  1. But...what about your princess sister in Ethiopia who needs help getting her millions out of the country?
  2. Here's a really nice reference gallery on the 1:1, which shows how accurate the kit is, and what a good job this build is. http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/default.aspx?carID=16407&i=4#menu
  3. If the paint stays nearly chrome-like, it would be very similar to the SLS Alu-Beam color.
  4. On page 1, he said he got them from Pro Tech... http://protechmodelparts.com/ (Click on Model Car Parts Catalog, then click on the parts numbers to see pictures of the parts) Of course, there are many other sources.
  5. This is looking so good, I wish you'd finish it in its classic form without lowering it.
  6. Beautiful, but I don't see the engine shots people are talking about.
  7. Here's a link I keep as a bookmark for checking on 1/8 scale kits and parts on eBay. Currently, there are 9 pages there. http://www.ebay.com/sch/Automotive-/2580/i.html?_nkw=1%2F8&_armrs=1&_from=R10&_ipg=&_pcats=1188%2C220&_sop=10&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1581
  8. Perfect.
  9. If a 4-time Alfa owner is a saint, it's Saint Sebastian.
  10. Bumping this up to make the most current thread more current.
  11. This is an older post. There is a newer one from Terry today saying his wife is home from the hospital. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48542
  12. So, when someone makes a post about a Merc (meaning Mercedes, and that's common on posts), is it pronounced Merk or Merss? I usually think they're talking about a Mercury.
  13. Or pronouncing Alfa Ro-MAY-oh like Romeo & Juliet. I've owned four Alfas.
  14. Two videos I saw pronounce it paa-shay or paa-she (paa as in "cat) or somewhere in between. It's a Chicago company.
  15. Aaarggh. That may be unknowable. But based on the fact the company was Italian, I would guess ess-chee, even though ESCI is an acronym. swannymodels.com says: "By the way, the name, “ESCI,” is actually an acronym, like RADAR or SCUBA. It is pronounced “esh-she,” although just what the letters E.S.C.I. stands for is still anybody‘s guess. If anyone knows, myself and a few other devotees would sure like to hear about it! (Editor's note; The acronym ESCI stands for Ente Scambi Coloniali Internazionali which translates as Company for International Colonial Trade.)" This from Wikipdeia: "This article is about the Italian model aircraft manufacturer... ESCI was a well-known Italian model aircraft manufacturer. It is no longer in business. It specialised in static models. They started manufacturing aircraft, military vehicle, car kits and figures around late '70s early '80s. Some of their kits were famous and also officially awarded (Model Fan magazine) for their accuracy and smoothness. They were pioneers of engraved panel lines at injection moulded kits alongside with Hasegawa." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ESCI
  16. It'll be interesting to see the sales figures on the Hudson. Based on the rabid interest I've seen on this forum and others, seems like this is going to be a best-seller among the hardcore modelers, which might spill over into more casual model markets.
  17. This is coming along great. That gauge cluster is magnificent. Maybe the interior upholstery panels could use a very subtle wash? Or did you do that when you said you did some interior weathering?
  18. Very nice work, Joel. But what is shoe goo?
  19. Lucky indeed. Two things: • That ain't no '57 Chevy - looks like a '55 • Nothing personal, but I really wish that some people on this forum would add a real description to their titles and posts before sending us to other links. I hate these mystery posts.
  20. Testors also released some Italeri kits.
  21. I see a lot of brand shifting in 1/16 classic kits. For example, the Gunze Sangyo Rolls Phantom III has variously been sold with the Revell, Entex, and Anmark labels, and I think there's even one more.
