  1. And for the icing on the cake??? A nice little trophy at our Mid-atlantic NNL!!! Hosted on Fotki
  2. Before I forget, I want to thank Harry for the feature and cover shot of this model in this Month's Model Cars Magazine, I thought it was very cool of him and it's an honor to be part of the mag. Thanks a million Harry!!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  3. Get those decals in place before adding wax, after they are thoroughly dry you can wax over the decals!
  4. Looks cool, what paint and clear did you use? Personally, I prefer the traditional Grand National rims but these look pretty good.
  5. Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland has the best artillery wheels out there. E-mail norm at replmincomd@aol.com.
  6. Very cool Doc, I do it a little different but all in all, the basic idea is in there, thanks for sharing my friend!!
  7. Needs clear? What is that glossy coat I am seeing???
  8. I love the Floquil solvent base primer, goes on very smooth and it keeps every single detail on the parts and body. It also flows very smooth out of the airbrush!!
  9. Just like on the similar topic about the wet look clear lacquer from Testor's, this is what you get.... Hosted on Fotki
  10. This is flat red Testor's enamel under Testor's wet look clear right from the can..... Hosted on Fotki Same thing here..... Hosted on Fotki and same thing here....... Hosted on Fotki
  11. Gregg and I put together a cool tutorial for the magazine, don't know when he will have it in the mag but it's pretty informative, I think it will answer many questions on the subject.
  12. You get terrific results with the Testor's wet look, people very often ask me if my clear is urethane, that's how good it looks if you wetsand it and Polish it right!
  13. Guys, the Testor's spray lacquers are not hot, that's just a modified enamel, not a true lacquer. I use any kind of paint but I prefer to have a flat color for my base than a gloss simply because a flat coat is thinner and has a lot less orange peel. You can shoot right out of the can or decant it and use the airbrush. I wetsand and Polish all my finishes so to me it doesn't make a difference if it was shot from an airbrush or the can.
  14. Depends on how light are the scratches......
  15. The red Impala on this months cover of the magazine is painted in that fashion, don't know who was the crazy guy who built it though....
  16. I built this kit for a friend and the tires were out of whack, some people told me that it's some sort of imperfection on all these types of kits from Revell. I tried having them replaced by Revell and they responded....3 months later. I think it was because it's a Revell of Germany kit? Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki I must admit that I also messed up one of the decals from the kit and they sent me a whole decal sheet!!
  17. Give wify a big kiss for her gift to you but definitely go and get a real compressor with a holding tank, in this hobby, the right tools always get the better results!
  18. Just awesome, always been a big fan of your work!
  19. Well, in that case, thank you Harry for my Impala, I enjoyed what you did with it in the mag!!! Oh and yes, that junker Impala is sweet!!!
  20. Stick with the Testor's wet look.clear, it works just as good or better and it rubs out really nice!
  21. Ed, this is the engine in the kit, I really enjoyed putting it together!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  22. Thanks my friend, this thing is really awesome!!!
  23. I have a few of those and I love them. Yes they can be fiddly but at the end, they are the most realistic looking models. I did this baby about a year and a half ago and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Hosted on Fotki I am planning to attack this one sometime this year, hopefully...... Hosted on Fotki
  24. I prefer just one under glass section but the poll is a good idea to finally put this to rest. Whatever happens, happens, I still will enjoy this place!!
