue the right clour it has to be made up as the one you buy of the shelf is not right, I have the colour No. and all as there are at least 3 different types of Scubie blue I want the WRX STi WRC one, wow not chep here in Oz. Actually Kuztom my R5 was going to be one of the supercar rally ones but I forgot to finish it off as such, and seeing that there are a couple more of these sitting in my LHS I'll go and get one and do the super era car they where monsters back then and some had huge rear wings. You ca get resin bodies but they're not cheap. Dingo

Thanks Zuk, I'd like to get another one of those Escort's just for the wheels so I could cast of sets of them but the kit is getting hard to come by, oh well never mind I'll keep trying and I'll put more of my cars up whenI get time to, getting busy now with a scout camp and a another club committee meeting coming up this weekend and next week being a maintainance week for the real car. This is my comlpete collection of built cars I still have some in their boxes waiting for paint etc. Oh no not the Lada, Rally Raid 4X4 Niva. Cardstock '72 Corolla built for the ARC and Clbman rallies. Corolla WRC Ford Escort of 70's Australian champ Greg Carr Dingo

Yea right Gary, I cut down the rear wing coz I already have one of these cars and for the fact I wanted something different & Mr Obama can go jump unless he's prepared to buy the paint for me and send it to Australia in our Prime Minister's luggage while he's there. Black cars when kept clean are the best because they look just sooooo good and yes I will be placing the white accent up the back panel but maybe without the Daytona name in it, it depends on how it works out, diymirage.
