Motorhome by Neoplan Cityliner
Dingo replied to Dingo's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Adam this will be a very slow build as (now don't get me wrong) money is very hard around here to keep as it always seems to go on paying bills & the like (food etc) besides being an Australian pensioner where our money is restricted anway but I'm not complaining (the don't get me wrong bit) even though I don't get a lot of money to build models like other people can and do on this and other forums I still enjoy doing this hobby even if it is slowly, it's great to see other scale models. Your RV Adam has helped me alot in giving me ideas and I thank U very much for that and I'm not disappointed that I wasn't the first to put up a motorhome or RV on this or any other forum, my wife thinks I'm jealous but I'm not, I couldn't care less or give a ######. Jimb, no not really they R very easy models to build and a real pleasure to have sitting on the shelf once they're done as they look so good as anything from the early days. Dingo

Motorhome by Neoplan Cityliner
Dingo replied to Dingo's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Tim, it's a different model to build and as U can see by mine and the other motorhome they make a great alternative to a standard bus or coach, as long as U don't oay wot I did for the kit $195aust man it hit my hip pocket had to pay it off over about 3 months oh well it's here now and I'm slowly working on it. Fitted a printed wooden floor form Jims Printable website it's a great site for stuff like floors and stuff U want like photo & pictures etc. Dingo -
OK Robert81 here is U'r request. Our R34 given to us by a friend who says we needed a decent car to run round in while in the city, yep this car will sit 4 days a week in a secure location til it's fury is released on Friday evening til Sunday night each week. Rear end Almost 3/4 front view Under bonnet front engine shot Yep the rocker cover says it's twin turbo The Dash The seating arrangements Hope U like 'em Now we R lazy with power windows. Note all roll cage & bar work has been removed so it can be legal for road use, as part of the win we where given all the bar work just in case we want to comp the car but that will not happen as I'm too old an no longer interested in comp work anymore except for watching it on TV. The project Motorhome, trailer & car. Dash will be doing away with black panel gauges for different ones???. Some 83cm's long Dingo

Mitsubishi Evolution
Dingo replied to Dingo's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
Well it certainly got some talking, here in Oz we got all versions of the Evo, from the plain lancer Evo then 1 thru 9 now we have the Evolution as made by Japan that's why I placed this question, here in Oz they seem think it's a 10 version but it's not you only have to go to a dealer here and they'll spell it out. I think Australia is one a few places around the world that got all versions and as for the Skyline guys here we call the Skyline GT-R but many do refer to it as the R38 or 9 I'm not sure, I'm not really into Nissans or many jap cars except for rally ones so if U decide to start up an arguement with me over it good on ya U win as I have know idea. Thanks for U'r thoughts on the Mitsubishi Evolution a car I have driven and rather fond of wish I could buy one. Dingo -
Is it a Mitsubishi Lanscer Evolution or a Evo10 if it's an Evolution why then do people when you say it's not an Evo10 insist it's a Evo10, Mitsubishi Japan calls it an Evolution not an Evo10 it's brochures call it an Evolution so why do epopel insist on calling it an Evo10 whn it's NOT. Courtsey of Mitsubishi Brochure from an Australian dealer. Dingo

A new car has been added to our stable, about one month ago a friend of ours bought a ticket in a local car lottery and we won this. R34 Skyline twin turbo ex-drift car rebuilt to a road car. We had no know idea our friend had done this until he turned up outside our home with the car then handed the keys to me. Dingo

STOLEN MODEL ALERT........
Dingo replied to Jeff Sauber's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Man that sucks, but I know exactly how U feel Jeff I had all my model trucks stolen when I trusted the treasurer of the club to take them to an agriculturer show in the mid North of my home state South Australia, it is also rumoured that he also took off with the club funds but that can't be comfirmed my model theft can be as he took other members models as well. Also many years ago I had a 1/16th scale truck on display at the local Kenworth dealer and it vanished never to be seen again, so Jeff I do really feel for you and I hope U do get it back and the scumbag get's his/her day in whatever way in comes. Dingo -
Once I use to belive everything I saw on the TV news and read in the newspaper BUT now that I'm older & much more wiser I don't even take things at face value and as others had said there is always two sides to evry story and what is the other side it doesn't really say. As for the theft of property I am surprised that those scumbags if it happened didn't smash the scale models just for the fun of doing so. Dingo

This is one of our local car carry transports a Mitsubishi Fuso I photographed it yesterday (9/06June/09) outside my home and through the kitchen window (yep our kitchen is at the front of the home) it was here to pick up a car that someone had sold maybe on evilbay or some other sales site on the net. JimB, the answers to U'r question R easy. First of photo behind all my pox is a poster from an Australian Mag called "Truckin' Life" and the rig is a K100B the large grill is a trickery of photography only. The second answer is yes it's a little late for the door in the rear of the sleeper but I have now changed it from the tarp to a covered wagon style covering "U.S. Old West style". Old west U.S. type covered wagon.

This is a replica of a car I had back in the 70's and used daily and raced on weekends until the cops canned it for me saying the guards where too wide. Note gauge on bonnet for fuel pressure, yep done even back in the 70's nothing new about that trick. Dingo

Hmmmm yea mine the cheese his is the chalk, mardtrp this is exacly wot I was telling JimB about I don't really care if the Pierce-Arrow is put together and painted ten time better than mine at least I have a go and another it could also be the difference between having lots of parts in the parts box and spares area and lots of money, I'm a 60 yr old who has even though built many trucks & cars over my years I haven't had the money even when working family is always first and my hobby last a long way last. mardtrp I had a look at the piece-arrow and yes it is a brilliant little truck but the diference is chalk & cheese his a complete show truck to win prizes, mine an every day working rig that would go camping, to the local shopping centre etc but that's where the differences ends we are in this hobby for a reason to help each other and everytime I am able to buy a new model I try and do better and JimB this is one thing U should remember it is only U that you have to please OK you are showing it here but once it's on here that's it. It sits in your display case for every and a day pleasing you and you get that satifcation of building something you like too bad about the guy who doesn't like it that's his problem not yours. Dingo

Jim I'm like you could draw a line if my life depended on it but at least I give it a go and my friend with a little care and a bit of patience so can you, about 12 months ago I needed a RHD dash for a '72 Ford Escort rally car as the kit one was LHD so I sat down and slowly but sure put a dash together OK it doesn't look like the kit one with all the fancy bits & pieces but when it's in the cab no one is going to see it anyway and if U'r going to put it up on the forum for all to see no one will give bad comment U never know they may even say where U went wrong in doing to build and help U right that wrong in a constructive way that's what this great forum is all about. OK so there R a few who will give U heartache just don't take any notice of them everyone else will help ya. Dingo

Nice dirt car pibull63, it's easy to call up ya pix from photobucket. When U'r in photobucket place ya cursor on the pic U want to copy to this forum then go to the bottom of all the links and the one marked IMG code left click on the code then right click that code go to copy click on that, the photo willo be copied when U come across to this forum place the cursor below the U'r writing and right click agian this brings up a panel that says U can now paste the pic to this forum it's that simple. That's about the best I can do to help U I only hope someone out there can make it a bit easier for U to get your great photos onto here and show then to all. Dingo

After much thought I have decided to do a small rear end rebuild on my Charger but need help on how to build a 4 link rear end or torion bar type rear end that doesn't rely on leaf springs, I am prepared to build coilovers if I have to and this would be my very first mod of this type on any model car. New rear end including drag tyres needed for this old girl, wheels will be inboard and tubbed. Motor still remain a secret until whole project including motorhome is finished. Dingo

Italeri Australian Western Star
Dingo replied to cossett's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Cossett I have to agree with you on the variable that can be ues to build this Star by Iateri, and while on the subect of great rig this model of yours certainly is just that one great & very nicely built model well done my friend. Dingo -
Jim, I don't think Aulowe would do a LHD dash for the Western Star being a builder of Australian truck stuff but K.F.S. would certainly do so, so it might be worth trying them rather than Auslowe I have one of their latest cats and I can't see any L.H.D. dashes in there for the Star. Here are some more pix of mine as it is just about done all it needs is camping gear and the tray to be reset due to slippage during glue drying. Inner tray will be hand painted to get the right wood grain texture and new battery box location Chrome tanks fitted to so it looks as though they where fitted as an aftermaket add on to extand range of rig. Dingo
