This photo of five of my Deuce models was taken by Helen Bradley for the official Northwest Deuce Days program to promote the Deuce Days in Scale model car show which takes place the same day as the huge out door car show Sunday July 24 in Victoria BC Canada. The four outer models are replicas of cars that will be at this year’s event. From left to right Left to right - Lorne Kerr’s black ’30 Roadster built as a Deuce, which he owned and sold in the sixties, then found it again and rebuilt better then ever - Vic Edelbrock’s Brizio built red & flamed chopped Deuce 5-W Coupe appears on Deuce Days posters - The yellow Goodguys Deuce Sedan is a tribute to the late Gary Meadors who was a street rodding pioneer and model car hobby supporter - Bill Peratt’s Pinkee built blue chopped Deuce 3-W Coupe also appears on Deuce Days poster - Ed Loewen’s tangerine chopped Deuce Sedan he has owned and raced since 1962 For more about Deuce Days in Scale check the website http://deucedaysinscale.shawwebspace.ca/

Phildaupho replied to Phildaupho's topic in Contests and Shows
Deuce Days in Scale getting real close. I have seen the list of the real hot rods coming to Victoria and it is fabulous. If you can make it, I guarantee you not be disappointed with either the the full scale or model car scale shows. Photos by Helen Bradley. Models of the poster cars which will be at both shows - Vic Edelbrock's 5-W and Bill Peratt's 3-W -
´34 Ford Pickup.

Another righteous hot rod from your production line! -
Wow this looks so tough. It really captures a little Deuce Coupe attitude.
-
I really like the transformation. Great looking channeled Deuce
-
You really captured the look of a great era of drag racing. Extremely well done.
-
An excellent example of a sixties mild custom. Great color combination and subtle scallops. The wheels, narrow whites and full length lakes pipe were the perfect choice.

Very nice hot rod and very interesting thread on the subject of Deuce building

Phildaupho replied to Art Laski's topic in Contests and Shows
Hi Art - I enjoyed the photos from your show but I had to use the My Fotki link as the other one kept taking me back to the forum post !!?? There were definitely some impressive models for the public to see. -
Olds powered '50s traditional Deuce 5 window
Phildaupho replied to traditional's topic in Model Cars
Yes I concur with all who commented before me. I especially like this shade of yellow. Depending on how I tilt my screen it looks like caramel or Dijon mustard. Very tastey indeed. -
Deuce 5-Window - Dan Gurney Tribute - now Under Glass
Phildaupho replied to Phildaupho's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hi Steve As you can see, it took awhile but back at it and hope to get it completed by month's end. Here is another interior view. -
Missed this until now and glad I took a look as i am very impressed with your model of perhaps the best looking uniquely Canadian car. I am also very fond of the Canadian Pontiac bodied Chevrolets of the 50's and 60's and the the second generation Canadian Valiants that were Valiants in front and Darts in the rear.

Deuce 5-Window - Dan Gurney Tribute - now Under Glass
Phildaupho replied to Phildaupho's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I finally got back to work on my Deuce 5-W tribute to Dan Gurney’s first California car. The interior and engine are complete and the rest just needs final painting assembly so I hope to have it completely finished by the end of June ENGINE & TRANSMISSION - The engine is distinctively Gurney being a small block Ford with Gurney-Weslake heads. The induction system is from the MPC 1965 Eagle Indy Car and in reality could be an electronic version of the original mechanical fuel injection system. The valve covers and heads are also from the MPC kit while everything else comes from the Deuce kit. For most of his life Dan liked shifting gears but in recent years he has had knee problems so the transmission is a modern multi-speed automatic. INTERIOR – The contoured seat is from the Phantom Vickie. There is a roll-cage, four point safety belts for the driver and seatbelts for the passenger. The dash has the gauge panel from the Rat Roaster and there is a small console on the transmission tunnel. The steering wheel has the Gurney Eagle in the center and paddle shifters behind. -
Deuce Days in Scale Victoria BC Canada July 24, 2016
Phildaupho replied to Phildaupho's topic in Contests and Shows
This photo of my Deuce models was taken by Helen Bradley as a scale representation of what the Deuce Days outdoor car show will look like on July 24 in Victoria BC The 1/1 Deuce Days taking place at the same time as Deuce Days in Scale is going to be the largest gathering of Deuces in the world. Of the 1148 cars officially registered, 558 are Deuces!! Cars are coming from all over North America as well as Australia, new Zealand, Finland and Sweden. Deuce Days in Scale will unlikely match these statistics but will easily exceed the scale of the largest Deuce model of 1/8 scale and more likely be heading for 1/4 scale. It is going to be a very busy weekend in Victoria so if you want to attend you should make your travel plans sooner than later. If you are travelling to the Pacific Northwest for an extended time you could also take in a Goodguys event the following weekend in Pul For more information on Deuce Days in Scale check the website http://deucedaysinscale.shawwebspace.ca/ -
Very nice indeed and I really like your photography.

These Dekon Monzas are very cool cars both back in the day and currently vintage racing. I am also impressed with the M&S Eagle Toyota.
-
Absolutely beautiful classic racing car replica.
-
Beautiful GTs. Going to have to get one of these. I really like the side by side with the C7 which shows the potential for a mid-engine Corvette

'32 Ford Sedan Delivery - 80's Smoothie Billet Rod
Phildaupho replied to Dennis Lacy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This is going to a great looking Deuce from a period I remember well but is not often recently replicated -
Wicked hot rod Deuce Todor

Mike - You appear to be Mr. 1/32. I really like your 34 Coupe. So much "small" detail"!! Looking forward to seeing the T-Bucket completed.
-
That is the coolest 62 I have ever seen. When I got my drivers license in 65 my parents 62 beige 4 door Galaxie 500 was definitely not cool. As a kid I never had an urge to build a model of a 62.
-
Thanks Mike - I have Both the Lindberg 1/32 Ford Ford Convertible and 36 Ford Roadster in my stash. Both seem to have pretty good looking bodies but the challenge is finding appropriate wheels if not building stock. I built the two little Deuces to make sure there would be at least a couple of Deuces in the Small Scale Class at Deuce Days in Scale

I was given was two curbside 1/32 ’32 Ford kits and although they were issued under two different company names, they appear to be virtually identical. One, which I will refer to as the gold car, came as Palmer Road Runner Series kit molded in yellow with a chrome sprue. The red car came as Life-Like Hobby Kits Collector’s Series kit molded in red with no chrome parts. THE GOLD CAR – The molded in interior was removed to paint separately. Some of the molded on stock body details were removed. The windshield was chopped and opening enlarged. The roof was also chopped and reshaped. The taillights are pinheads. The paint is Testors lacquer Inca Gold and clear. The chrome rally wheels arrived with the red car but had narrow white wall tires that were of too large a diameter so were substituted with slot-car tires. THE RED CAR – Someone had already started the conversion to a Highboy Roadster by cutting the frame away from the fenders probably to convert it to a slot-car. I was able to adapt part of the frame, wheels, tires, suspension bits and side pipes from a Hornby 1/32 C4 Corvette race-car kit. I cut out the molded interior to paint separately and sanded off some of the molded on stock body details. The windshield was chopped and opening enlarged. The taillights are pinheads. The front brakes are from a slot-car. This was my first use of Archer 3D louver decals and I was very pleased with how they applied. The paint is Testors Gloss Red enamel.
