Not the same VR4 as above but another that was sent to me by a good friend of mine in England. This one arrived as a blank canvas so I just decaled it with a few decals to make a club car. The red dot on the front fender is a "Sporting Car Club of America" minature decal I got from somewhere, sorry can't remember. Dingo

The build slowly continues with the Galant, I have spent some time working on the roll cage and this is only a practise one the model one will be made of styrene, the solder is just too hard to get straight and hold in shape when working with other pieces of the cage. Dingo

Sorry Nick but it is being built as a dirt rally car not tarmac, I'm not a tarmac guy and it don't turn me on. Dingo

The reason this is a rally car with a difference is because not many of these heavy Mitsubishi vehicles where used in Australian rallying maybe overseas they where but not here. This one is part of a package of 5 I got in August and have now started to put together one by one. THe VR4 rally car is based on the 4 wheel drive 4 wheel steer version of the road car but instead of having the rear wheels steer like the road car they where fixed in position to give the rally version a better drive and cornering ability at speed no other reason but that. I hope U all enjoy my version and attempt to replicate this sporting version of a once great rally car in a curbside model. Dingo

The interior build has now started with this bed being built out of an old truck sleeper bunk, the figure is a converted Tamiya mechanic figure modified to represent a driver/co-driver at rest. Dingo -

Foxer yea I know what U mean it needs a place of its own but no I'm not going to build onto the house just for it or an of my other models, if and when I run out of room I'll box those up that have been on display for say 6 months or so and put new ones in their place where I put the boxed ones well that's another story I'll have to have a good think about that. THe reason I would build an extra room is because we don't own the house the state government does and they wouldn't like it. Dingo -

Zuk, I know what U mean I have a room that is only 12 foot by 11 foot and after a wall unit that's half broken down to fit a wall mount TV, stereo equipment & speakers, a workchair and lounge style chair go in there's not much room for anyhitng else but I manage mate. This coach has bee fun to build and would I do another yep in a heart beat (not bloody likely) I would like to do one in the colours of the coach company that I worked for here in Australia 40 odd years ago yep I'm that old, I use to drive express coach between Adelaide (my home town) and Melbourne, Victoria what use to be a 12 hour drive in those days now an 7 hour drive, modern roads R great. Oh well if I ever get that sort of money again and if it's still around I'll do a normal one. Dingo -

Well the exterior is done so here R some photo for U all to look at, I hope you all like what I've done so far. The interior is yet to be done but due to pocket money being so deep in my pockets I as yet haven't been able to do the interior besides I've got to send to the U.S., Europe and of-course Australia to get my bits and pieces for it. So please enjoy. Sorry about the distance shot this thing is 85cm or 2'9" long motorhome & trailer combined. Class 5 hitch by Galaxie. Looking forward. Trailer with clear blue side wall showing cardstock Lancer rally car & cardstcok and plastic equipment, car will be replaced by a plastic one. Front wheel trim. Distance shot showing both wheels. Extreme close-up of rear wheel trim. Dingo -
How good a driver are you?
Dingo replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I had a look at the test and couldn't answer one of them as they differ completely from the laws here in Australia, yea maybe that's why road rules around the world R stupid if you go to another country and drive on an International license it can be bloody confusing. I remember my time in the U.S. it took me the best part of 8 months to get the hang of it not only driving left hook but on the right side of the road and having the pedals the same as ours in the car but the gear lever on the right side man it was crazy but I got there and finally enjoyed 2 years of truck driiving through the U.S. of A., by the way it said I totally failed the test. Randx0 the car going into the trailer will either be a Lancer Evo model or a Pajero Desert Raider I'm not sure yet I do have the Pajero but not the Lancer either way one will go in Randx0. This photo shows the rear of the trailer a side shot will be up here when the camera returns form its rightful owner. Dingo -

Well it's almost finished just a few things to tidy up incuding that horrible black paint work, I have know idea what went wrong there after fitting the windows and cleaning then with warm water & nild dish-washing liquid then letting it all air dry the mesh U can see in all the photos is what come up, yes I have consider it to be the dish-washing liquid but it has never happened before maybe it's the water (hehehehe). Door open Door closed Coach with trailer Rear view of rig, the trailer will hold a rally car when finished. Dingo -
OK so the Pajero is't a full blown rally car but it will be built into a Dakar vehicle when it turn comes up the other well they will be built OOB yep stock box no fancy stuff as I don't want to wreck them not at the price I paid, average price ranged from $30 for the Pajero to $58 for the Alpine 110 yep not cheap in Australia and when U'r on a pension it takes time to say this amount BUT I ain't complaining in fact I'm happy as my rally car collection is growing monthly. Yep 5 great kits and I can't wait to start building but I will have to as I have no glue at the moment, but it's not far of. Dingo

I am in need of info of where I can buy a 1/24th scale model of our Nissan Skyline R34 with opening bonnet (hood) and motor for detailing. The car we have is an Mspec Model but an Rspec will do the job if the M is not made in plastic, resin is not a go as I can't work with it (health reasons) but I can use resin aftermarket small parts it's just the big bodies. So if anyone ou there can tell me or let me know where I can buy a kit of this model it would be muchly appreciated. Dingo in Australia.

I dunno know if I've put this up before or not and as it's 1.25am on Saturday morning I'm not going through the W.I.P. section to find ot so here it is again but only a bit more of what I have done to this car. The motor has been built but also it's been removed for further detailing, including new extractors. The old extractors make of solder, new ones will be made of solder but only better. 6 coats of Ocean Blue rattle can paint it will then be decaled and have another 6 coat of clear before being polished then floor shined for a lasting finish . Redoing dash to be a bit better including gauges. Centre console has start switch (round red button) alnog side is a rocket launcher switch to act as an ignition switch ( this switch was filed out of a piece of kit sprue). The funny part of this switch bit was when I finished it I dropped it onto the floor luckily for me the floor is not carpet so it was easy to find using a luxeum LED torch man R those thing bright U should all buy one helps finds small parts. Went to the city today 12/08/2009 and got me these 3 great kits 2 rally cars and 1 that will be turned into a rally car, what I believe was one of the greatest rally car ever built by Mitsubshi the VR4 not with standing ofcourse the heavily modified Starion in it's day. The 2 kit rally cars will be O-O-B cars and the VR4 will be built in a team colour when I can find one to do. Dingo

Um?? know wot U eam about un-marked cars we have camera cars here for the good ol' speed camera but they stick out like a sore thumb due to the one light on the front which is a driving light and they sit in positions where camers cars should sit know wot I mean. We have a real big arguement at the monent in my home twon with a fix speed camera, the government says it's there for road safety but we say No and that's because they've put it at the top of a down hill run under a rail bridge that is brand new, the raod has only been open for traffic use for about 8 weeks now and not one car crash has happened BUT they insist it not for revenue raising but road safety yea right and my granny rides a broom stick side saddle so she can get off quickly. Thanks for that info dwc, maybe my next trooper car wll be an porcipine so all the local rednecks can have popshots at it or it can sit on the side of the road as roadkill (hehehehe again). Anyway we''l see what happens and if I do build another trooper car don't want to many cops in my collection hey. Dingo -

dwc43 I could'e put a dozen antennas on it but I didn' want to over do it besides I have no idea what U.S. police cars look like other than what I see on TV and who believes that ###### anyway, TV is a fantasy world and I live in the real world where porcipines R small animal not big metal boxes on wheels (hehehehehe). Only kidding dwc but I do kknow wot U mean and I would put more on but I'm running out of Hypodermic needles to cut down for antennas. Dingo -
Fujimilover, I agree with U this site is great it doesn't pick you for being a lousy builder not like others I've been on, I've just quit a site coz they accused of of doing something a couple of years ago that Inever did, so I toldl them that if they live in glass hoouse they shouldn't throw stones coz it will come back to bite them and the same goes for all these other forums who think they are the best, it will come back to bite them one day and they'll fin themselves without any members but just the admin & co-ordinator guys playing by themselves or with themselves. That's about all I have to say on this subject now. Dingo

Nick no one has told me anything bad about you I must say that first of. I have had so much grief over my model builds latel Nick I don't know whether I'm coming or going the rubbish that has come my way has been out of this world just like yours and as I don't know a lot about what has happen with you I won't go into too far and I'll leave it at that, like all other on this forum and a couple of other forums that are good to me I can't say any and nor will I say any bad words it just gets you in the crapper. So I'll leave it at that and say I hope it settles down for you real soon Nick we can't afford this mud throwing that's going on too many forums are starting to fall apart because of it we don't need it here.
