  1. Thanks Kevin, it's always nice to know that I can help someone out the same way I was helped when I started in this hobby. I decided that I will auction the blue Willys next month in our club's November auction. I belong to 2 of the best clubs in the nation and I am very happy to always put a little effort to keep them going. Thanks again for your purchases, I will start working on that other model we talked about some time next week....
  2. As usual, I had a lot of fun sharing with my friends at our monthly meeting! We had a Chopper theme going and there were a lot of cool ones in display. Congratulations to my boy Rick Forrester for his 1st place win, his Chopper was really gorgeous!!! Hosted on Fotki As I said, this was really a cool piece by Rick, lots of attention to detail and very clean!!!! 3. I have never had any issues with humidity here in Maryland but I never take any chances either. What I do is go to Wal-Mart or Home Depot and get me some Damp Rid, it absorbs humidity in the air. I don't like to explain much, that's the reason I invested in a digital camera and computer, the pictures will say it all! What I do is open one at least 3 hours before painting and I am ready to go!!! 4. Crafts stores like Michael's and others carry it!!
  5. Yes Jim, it does but you can primer and put any other color you want, that's also the beauty of this system. If I recall, the other colors are gold, green, gray, black, blue and I think 3 o 4 more colors, they are soft, not loud colors.
  6. Embossing powder is great, here is a picture of the interior of my Vega that I recently completed!!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  7. Looks very good Phil, I like the color!!

    '33 Caddy!!!

It goes together pretty good, I didn't have any problems. Some chrome parts are pretty fragile so just make sure you put a light touch when installing them, other than that I think you will like it.
  9. As usual, nice job on this Bob, I have always loved the body on these cars!!!
  10. This came out beautiful Bob, color choice is cool!!!

Didn't have a digital camera when I did this about 6 years ago so I decided to post it this time. Just want to be active before deciding on my next build. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

  16. Welcome Nigel!!! Now, we want to see pictures!!!!!
  17. Welcome my friend, best forum out here, lots of good talent and people!!
  18. I will tell you this much, the best way to learn is actually going throught what you are going, I can assure you that you will take better decisions next time specially with the painting process! The project is an interesting one though, I did one of these kits myself and found it to be a lot of fun. Good luck!!!
  19. That's funny man but what I find funnier is that I have another guy who is interested in seeing it tonight but is also interested in buying a few built models I have. Depending on his decision tonoght I will let you know by tomorrow. I will send you a private e-mail!!
  20. I have the Crescendo for 15 years now, never had an issue. On top of that, I rarely clean it up to the point when I decide to do a body, other than that, I just spray some lacquer thinner through it and let it sit until the next time I have to use it!!!
  21. Thanks Bill, the acetone was perfect, better than lacquer for this application!!!
  22. Thinned it with acetone and airbrushed it....
  23. Very cool, wish I had one of those kits, they really look awesome and yours is definitely well done!!!
  24. Thank you and many others for your service, take care!!!!
  25. These are some day pictures I took in the morning, wish it would have been a little sunnier but here we go, definitely can see the true color much better... Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
