  1. LOL,well at least it worked out though, and they look great on it IMO ...and yeah, they (Scale Auto) should, that'd be sweet
  2. All cool builds! I recently found my own build (from 1999) using those SAE decals--I'd built it back when SAE gave out those decals to subscribers for their 20th Anniversary. We had a house fir ein 2011,and I'd thought that ALL of my builds (and 99% of my hundreds of unbuilt/stash) had been lost, but being over there (it's a 2 hour drive, but my grand parents live next door) last week for Christmas,I was shocked to find it buried down in a few blankets that had apparently been thrown on top of it not long before the day of the fire,LOL! I built mine along with the 2 part feature,a modern Nascar kit (I think the article used a Revell Pontiac,I had on hand/used a Dale Jarrett QC Ford kit). It's a little off color, and has minor damage, but I'll keep it,and make repairs when I can get around to it
  3. Merry Christmas and happy New Years! May each of you and your families/friends be richly blessed
  4. LOL,yeah,I know exactly what you mean,SMH Harry P. ,man...you were more calm about it that day with the mirror than I would have been. They would not have been paid for 2 hours labor, and I wouldn't have waited,LOL,I woulda been like "Hey,is my van finished?",and if they lied and said "not yet",I woulda called them on it. That's completely theft of your hard earned $,a direct and intentional overcharging (which is illegal in this state,BTW). Props for keeping your cool,my friend
  5. I know you're right! I used to do that work for a few years (had this not been a not-at-fault accident/insurance thing,I woulda fixed this myself),they literally had between 15 and 25 hours of work to do,had all the parts* in within the 1st 2 weeks.....sigh *all but 1 window trim piece, which should be in today, but we're getting it back even if not,and we'll go pick it up when it does actually come in if not today
  6. Wow.......just...WOW!!! Awesome year you had
  7. Today is day 49 that a local (very high rated) body shop has had our wife's FJ Cruiser in the shop (after a 68 year old man had t-boned her while blowing through a stop sign while texting no less),and though it's getting closer,it's still not finished...it only needed about 20 hours worth of labor (plus paint--I did that kinda work for several years between the Army and trucking),4 bolt-on parts (control arm, fender, door, and wheel since the original was scarred horribly cosmetically)...I told em I was done with their BS excuses, that if it wasn't done by tomorrow eve (their last day open for a while),that "at the start of business Monday,I'll be in my lawyer's office taking legal action" (coincidently, this kinda "pleased me today"...about 20 minutes ago,got a call from them saying "it will be done by 4pm,our top body man is staying late tonight until it's sprayed,we'll bake the paint..."--I hate that that older guy has to stay late like that, but they had 49 days already)
  8. No pics yet (I'm pretty beat, was a long day). Picked up a Revell Datsun 240Z BRE kit,'57 Ford Del Rio Wagon kit,and all the way from Japan, the mail delivered an Aoshima Datsun 720 mini-truck
  9. Hill-billy-redneck accent for "Mine's better than yours"
  10. Merry Christmas (and happy New Year) to you too,Dan,and everyone else!
  11. Some truly awesome builds,guys!
  12. Morons on Facebook arguing that "Mahn's better 'n yern!" on a brand vehicle post. Maybe "Irked" is too strong of a word for it,maybe "aggervatedly amuzed by" is better Wishing alla you a happy holiday season, guys!
  13. Welcome aboard, nice to meet you, neighbor (in Bristol TN here )
  14. Wow...that dash really looks 1:1! Nicely done!
  15. I'd accidently deleted my pic from Photobucket on the 7th (the post isa few days back),here's that pic... ...and I've gotten these within the last few days ...still waiting on 4 or 5 kits to come in from Japan, probly won't see those until after the new year though,LOL
  16. That's on my short list. Thanks for the mini-review
  17. We had an '89 GT,fun little car for what it was,we liked it Should be a cool build, looking good so far!
  18. Awesome replica! Nicely done
  19. WOW,dang that thing looks mean! Awesome job so far, brother, keep it coming
  20. Got these yesterday (50% off,YAY!!! ,from a going out of business flea market model store, nooooooo )... Got these in the mail today from eVilbay
  21. Nice build I had that kit before we suffered a house fire a while back, never got around to building it,LOL! My first car was an '83 Cavalier hatch (that exact body-style) that someone had swapped in a 2.8L V6/4 speed from an '86 Z24 into (this was about '88). Cheap, easy to work on,fun for it's time (the Z's anyways ). Mine was turd-borwn on turd-brown (interior/exterior)
  22. With all of the (major) life stuf we've got going on (not by choice, not self inflicted,LOL ),10 months might mean the difference between making it and not for me,so "yes" from me,LOL
  23. A little Zoom Zoom,2005 Mazda 3 "S2.3 Grand Touring"... ...and the FJC (the Voodoo Blue one )
