  1. That looks the way a hot rod should look! Great job! The color combo is just right! Sam
  2. I like the old Fords too. Your model is a beauty, and it's a pretty good copy of the original. Very nice work! Sam
  3. Now that's a cool truck! No one else at the contest will have one of those! Great work, especially in 1/32 scale. I like the color, and leopard interior, and you did a great job on the machining! Sam
  4. Hey, guys, my step-grandson wants me to build him a model for a Christmas gift. He wants a "Ram 2500 in black with exhaust stacks and lifted", in his words. It looks simple to build and might survive the occasional play session he might be tempted to have. He's 12, but has two younger brothers who might get their hands on it! Has anyone here ever built this kit? I'm guessing that the chassis is a one piece molded unit, so I'm not sure how to lift the wheels. Any ideas? Have there been any other kits made of a Ram 2500 that might be better? I did a search, but came up empty. Thanks for any help. Sam
  5. Great colors, and a really well done interior! Nice job! I would cruise in that in a heartbeat! Sam
  6. Thanks for the compliments, guys! I wanted something different in the finish, and I guess it is! It's a little gaudy by today's standards. The yellow is actually lighter than the photos show it. The pics were taken at dusk. Here's one taken in sunlight. It's still an eye-grabber, though! Sam
  7. Wow! Great model, Jerome! The detail work is amazing! I lack the talent and patience for that much work (translation: I'm lazy!). Great job! Sam
  8. Here's my latest offering. It's a ZZ Top coupe kit from Revell, purchased at a flea market for $6.99. Here's the story: Some of you might remember Vickie, who loves pink, and her 56 Ford Crown Vic that I built last year. Well, her hubby wanted to build a street rod, and Vickie insisted that it had to have some pink on it. So the old man put a pink stripe on it and just for kicks, painted the engine pink, too! The model is built OOB, except for adding spark plug wires and a different air cleaner. The paint is Testors gloss white and Krylon yellow and pink. The finish is far from perfect, not polished out, and with some rough lines between the colors, but I had fun with it, and I think it looks sorta cool! I hope you guys like it. I had planned to use the hood side panels, but they wouldn't clear the plug wires. Oh, well! The license plate says "Deuce+1".
  9. As a teenager in the 1960's I had 250 built models in the house at one time. I gave away all but about 40 of them, which I still have, and have built about 30 more since 2003. I have one on the workbench, and three others in the queue. I build them one at a time - no concurrent builds. Old habits, I guess. As a kid, I couldn't afford a stash of unbuilt kits. I would buy one, then build it, then buy another when I had money, and build it. Still do it pretty much that way! Sam
  10. Wow! Very nice truck! The color choice is great, and the top chop looks perfect. Great work! Sam
  11. I agree with this. I think a gap would look better. That's a beautiful build! I like the color. You don't see many like that in light blue. Very nice work! Sam
  12. VERY nice update of an old classic! It's nice to see some unusual models being built, especially when they're done as well as your Lark! Excellent work! Sam
  13. How about if Revell made a series of Model T rods similar to their nice 32 Fords? A roadster, maybe a chopped coupe (not as low as the old AMT version), and a tub. Include a flathead in at least one of them, and a pickup box and a turtledeck in the roadster would be nice. Maybe some steel wheels and whitewalls, too, and motorcycle wheels for the front end. They could use the engines from their Deuces, and whitewalls from the 49 Merc. Lots of rodding and rat rod possibilities! I would buy them!
  14. Very nice wagon! The color combo is great for the car. Good work! Sam
  15. That's lookin' good! Nice, clean hot rod pickup. Good work on the flathead. Sam
  16. Superb! The Packard taillights and extended headlight buckets really make the model! Great color, too! Sam
  17. Great renderings! I really like the Torino and the Buick wagon. They're all good! I admire your skills (Harry's too!). Sam
  18. Nice, clean build! Not overdone with a sky-high lift or giant tires. I like it a lot! Sam
  19. Great model! You nailed the look of the 1:1 perfectly! It's neat to build models of actual cars sometimes. That Revell kit is a good one. I built one a few months ago, and it went together so easily. Good work!
  20. "Well tell me what like or dislike" you say. What I like: every inch of it. It's just perfect! What I dislike: the fact that it's not mine, and I can never build anything that good! GREAT work! Sam
  21. Great model! I rebuilt a 39 Chevy glue bomb a while ago, and thought about doing what you did to it, but chickened out. Your model looks great! Sam
  22. Double ditto to what he said!! Just gorgeous! Excellent work! Sam
  23. Very nice build! Those 32's look good in orange! Nice work! Looks a bit like my avatar. Sam
  24. That's going to be a cool car, Paul! Nice work so far. I would hinge the doors forward, though. Just my preference - I'm not a fan of suicide doors. Got a color scheme picked out? Sam
  25. UPDATE: I changed the wheels back to the stock wheels & caps with wide whitewalls. They do look more appropriate for the style of the car, I think. I'll use the chrome wheels on something else. Sam
