  1. I have always enjoyed looking at these models and yours definitely sets the bench mark with the upgrades you have made. Both the grill and wheels look fantastic.
  2. Great project. I love hydroplanes. I have been to a race in Seattle and have visited the near by Hydroplane Museum
  3. I have started preparation of a model I intend to assemble while on a travel trailer trip later this spring. It is the Fujimi Ford GT40 Mk2- B specification #1047 as it was raced at Daytona 1967 by Dan Gurney and AJ Foyt. The B-specification Mk2s varied in a number of ways from earlier MK2s. One significant upgrade was the fitting of a roll cage likely in response to Ken Miles fatal crash in the J-Car. I could not find any good photos of the complete roll cage so this is what I came up with. NOTE - As Cliff recommends below please check Revs Institute MkII-B - scroll down to the bottom for a 360 degree view of the interior. You can see the roll bar configuration there. Looks like one central bar running from front to rear and another on outboard passenger side. 1966-67 Ford GT40 MK II-B - Revs Institute The roof section of the passenger door was separated and rigidly attached to the roof so there was an additional longitudinal brace above the passenger seat which can also be seen in Revs Institute photos. Here is a photo of Dan Gurney getting in or out of the car.
  4. Marvellous build. Love your Ferrari
  5. Thanks Allan for your love-ar-ly double entendre comment !! You will see the carbs under the rear window glass when the model is completed and posted UNDER GLASS.
  6. Thanks Randy - The surrounding try was made from three pieces of thin styrene that was constructed and painted before installing the carbs, valve covers and headers to the engine which was already mounted in the chassis. It then required some trimming and fiddling to get it to fit.
  7. Willie looks ready to rumble
  8. Go for it. That would be a great project
  9. I just watched a YouTube video on the 64 Sebring race. The Cunningham 904 comes into view at 10:18 in the video. There is no yellow sticker at least on the right side. It is cool to see some of the other cars in the race that have been built as models for this endeavor.
  10. Alex - With your knowledge of Cobras you will definitely prefer the Revell kit but you will have to fabricate your own wheel wells !! I look forward to seeing your build.
  11. We might be referring to different things but I can see what I refer to as side walls in your underneath photo. I have attached a photo of the Fujimi chassis sprue. I hadn't really noticed before but the area above the upper A-arm should be closed in to give a full side wall. AMT may have actually done a better job of rendering the side walls.
  12. Thanks Dan for posting your Sedans. Here are a few more built by my buddies for Deuce Days in Scale that takes place here in Victoria BC Canada. Next one is July 20 2025 in conjunction with the world's largest Deuce car show - Northwest Deuce Days. A good example of an out of the box build by Mike Pearson A Sedan Delivery conversion by Oly Moilanen Resin body Four Door by Russ Ferguson Chopped Ardun powered Hi-Boy by Russ Ferguson, Check out the wire wheels
  13. Hey Gary - You should check out Doug Whyte's Model Car Muse video on building this kit in 24 hours.
  14. Good lucking Cobra. Let's have a look at your engine. The Fujimi kit does have one important advantage over the Revell kit in that it has engine compartment side walls
  15. As we anxiously await of the availability of the Revell ‘32 Ford Sedan we have been led to believe will be reissued sometime in 2024 I thought it would be fun to start this thread to illustrate how popular this kit became during the limited time it was previously in production which might in a way help assure and hasten its re-release. The flathead engine, stock taillights, cowl lights and wire wheels in the kit were also welcomed for use on many other projects As well, the original kit also generated a number of after-market bodies based on its interior such Four-Doors, Chopped versions and Sedan Deliveries. I will start things of with a couple of my Sedans and I look forward to seeing your builds. Both of my Sedans have chopped tops. The yellow one was built as a tribute to the late Gary Meadors the founder of The Good Guys car shows and the other is a replica of a longtime Vancouver BC hot rod. I have one unbuilt kit left in my stash which I plan to build later this year but will purchase at least a couple more when they become available.
  16. Fantastic in red
  17. Thanks Allan. That is a major project you have as there were a lot of GT40s. How many do you actually want to build? I have one more planned for this year and maybe another in the future and I previously built an MPC MK IV but that will only make 4 for me. Have you checked out GT40 posts by Gramps46?
  18. Tim - I really enjoyed your portfolio and other peoples' models as well. The '49's are great kits. Have built the Convertible and the Woody and have plans for the chopped Coupe.
  19. The parts from the Deuce Roadster work very well with the Model A giving it a great stance. Very good looking hot rod.
  20. Great combination of parts. Definitely SEMA worthy. Another fantastic creation from your bench.
  21. Spectacular. I hope I get a chance to see it in person at the Dessert Scale Classic in April !!??
  22. Thanks Alex - I really enjoyed studying the photos of your current GT40 and look forward to your next project. I have a few 1/12 models in my collection both completed and still in boxes but I actually only ever built one myself and that was decades ago. I like their size for seeing the detail but the downside is they take up so much space to display. I was attracted to 1/43 scale for the opposite reasons for a while but have settled on building 1/24 & 1/25.
  23. Super right on build.
