Harry's kit reminds me of the old rubber powered free flight model airplanes I built many years ago. They had all the wing ribs, bulkheads, tail surface parts, etc. printed on a sheet of balsa and you had to cut them out with a hobby knife. You got a bundle of sticks to make all the fuselage stringers, wing spars, etc. then had to assemble them carefully. Brushing on dope and applying tissue covering was a PITA, too, and they often didn't fly very well. Plastic model cars were so much easier and more satisfying to me back then. Sam

Thanks again for all your great compliments, guys! Here is the Merc with my other two woodies, a 48 Ford and a Model A. The model A was built by me in about 1965, when I was 16. I built the 48 Ford and the diner diorama in 2010.
