Question about the Revell Nova kits.
von Zipper replied to ffreak's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I used the MCG p/e set on this Revell Nova, but didn't use the p/e grill I was very happy with the fit. It's hard to see, but I used the '307' fender tags/marker lights -
RESIN PRODUCT DIFFICULTIES
von Zipper replied to Drake69's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The same thing happened to me around two weeks ago .......And it was the Buick Inline 8 that was holding up the order. I bought one of his Buick I-8s a couple of weeks earlier and it was so good I wanted another. The last time I ordered from Kitchen Table Resins-Ken sent an invoice, I paid him by Pay-Pal and had my parts inside of one work week !! This time he said his mold was bad and would take a few days to make a new one- If you ever deal with Ken Kitchen you'll know his word is gold ! He will keep in touch and has always contacted me the day my order was mailed out. Here's a shot of Ken/ Kitchen Table Resins 1941-51 Ford flat head straight 6 cylinder engines that fits right into the AMT '41 woodie with NO fit issues- -
krylon, whats the verdict?
von Zipper replied to robdot's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've been using Krylon for years, mostly use the cheap Wal-Mart primer and it works out well for me. I always put the cans in warm water for awhile before spraying it. Krylon and Dupli-Color both have the same address= The Sherwin-Williams Company 101 Prospect Ave. N.W Cleveland, Ohio 44115 -
To All The Friends Out There!
von Zipper replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Now that you mentioned it, The guy that delivered a pizza here a couple of hours ago kind of looked like a zombie. I didn't give him a good tip because he kept trying to bite my arm when I reached out the door to take the pizza...... I like Zepparella ALOT !! -

Maybe he meant to say RAPTOR instead of RAPTURE ? I think he meant a mean bird was coming at 6 O'clock-NOT the end of the earth !!! -

I saw that - I'd be "well adjusted" too if I was a big fat guy with a smoking hot girl friend !!! Me too - but I knew that before I married her....I was young and she was kind of hot. -

"IF" today is the day of rapture, and the CDC says there could be a Zombie take over--- Would it be alright to start hunting them zombies early ??......before they turn into zombies-Ya know...like preventative medicine. I think RAPTURE means: We're going to have to listen to RAP music thru out eternity. -
AMT stands for "Aluminum Model Toys", now a days they are not made from aluminum or considered toys !!! here's what Wikipedia says about the topic of "Model Cars" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_car Most of the parts for this diorama came out of AMT kits or made from scratch, the figure and the tree are for G scale trains and the wood came from my back yard

Tic-Toc, Tic-Toc
von Zipper replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's an older model compressor, Dr. Cranky, they say it puts out up to 40psi. I just got the regulator Friday afternoon and haven't had time to fire it up yet to find out for my self how it works. Maybe we could have an autographed copy of your new book ? -

Thank, Dr. Cranky. It's a Paasche compressor that I bought a few years ago with a cheap air brush, Now I have a Paasche "H" air brush set, and the last piece of the puzzle was the regulator, then had to go to the hardware store to get the copper pipe and fittings. The whole set up was right at $200.00---your 'How To' videos are priceless !! Thanks for doing them !! -

Dr. Cranky can tell the future too !!! Spooky....... I've learned alot from his "How to" videos, It's great that he takes the time to help people the way he does. Got me motivated to dig my air brush out and give it another try, just got the regulator and water trap in the mail-and it's ready to go-so I'll be following his helpful videos -

Is it still a flathead?
von Zipper replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
As it's been said many times around here- "Build for your self" BUT if you add Ardun heads on any engine block, What you now have is a HEMI,(hemispherical chamber) An over head valved engine that now has push rods- In the early days of the Ford Model T production, the Dodge Brothers were manufacturing more than half the parts used to build a Model T. The Chevrolet brothers started out making after market speed parts for the Model T long before they started their own car company-- Much the same way that Zora Arkus Duntov worked with Ardun to make after market parts for Ford Motor Co. -
Is it still a flathead?
von Zipper replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I guess if your going to talk "technicly"-- A "Valve-N-Head" block IS an over head valve engine, if the valves are in the block and the heads are flat-and don't have any valves, It's a flat head. Once you put Ardun heads on a flat head block--NOW it's an overhead valve engine. It used to be a flat head-but now it's an over head engine.(where are the valves now ?) You could have a brand new Toyota that was made out of recycled Cadillacs....but it's a Toyota now. -
Could you make a "Model Car Magazine" issued kit(s)??, Maybe some cool-out of production kits the way the Model King did a while back, or the black/white box kit of the 1970 Ford by Hobby Heaven. Maybe some current kits by Revell or AMT as the MCM Issue the way they did the Boyd Cottington kits? just thinking with my fingers...
