  1. What is the gray fabric you used in the interior? Looks like ideal carpeting for one of my projects.
  2. I wouldn't hold my breath. According to the podcast interview with Ed Sexton that was recently posted to this forum, he said he didn't see much opportunity in producing larger scale kits.
  3. Yes, and sad news. Dr. Sid, who figures prominently in the film and tended to Senna at the end, died a couple of days ago.
  4. I saw one of these on the street yesterday (Knoxville, TN, of all places!) in a matte/satin black color. It's a bit bigger than I would have thought, and it looks absolutely lethal.
  5. This is one of the most radical Adlers, most of which were pretty typical of the time. Here's a cabrio version. Hosted on Fotki And one from 1937. Hosted on Fotki
  6. In doing research for the Jo-Han Mercedes 500K Roadster Limousine (a 2-door hardtop), it appears that "Limousine" in German basically refers to a hardtop car, regardless of doors - "saloon" in Britain, "sedan" in the U.S. Christian, what do you think?
  7. Killer. That's the color scheme I have in mind for mine, but perhaps a bit darker paint. Nice work on reducing the body seam. Did the metallic paint make that a chore, or did you use some original technique to handle it?
  8. If you do it, it really has to work like journalism with a prepared list of questions that are easy to respond to. This would be a good task for our members, to provide the questions they want to know about.
  9. Depending on the subject matter and your topic title, your post may have been moved by a moderator to a more appropriate place. Check Q&A.
  10. I think it's also a great idea for the magazine.
  11. Stunning work all around. This is a joy to watch.
  12. One of the best packing jobs I've received on a built-up model was a 1/25 Maserati 3500: Packed lightly with foam and a bit of bubble wrap inside a plastic display case that was securely taped, then boxed with more bubble wrap, then placed in another box with peanuts. That plastic display case made all the difference.
  13. Erik, I thought that you or anyone else interested in this subject might get something out of this video. [media=]
  14. 390 shots. Some extremely rare stuff. http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/event/304/2012-Goodwood-Revival.html
  15. Outside the box shelves: metal sheet, or metal mesh such as found on outdoor tables and furniture. Or cut-to-order mirror glass.
  16. 1. Said poll was no longer valid because it was created to select a club's best models in 2011. It took an astute member to point out to a number of members who wanted to cast a vote that the revived post was old, closed and obsolete. But the pictures were great to see again. Maybe we should take a poll to find out what percentage of members pay attention to the origination date when they see a thread title of interest. 2. And this snarky comment is making this place get better...how? Okay, I ASSUME that most threads are fairly recent, and I will save you from saying, "You know what 'I assume' means...?"
  17. I like to see the old threads, too, and I said so.
  18. There's nothing wrong with finding an old thread and wanting to express your admiration. But it does get confusing - especially in a recent case of a poll from a year and a half ago that can't be acted on. And there are other recent examples of bringing back threads from five years ago and more. This is what has been called "zombie threads." It would be good if the person who reactivates an old thread would do the courtesy to your fellow members to identify the fact that this is an old thread, and from when. Otherwise, much confusion ensues.
  19. Still looks good, 4-1/2 years after you posted this thread.
  20. Very nice shots. Looks like the real deal.
  21. Well, I appreciate your literacy. You're one of the few people who knows how to spell "piques my interest" correctly.
  22. He said it was the Italeri, which was also boxed as Testors-Italeri. Far more accurate than any Monogram 540K and useful as a donor kit for upgrading Monogram (or vice-versa). Monogram 540K fenders are totally inaccurate.
  23. I also am a big reader on the history of the Knights Templar, such as "The Cross and the Crescent.". But what does any of this have to do with the subject of this forum? Anybody read any good car books lately? In addition to Agatha Christie's Poirot novels, I read books about the cars I want to build, such as "Mercedes-Benz," an illustrated history by Schlegelmilch and Hartbrink, "The Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental" by Raymond Gentile, etc., etc. Plus many back issues of "Automobile Quarterly" and "The Encyclopedia of SuperCars." I think this was the original intent of this thread. As for "Fifty Shades of Gray," can I get that from DupliColor?
  24. I can't imagine this kind of loss. My daughter is everything to me, and my heart goes out to you.
  25. This sounds very serious. What is this about?
