Thanks Jay. I don't like using tape on my vinyl tops, I'd rather create the texture with paint as I did here. This is Testor's Gloss Black airbrushed at 35 PSI and thinning the paint lightly. Why gloss? It creates a heavier orange peel which is what I was going for. I will sand it a bit once dry and finish up with a slightly duller coat of black, it's still a little too shiny.

I am already working on a vinyl roof for this baby. The kit might have some little faults here and there but I think it will look great once completed!

Would the Dodge Go Mango color be the same color used in Plymouths to duplicate Vitamin C or are they a different shade? I thought Vitamin C was kinda of a more redish hue?

Nothing special Jay, I do it exactly the same way as I do with my panel lines. I start out with a scriber first and end with a #11 x-acto blade. It just makes it easier at the end to foil once the car is painted. Here you can notice I did it on this Impala right on the plastic first.

I just bought the kit and might be putting my next build on hold, this one is really calling me out. Good job on yours Tim, that little red stripe on that front grill looks challenging but not impossible.... There is a small flare on the wheel surrounds which I will be scribing to be able to add the chrome molding, it really will give the build a really sweet and more detailed look.

I thought Modelhaus made some cool white walls/tires for this kit? Can they be used to replace the ones in the kit?
