  1. I built the same kit a while ago and completely forgot that script! No one here said anything about it. I added it today. Tom, that's a great build! The color is just right, and well done, too! It's a good match to the original. Nice work! Sam
  2. There was a feature on this guy (Michael Paul Smith) on ABC-TV news tonight. Here is a link to the story on their website. Elgin Park photos His Flickr site has had 9 million hits!
  3. VERY NICE! Looks like a factory color, and nicely done. Good looking interior too! Sam
  4. That is a cool rod, Chuck! I still have the Fiat dragster I built in the 1960's. I never thought of making a street rod out of it. Great idea! Looks good! Sam
  5. Beautiful model! I agree that it could be in the Real or Model section and pass for the real thing! Nice work! Sam
  6. Smoooth! I like the color and the wheels/tires. Perfect stance, too! Sam
  7. Mean and green! Very nice rod! Looks like tinted windows, too. Sam
  8. Mine's not as wild as some rats, but I will lay claim to having the most unusual seats - lawn chairs! Sam
  9. Very nice classic rod! The black paint is just right for it! Sam
  10. Now that's a cool Merc! The color looks good on it! Sam
  11. I agree with Harry about the Corvair as a significant car, but more for what it precipitated in the auto industry, than for its rear engine design. If what I heard is true, it was the success of the sporty Corvair Spyder (esp. with turbo option) that prompted Lee Iacocca to produce the Mustang. That, of course, led quickly to the whole Ponycar/Musclecar/performance car race and culture that persists to this day, and provides subjects for about half the models on this forum! Sam
  12. Very nice bus! The colors are just right! Sam
  13. That is simply amazing! Great model, and I like the video! I'm eager to see it finished.
  14. Thanks, Charlie. Feel free to use any ideas you want. Sam
  15. WOW! That's some of the best detail work I've ever seen! Great build!! Sam
  16. Smoooth, Marty! I like it a lot! Is that two Edsel grilles in the front? Very creative! Sam
  17. Great looking interior, Jim! I never get tired of 32 Fords! I'm eager to see this one when it's done! Sam
  18. Nice work, Dave! I hadn't seen this thread before. I'm amazed at the detail you can make in HO scale! By coincidence, I am working on a 1/25 scale diner right now. It's about 18" long. The diorama will have a parking lot full of mid 1950's cars. Here's a pic of it under construction. Sam
  19. I found that site a while ago. It has over 100 pages of pics! I spent hours looking through them. It's a great reference for building models or dioramas, or just reminiscing about old times! Sam
  20. Thanks for all the kind words, guys. I'm glad you like the diorama. For the guys who said I should make them and sell them, I don't have the time for that much work, but I do have an AutoCAD drawing of the storefronts in 1/25 scale that I can send you if you want to make one similar to mine. Let me know if you want a copy. Thanks, Sam
  21. Casey, I'm so sorry for your terrible loss. I know how you feel. My dad died of a heart attack when he was just 48 years old, and I was 14. I'm 60 now and I still miss him. You and your family will be in my prayers. God be with you. Sam
  22. Incredible work, Mike! The chop is perfect! I would have been afraid to try it. Sam
  23. Chuck, that Scout is a beauty! The color works well on it, and the low stance is great! Nice job! Sam
  24. Very good work! It looks realistic. The rolled down side window and wiper streaks are nice touches that add a lot of realism. Sam
  25. Great diorama! The photo with the trees in the background looks like the real thing! Nicely done! Sam
