  1. Very nice Vette! The 63 to 67's are my favorite style. The color is great, and I like the side pipes and vents. Good job! Sam
  2. That's a beauty, Bruce! Really nice work. I like the color combo, and the detail work is great! The rear bumper with exhaust tips is a nice touch! Sam
  3. That's a model? No way! It has to be the real thing! I have never seen such great detail and scratch building work. It's magnificient! What a wonderful tribute to your dad and a piece of history! Way to go! Sam
  4. T-birds of that era looked a little clunky to me, but the blue color and the big wheels seem to smooth everything out on your model. Very nice build! Sam
  5. A beauty, Jim! The nose sits just a tad too low for my taste, but it's a great build nonetheless. The paint is gorgeous, and the engine detail is great! Nice job!
  6. You're right, Charlie. I took some liberty on the interior color scheme. I saw a photo of a real 51 in the yellow/cream color with a brown leather interior, and liked how it looked, so I fudged a little! We'll pretend the owner had it reupholstered in about 1959! Thanks, everyone for the compliments. Much appreciated!
  7. Nice work! I like the skylight - very creative idea! Great eye-popping color, too! Sam
  8. Very nice crop of models! I really like the 59 Buick, the Falcon, and Smart Aleck! The jacked up Model A is cool, too. Sam
  9. Hey, guys. I just finished this AMT 51 Chevy Belair convertible. I built it stock to use on my 1950's diner diorama. The paint is Walmart spray can stuff. The color is a yellowish cream which closely matches a factory color from 1951. The brown in the interior is actually Rustoleum rusty metal primer buffed up a little to look more realistic. The engine is wired old school style - with sewing thread (I ran out of wire). I found some fit issues in this kit. The front inner fenders had to be sanded down almost 1/8" to get the body to fit, and those underhood air vent ducts didn't even come close to fitting! The uptop doesn't match the body where it sits on it at the rear of the top, either. Still, I am pleased with the results, and it should look good in the Starlite Diner parking lot. I hope you like it!
  10. Just about perfect! Great color, and the vinyl roof really makes the model! Good work! Sam
  11. Great custom! I like the taillights and exhaust tips. The Chevy grille is just right, as is the whole "look" of the model. Very good work! Sam
  12. Wow! That is nice! Great workmanship on the chop and front end, and I love the look. I want to cruise the block in that baby! Sam
  13. Very nice! It's good to see something really different. Great color, and the wood grain really makes the model! Sam
  14. That's an amazing build! Just perfect. The 69 is my favorite Camaro, and your model really does it justice. GREAT work! Sam
  15. Wow, nice Bee! Great color - really stands out! Good work. Sam
  16. Nice model, Troy! the pink looks cool. I used a similar color on a 56 Ford Crown Vic last year. I guess real men are not afraid to paint a car pink! Nice job on the interior too! Sam
  17. Wow! Very nice model! Looks like a Mustang should. Good work. Sam
  18. Very nice, Tom! Great concept - kind of blurs the line between toy and model. Great work on the taillights, interior, and step bumper! Sam
  19. Excellent model! I like those old Chryslers, and yours is just about the best one I've seen! Great work! Sam
  20. Harry, I remember hearing Chicken Man on WCFL in Chicago, even though I was (and still am) in central PA. At night, I could get AM signals from several states away somehow. I loved Chicken Man, and had forgotten all about him till now. Thanks for digging up a good memory!
  21. Wow! That's a beauty! It's hard to beat a 57 Chevy! Sam

Nice model and great display! I like the junkers in the background. Looks like a tree fell on that 62 Dart! Sam
  23. Very nice, Gonzo! It's good to see models of the cars the average guy drove in those days, not just top of the line cars. Great work! Sam
  24. Thanks, Joe. It came out better than I thought it would. The dio base is some cheap 1970's vintage paneling I tore off a wall in our house when I redid it two yrs. ago. It's a mahogany luan or something, about 1/8" thick. I flipped it over and nailed it to a 2x2 frame. I sprayed it with flat black, then sprayed on a thick coat of Rustoleum Multi Color Textured paint. The color was called Aged Iron. It's sort of a gray with whitish flakes mixed in, so it doesn't look like new, too perfect pavement. Paint was all from Wal-Mart. Sam
  25. Looks good, Joe! I like the color scheme. Great garage diorama too. That's a cool diner in the first two pics. Looks a bit like the one I made for my diner diorama, which also happens to have a 60 Ford in its parking lot! Sam
