  1. Very nice work!! Love seeing cars of the era.....I have only two complete....but want to build more.
  2. a little more work done.........
  3. The typical F1 hospitality traveling unit cost what a good NASCAR Cup team......good luck to them....but doubt they get much TV time in the back. I still watch when I can.....but give me 70's and even 80's.......
  4. kinda reminds me of this from 'Sunset Blvd'
  5. I do not think Haas really has the depth in talent or cash. Wanr an American in F1?? 2017 Danica will be in a Haas F1 car.....rescued from a sinking SH NASCAR team. Haas wants it.....Bernie wants it......Danica needs a light open wheel car to win again.
  6. I've accepted I have bought my last Modelhaus items. I fully understand why they are swamped, fantastic product......just seems ordering adds to their problems. Thanks Don and Carol.
  7. Here's mine.....inspired by a movie vehicle......... Wheels and tires are off a toy.....closer to stock that kit supplied. I'd love to see Revell tool stock wheels and reissue.
  8. I too like that kit. I just glue the doors closed. Nice clean build.
  9. A group in Charleston that has a contest and vendor show.
  10. Thanks all!!!!
  11. Inspired by a drawing of a London Custom Bus I started this MANY years ago. My goal of finishing some of my many stalled projects.....this one is next. The body and seats were designed in CorelDraw and cut in ,030 sheet plastic on my 25 watt laser table. The model sralled because the model was not coming out as I had hoped. But this much work....... I need to finish. Thanks for lookin!!!
  12. This model is as much a show car than actual drag car. Started as a Tom Daniel S'cool bus kit....converted from duel motor to a single with shortened chassis. This project was started back 2012 and stalled after I finished the chassis and body work....but stalled when I could not decide paint and graphics......so I just picked and hoped for the best!! I made the conventional bus into more a city 'flat nose' bus to mirror a certain movie vehicle!! Tall injector stacks are from a AMT Beetle Bus (soon to be reissued) most of the rest kit parts or sheet stock. K&S tinted clear stock for windows, reg clear for front windshield. Tamiya paints and my own decals. I will clear it in a week or two but will not look different....calling it 'stalled #2 complete' Thanks
  13. I can reply here.....but still 404 Error on new post?????
  14. what why how I can post this but not a reg post?????????
  15. LOL!!! Because my 1/1 car is a 46 Ford I still need the IMC kits for Grilles and hood trim....so all is good.......not sure what I will do with otherwise complete 48 Ford kits!!! But if thats what it took to get a new 46-48 coupe......I'm OK!!
  16. Started in 2007 when these Jada kits first appeared. I bought it out of curiosity about this new to plastic kit company Jada. A well known die cast manufacture brought out 4 plastic kits. Mustang, Camaro, Ford GT and Vette. The 'models' shown on the box were their die casts and were nothing like the plastic kit inside. While they did have the Jada GIANT wheels and tires they shared noting else. This build stalled because I wanted to use a more realistic wheel and tire from Pegasus in place of the 28 inch provided. This did cause a bit of a gap between tire and wheel rim....but I can live with it. No real rear axle or suspension caused me to put it all back in the box....until now. Overall the kits are well engraved and had a good shape/look. So to restart this build I cobbled up a simple rear axle and trailing arms. The rest of the kit was built box stock other than the wheel/tires. I like the look of the finished kit. The new smaller diameter front wheels made her really nose down.....but nothing is hitting the ground but speed bumps would be dangerous!!! Tamiya Camel yellow with Dupli-color blacks. I'd like to have seen what Jada would have done had they kept in the plastic biz.....some parts of this kit are better than the current big three.....anyone have any background on the Jada plastic kits??? Thanks
  17. I'll post asap thanks
  18. While this version of the Batmobile is not my favorite design......it is one of the most unusual vehicles and the kit builds very nicely and sometime unconventionally. It is also the biggest Batmobile......a little bigger than a Hummer, which is what it reminds me of.....kinda a cross between a Hummer and a Scarab beetle!!! Kit has a simplified engine that is very hard to see once vehicle is built. Interior is complete but simple. Body is multi part affair that goes together very well and fits excellently. Tires are all new rubber like units that are big and I can see on other Sci-Fi or off road builds. Most difficult part was the rear 'wings' support. But take your time and DO NOT remove parts all at one time......left and right are very different and are keyed one way or another. I attached the main supports to the rear axle first then the smaller supports to the wings....then dry fitted the wings before applying Tamiya Super Thin glue to them.....worked like a charm!!! Paint is hot rod gray primer over all parts while still on trees. Then as sub-assemblies were completed Tamiya Gun Metal was applied in a misting coat.....allowing some of the primer to show. Washes of Tamiya black brought out details. Overall a great kit even if the subject may not be your cup of tea.....a fun build and some cool parts!! Thanks for looking!!!! Kit in transport now.....due next month or so.
  19. My first hobby!!! When I moved to So Cal in 1960 the kid next door built model cars.......We talk and visit each other often even though we are 3000 miles apart....more than a hobby!!! thx
  20. Color is random......I just like the contrast of a day-glo color and black Sharpie. I have a touch of color blindness so sharp contrast is a good thing!!! Thx
  21. My model room has needed a complete reset for a while....I am in the final stages of that now. So maybe now I can get more work turned out....not this good in ten years!!!! .Thanks
  22. Slixx had a bad batch of decals a number of years ago......are your new issue decals or older items. You are doing nothing wrong....the clear carrier was applied wrong....to thick, thin or an issue with type of carrier. If you just bought them I'd check with Slixx. I've manufactured decals for almost 40 years....happens to the best.
