  1. Thanks,Bruce,it's good to be back too That'sa good idear on the lighter body, never woulda thought of that (and just happen to have a couple throw-away red lighters, the kind they give away when you buy a carton.....I'd quit, but started back, sigh ),thanks!
  2. Starting on the next project (finally). AMT’s 1996 Chevy Tahoe snap kit from several years back. This kit was dug up from the ruins of our burned house and other than the box it came in,seems to have survived with no ill effects, though there are a few parts missing, most notibly, the wheels, tires, and rear tail-lights. I wouldn’ thave been using the factory-correct wheels and tires–this will be made into an “in the weeds” street truck–but the missing tail-lights means this won‘t be a simple slam-it-together snap kit… Rather than to try to find a set or a donor kit on eBay or such, which was my first thought (only found 1 listed, not willing to pay what they want just to score a set of lights),but it didn’t take long to decide to take the custom street truck theme a bit more in depth,I’ll be shaving the door handles,3rd brake light, running boards, and the tail lights, filling in the place for the stockers, and molding tails lights from another vehicle in the rear somewhere. Haven’t decided which as of yet,but I’m still waiting on delivery of the wheels/tires that I ordered for this anyways, plenty of time. Before pics… Shaved the running boards off with my trusty razor saw, will smooth them out a bit with sanding sticks and putty if need be. More to come, good to be back at the bench
  3. A regular item from this guy on eBay (see link),was $139.99 shipped to my door http://www.ebay.com/itm/300816233498?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=600066545127&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT (link to the one I bought,IDK if it will send you there,so...) http://www.ebay.com/usr/sfdisplay?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 (link to his eBay home page) Hope that helps,my friend
  4. New display case from eBay... (the bed is Queen size)
  5. These came today... Plan for that '95 Blazer promo is to disassemble it,and replicate the 1:1 "LO BLAZE" I built and owned for a few years, using a set of Pegasus Chrome T's to replicate the pollished Torque Thrusts I ran on it...
  6. Nothing "commercial",but scored a few trucks this past week...
  7. The postman has been nice to me this week
  8. NICE build,I too thought it was 1:1 to start with
  9. "Like a BOSS!!!"....you mean like the idiot who got their position because they're related to/dating/screwing someone who doesn't have a clue what the heck they're doing or what's going on,but will take credit for everything, let their pets get away with murder while those who actually do more work than anyone else there get screwed on days off and other things? (obviously not ALL bosses are like that, but we've all had em...)
  10. SOme rifle files,dremel bits,BMF,glue,better tweezers,other various tools/supplies I was running low on,and Revell '65 Chevy stepside
  11. LOVE it,Shane (been watching it come together on FB and "Liking" it there too),one of my favorites done of this kit to date, nicely done
  12. Suffering "the biggest roof-of-mouth abscess I've ever seen" (doctor's words),where the others I'd suffered recently "didn't hurt, was just really annoying",this one has been excrutiating for 2 days. Also, with perfect timing (sarcasm),suffering one of (if not the) worst old spinal injury flare-ups since the last several years. Nice of them to hit together, play off one another, and put me pretty much unable to do anything (including eat, sleep, look around, sit for long, lay down, sleep, stand, walk, talk, etc and on),sigh. If the tax refund doesn't come soon, the offending tooth is coming out,one way or other (wouldn't be the first time I've yanked one myself...)
  13. Very nice so far!
  14. Very nice build! Loving the red and the sawblades (I had more than 1 set of those on various rides in the late 80's-early 90's,LOL)
  15. Cool project!
  16. Thanks,Gergo and Carl The fire seems liek ancient history, only reason I mentioned it is it's part of this build's history (drama ),we're better off now than before, miss the bigger place but not where it's located
  17. A few garage pics (even with light shining directly on it,LOL,it still looks almost black )
  18. Thanks guys No worries on the fire (it was a lot of worry back then though,LOL ),it seems like a lifetime ago, only mentioned it as it was part of the back-story to this build (why it took so long) Besides,if it hadn't happened,we'd still be stuck there in the middle of nowhere thinking we were happy,LOL,we're much happier now, both where we are,and as a family, that fire wound up being a blessing for us in the long run (I miss having double the Sq Ft of house than what we have now though )
  19. I started this a few months after we had a house fire back in 2011,but just never could get in the groove of building after that (every time I'd sit to build,I'd think about the dozens of built models, and the hundreds of kits lost, and loose heart for building),but finally got it finished tonight. I had bigger plans than a "box stock except for the hood" build (which is what it turned out to be),but I needed a finish,LOL! Now I need to work on better lighting for pic taking...
  20. Looks great,Jonathan I've driven a couple 1:1's,fun cars (if not overly fast),I wouldn't mind owning one. I'd like to build that kit myself, yours looks awesome!
  21. That's a GOOD looking Mustang
