  1. So this was the reason he kept invitng me to these "basement" meetings...
  2. Great stuff, nothing beats the little details!!!
  3. Thanks Ron, you are the reason why I am doing this model when you brought yours to the meeting, like I told you, I just had to do it. Let me know about the tires, I did talk to Norm to see if he has anything good in resin for this kit and he will be bringing an assortment of them for me to choose. Keep us posted on your progress also, this is a great kit!!!
  4. Just started on this kit, I have heard a lot of positive feedback on it so hopefully it will be good!
  5. Just realized that I put this ongoing project under the "Under Glass" section. Please, Harry or any of the moderators, if you please can move it I will certainly appreciate it......
  6. I usually leave the painting phase for last but decided to paint the body today, I will not be doing too much scratch building on this thing so that means I will not have to worry about handling the body too much while I am building it. I had cleaned it up and primered it last week so it was ready for painting. I rescribed the panel lines and gave them a wash with the Citadel washes. Once dry, I will do a bit of wetsanding and polishing before placing the decals. I will not be using any clear on the body, this paint has enough inherent gloss! Thanks for looking!!!!
  7. As many of you are, I am very pleased to have this kit currently available, to me, it's one of the most beautiful cars of that era. Had a few other things in mind to build but had to settle on this one even though that AMT '62 Pontiac Catalina was also calling my name, probably my next build. I started looking at some reference photos in Google under images and found out that there is quite a little bit of work to be done on the front bumper. As you can see by the photos, there is a bit of the body color within the front bumper. Hosted on Fotki Also, the bezels around the headlights are painted black, what I did was use a black wash to do this. I will have to add a bit more later as I think it still needs better coverage. For the white, what I did was just carefully scratch off the chrome, this step exposes the white plastic underneath. I used Tamiya tape to make it possible to follow a straight line and keep myself from ruining the bumper. I will use Future Floor Wax at the end to give it a bit of gloss. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki I like using these Citadel washes to help me out with this step, you do have to build them up more than the Detailer Liquids but they have a more flat look at the end rather than the bulky and glossy look you get from the Detailer brand. 12. Awesome work man!!
  13. The white one looks good, you just have to make sure to get that exact shade of red for the roof though, anything else might just ruin the overall effect...
  14. Love this thing!!!! Looks awesome in white, a color I never would have thought would go with this car.....
  15. WOW! I love it! The white walls look good on it!

You must be reading my mind Kevin, I thought the same thing myself which is why I took some inside pictures, I just have not shared them because I thought I had more than enough pictures when I opened this thread. Anyway, here are some. Thanks!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki As you can see, I shot them a little darker, still don't see that much difference but at least I tried, gotta go out and get me some photography lessons...
