We might be referring to different things but I can see what I refer to as side walls in your underneath photo. I have attached a photo of the Fujimi chassis sprue. I hadn't really noticed before but the area above the upper A-arm should be closed in to give a full side wall. AMT may have actually done a better job of rendering the side walls.

Thanks Dan for posting your Sedans. Here are a few more built by my buddies for Deuce Days in Scale that takes place here in Victoria BC Canada. Next one is July 20 2025 in conjunction with the world's largest Deuce car show - Northwest Deuce Days. A good example of an out of the box build by Mike Pearson A Sedan Delivery conversion by Oly Moilanen Resin body Four Door by Russ Ferguson Chopped Ardun powered Hi-Boy by Russ Ferguson, Check out the wire wheels

Good lucking Cobra. Let's have a look at your engine. The Fujimi kit does have one important advantage over the Revell kit in that it has engine compartment side walls

As we anxiously await of the availability of the Revell ‘32 Ford Sedan we have been led to believe will be reissued sometime in 2024 I thought it would be fun to start this thread to illustrate how popular this kit became during the limited time it was previously in production which might in a way help assure and hasten its re-release. The flathead engine, stock taillights, cowl lights and wire wheels in the kit were also welcomed for use on many other projects As well, the original kit also generated a number of after-market bodies based on its interior such Four-Doors, Chopped versions and Sedan Deliveries. I will start things of with a couple of my Sedans and I look forward to seeing your builds. Both of my Sedans have chopped tops. The yellow one was built as a tribute to the late Gary Meadors the founder of The Good Guys car shows and the other is a replica of a longtime Vancouver BC hot rod. I have one unbuilt kit left in my stash which I plan to build later this year but will purchase at least a couple more when they become available.

Thanks Allan. That is a major project you have as there were a lot of GT40s. How many do you actually want to build? I have one more planned for this year and maybe another in the future and I previously built an MPC MK IV but that will only make 4 for me. Have you checked out GT40 posts by Gramps46? -
The parts from the Deuce Roadster work very well with the Model A giving it a great stance. Very good looking hot rod.

Thanks Alex - I really enjoyed studying the photos of your current GT40 and look forward to your next project. I have a few 1/12 models in my collection both completed and still in boxes but I actually only ever built one myself and that was decades ago. I like their size for seeing the detail but the downside is they take up so much space to display. I was attracted to 1/43 scale for the opposite reasons for a while but have settled on building 1/24 & 1/25. -
Super right on build.

MOMO Porsche 935, 1/24......

Hard to beat a MOMO livery on any racing car and your Porsche looks especially good. I built an AMT 935 many years ago and found it to be surprisingly OK. -

Fantastic looking Porsche. I really like the Carrera livery. It would have done well in that race. -

Thanks Andrew - I agree VRM decals are great and I am glad I got a number of sheets when they were available including the Cobra Daytona sheet. Thanks Pierre. Likewise I always follow your projects. Thanks Randy - I found some additional photos of your amazing brass GT40 project on Facebook. All will be a big help getting me back on track. I spent some time searching the forum for GT40 parts, projects and completions. Overwhelming what is or was available and the complexity of some of the GT40 model completions. -
Extremely well built in all respects.

I am moving onto the engine compartment and using the Historic Racing Miniatures GT40 engine and transaxle kit which also includes a rear bulkhead that better fits the inner contours of the body. The HRM engine has Gurney Weslake heads but my GT40 has standard Ford heads. The G/W heads were easily removed from the block and will be replaced with heads from the 1/24 Rev/Mon Shelby Mustang. The Weber carbs and manifold I will be using are also HRM items designed for the Rev/Mon 1/24 for 289. After getting what I thought were all the parts together I read the directions that came with the HRM kit. Torsion bars and sway bar attachments are mentioned but I could not find them. I searched everywhere with no success finding these parts. So, then I did an online search of photos of the HRM kit. In none of those photos are radius rods or sway bar attachments. I wonder why these were not included. I don’t remember another HRM GT40 suspension kit. Fortunately, I have an old IMC glue-bomb GT40 that will supply these parts or help me fabricate them. -
