  1. It's not a collectable once the bag is opened and the parts are trimmed from the trees.
  2. Here's my Manx, a '69 Manx II, my daughter giving my grandson a ride.
  3. It ALMOST was a few years back! All of the '29 roadster and a lot of the Ala Kart were sold as a '29 model A kit, the extra Ala Kart parts were not mentioned.
  4. Missing link resins does the early bumpers and grille!
  5. Chuck, I'm sure the engine and transaxle will disappoint, this is a "axle through the engine" kit, the metal wire runs in the open where the swing axle tubes should be. The whole thing is chrome, and while the engine looks good, it is a 36 HP mill, the fuel pump and generator stand give it away. The dual carbs are early tall units (okrasa?) and little more than lumps. The basics can be used to update to something larger if you know the subject well. I built one into a type 3 engine years ago. (THE hot setup back in the day!) We need a resin caster to save us a lot of conversion work!
  6. Here's another one...
  7. Roger, a friend of mine has a Subaru turbo engine in a clone buggy, SCAREY FAST !
  8. Lets see, a resin caster could buy that, cast a mold, and sell the kits at about $75.00 each. He could break even at about 300 kits sold!
  9. The handbrake is between the seats, is that what you're asking?
  10. Do the math, 1200 pounds, 120 HP, short wheelbase, 12 feet long, it's a legal go-kart!
  11. Its kind of like the small block Chevy, a 283 works as a 350 just fine. Don't get me wrong, back in the 60's the 'vair was the hot set up!
  12. Actually we painted the raw glass side of the body black!
  13. Will do, I'll have to have the kids help me! LOL!
  14. YES! I'm glad I bought a long time ago! My cylinders are the thick ones like the 94mm ones so the heat is not a problem, I wanted the thick ones for a turbo (T-3) later. I've owned my Manx 41 years, drove it to high school! Its still metal flake gel-coat.
  15. The old Cragar / Keystone Wide Oval sets ( MRC) would fix things for me, cant stand the Bling-Bling wheels.
  16. Corvair engines in a buggy were the hot ticket back in the sixties, but today the VW engine makes the power without the size and rotation issues. My 1835cc dual carb VW pulls the front wheels, what more do you really need?
  17. My second car was a 56 Chevy Belair 2 door sedan, I can do it from the 210 kit with work but it would be nice to have a correct kit. Thanks to the upcoming Meyers Manx kit I can model any car I owned and would want to model pretty easily, but I owned a lot of popular cars when I was young (Camaros, tri-five Chevys, Corvettes and such), I haven't owned a car worth modeling in years.
  18. Yep, for a sedan the AMT kit is your only option for the body, pick up the Revell kit for a much better chassis.
  19. Monograms Nomad is 1/24. OOPS! Its also a 57.
  20. I wish they would quit putting those ugly wagon wheels in kits of 50's to 70's cars all together.
  21. Looks like the Dodge Dart Sport front grafted onto a resin Plymouth Swinger is your only way.
  22. Lucky you! The decal sheet looks interesting.........
  23. I don't mind ladies, its the sleazy I don't like.
