  1. I was 24 years old before I figured out that Willie was NOT one of Ozzie and Harriets kids...........
  2. Although I'm not a big fan of that style/trend of cars, it's very interesting how the name came to be.
  3. I've seen this guy driving his Model A- around Traverse City Michigan a few times, I think he works for Hagerty Insurance-Or he's around there alot. Our local news covers his story quite often. If you think a car with points, spark plugs and a carb. is a bummer-- Wait till you drive a vehicle with mechanical brakes.
  4. I used to think my ex-wife knew every thing about every thing......Until I found Google.
  5. That looks fantastic !! Nice build. That would be a great car to put a Ken Kitchen resin 170 ci straight 6cyl. in .
  6. I'll send my order for a subscription out tomorrow- Could you pin a topic on how and where to send the order ? Can it be done on line and use PayPal ? What about gift subscriptions-the Holler Days are coming after all....
  7. Maybe there could be a "Magazine Subscription Drive"- There are 8,077 members here at last count. There may not be dues or fees-but there are expenses. I know I don't have a subscription either-I get the magazine at the hobby shop when they have them or trade for older issues from my friends.
  8. I was born in 1963,and had the doobie-ous experience of growing up IN Detroit,MI. There were alot of cars like this around there back then--- I think they were driven by the Chiefs of the Smackahoes Tribe ?........
  9. Your truck is a true work of ART ! I keep coming back to look at it over and over again, finding something new every time. It's like telling a story with pictures. Thank You for sharing your talent. ( I think I can smell the rust when it's on my screen?)
  10. Looks GOOD !! I like the way you tinted the windshield.
  11. After tipping the Tenax bottle over and spilling it, I came up with this. The bottle is a press fit into the cap-
  12. I've been in all kinds of funks in my life, but a modeling funk is the best one so far.
  13. Thanks for the nice comments on my model. It was built entirely from the part box. AMT '32 Ford coupe gave up its frame I think the engine is from an AMT '56 Ford or a '57 T-Bird Revell '37 Ford pick up cab/grill AMT '36 Ford coupe gave its head lights and carbs/air cleaners AMT '41 Ford woodie gave its dash board and back seat AMT '29 Model A gave its rear trunk section Lindberg L-700 gave up its wheels and tires. Then alot of time watching the true masters of weathering and kit bashing (you know who you are...) and applying those techniques to my builds. Thanks again-See Ya next time-
  14. I used to date an Amish girl.......... After a week, I was driving her buggy...........
  15. Thanks for the comments on my models-I'm glad you liked them. The dust and webs are the real thing, I put that car on a 1x6 board and put it in the rafters of my 1;1 barn for about a year and a half. Every couple of months I would give it a dusting of the dull coat shown below to hold the webs in place and build them up. I could'nt have built the Nova as correct with out Dan's('59 Impala) help-he sent me the Power Glide trans and alot of good advice on detailing/weathering. THANKS DAN !! The Nova is a build of my first 1:1 car that I bought in 1978 for $50.00 - I don't have any pictures of my Nova but the model looks just like it There are alot of cool models in this thread-thanks for posting your pictures !!
  16. There are alot of cars, trucks & vans that I wish they would make in scale from the '70s. The 1970s was a growing time for cars and trucks in the U.S. A few of the things that come to mind are- the '70s started out with round head lights and ended with square head lights, started with points and ended with electronic ignition, and the worse of all to performance- un leaded gas. It would be cool if some one could make an old fashion cartoon flip book of every year full sized Chevy cars to see how they evolved from then to now. From the '70s I wish they made a '76 Ford Torino Elite, a '76 Chrysler Cordoba and a '76 Buick Regal in scale....but that's just my modelers dream.
