  1. Wow! Super build and a great color to boot!
  2. I love this build. Great work and a cool subject too.
  3. It wasn't easy but I have built a handful of cars over the years and I always try to sell them before I have more invested in them than I can get back out of them. I turned "Sally" into a 2005 Pacifica for my wife and a 2000 F150 4x4 for me and braces for my daughter. I miss the car but I am building a 65 Comet drag car right now so I don't miss as much.
  4. No Luc it was a 68 model with replacement 67 quarters because I never liked the rear side marker lights on the 68. It was a rusty pig when I got it. I had to replace the whole floor pan and both rear quarters and wheel houses. I rebuilt the car myself. Here are some more pictures.
  5. This is my model of the last cool car I used to own. I sold the 1:1 on eBay about 4 years ago. I just finished the model of real car last week. It is a re-do. I built it originally when I first started the restoration of the real car. I took it apart about a year ago to redo it with more detail and a better paint job. It has all the parts needed make is as exact as could be. The basic kit was the AMT 1967 Mustang GT Fastback. Modifications to make it like my restored 1:1 car are as follows: 302 engine and AOD auto transmission, Electric cooling fan, Sanden A/C compressor, correct valve covers, air cleaner and steering wheel all from Revell Highboy kit. Delco HEI distributor from AMT 82 El Camino kit. Delco three wire alternar from a Camaro kit. P/E set from Model Car Garage American Racing Torqthrust II wheels from AMT 68 GT 500 kit. Chrome Tri-Y headers, Hood scoop and side mirrors form Revell 65 Mustang kit. Scratch made air extractor vents in the kit GT hood, NOS bottle, under rider Shelby type traction bars, electric fuel pump, starter solenoid and homemade decal for trunk mat and tag. BFG tire decals from SHABO. Paint is a DupliColor custom blend of several dark blue metallics. Here is a picture of the real car too. Mitch
  6. No it was a 350 with a quadra jet and 2bbl heads and WAY TOO MUCH cam (a CRANE blue print 350 horse 327 cam). It sounded good but was a real nag off the line. Oh and the 2.56 rearend didn't help much either ....
  7. When I was a Juinor in high school I traded the El Vega off on this beauty. The color is the actual color of the original car. When we did a repaint of the car we painted the model at the same time. This build is over 23 years old. Here is a picture of me at the strip with my old Chevelle back in the day. I was working at a GM dealer at the time and that is a NOS SS hood I put on the car and then some 69 Camaro RS emblems and badging. My on own special RS Chevelle.
  8. Looks good. The rear wheels are supposed to fit inside the tires though...
  9. Yeah, I had gasser on the brain when I wrote that...
  10. Great job, the decals look fantastic.
  11. Neat, my grandpa had one of these when I was a kid. Dark emerald green.
  12. That is very cool. Great job. Tech inspection is going to make you put in some sort of wind screen though...
  13. That is just about perfect. I love the old boxy Fords.
  14. Very clean. The paint is flawless. I'm not diggin' the tires though. The fronts especially...
  15. Great job. I very unique idea. I am not so sure it wouldn't have been leagle. Than ran just about anything back in the day.
  16. I wouldn't have wasted the paint, I would have just thrown it away. Cracks me up none the less.
  17. Great model, what scale is it?
  18. Great job. Where did you find the Rallye Wheels without the caps and beauty rings?
  19. That is just pretty cool. You did such great job on it, it almost looks photo shopped. The WIP photos are great too. Too bad the govenment didn't make the big three into one Mopordolet Motor Company...
  20. This is a 2006 Revell Home Depot kit modified into a 2009 Office Depot COT stockcar. The rear wing, front spliter are scratch made. The decals are from Southern Motorsport Hobbies. Paint is Duplicolor Black and Cardinal Red. It is not supposed to be a 100% example of a COT, just a enough mods to get the idea across.
  21. Yep. The chassis in this kit is the "NASCAR" one size fits all that MPC made in the 70's. If you notice it has a Ford frontend and the chassis come in two parts and you glue it together just in front of the rear wheel openings at different points depending on the required wheel base of the body they supplied with the kit. The older original kits came with two sometimes three different roll cages to use depending on the cars roof line. As with most one size fits all ... it is usually one size fits most and works best on a few.
  22. This is Model King's re-release of the 75 or so Laguna Stock car. It is box stock with Monogram NASCAR kit wheels and tires, some plug wires and some plumbing. The decals are Yesterday's
  23. Super work the detail on the interior is outstanding. The A/C vent looks real and I can see the shift pattern marking on the gear shift knob. WOW.
  24. Ah yes, Chevy's try at producing a GIANT Taurus look alike. Nice crisp decalling and detail work. Well done.
  25. Wow!!! That is soooooo cool. It looks so much like my Dad's Biscayne that we are racing. We plan on painting it this winter though....
