  1. Just shared in FB and wrote "please" quite a few times, they look great. Wouldn't mind learning some new painting techniques when adding color on these!!
  2. Oh no, a perfectionist among us! I am going to enjoy this!!! :P Great start!!
  3. As a matter of fact, just found out where Damascus is, you are less than an hour away from our club, actually closer than myself (I live in Abingdon). We also have our annual model car show in May located in Glen Burnie. YOU GOTTA COME, PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!
  4. Welcome back man. If possible, try attending a model car show, you will truly be inspired once you see the models on display. It's also a great time to make friends and ask a lot of questions, I am more than positive you will find some individuals that would love to talk to you about modeling. Also, joining a club is another good alternative. I see you are from Maryland as I am, we have one of the best clubs in the nation here (Maryland Automotive Modelers Association). Don't know how far you are from Greenbelt but if you decide to attend you will not regret it. Below is the link and info on our club....... http://mamasboyz.org/
  5. I get a headache just looking at it...
  6. I'll put that stuff away for you man, bring it over....
  7. Gorgeous! 'Nough said!!!!
  8. I will certainly take a close look even if I am not building it for a while. Most of the time I google info on the real car and add some notes for future ideas on how to approach certain issues that might come up. I also remove some parts on the trees to make sure I accommodate the model a little better in the box avoiding any warping of the body and large parts. On occasions, I have decided on building it because it generated enough interest.
  9. Would love to have MCM in digital form specially because I purchased a Nook Color and I am able to buy Scale Auto and Fine Scale magazine. I also have Car Craft and a few other subscriptions through my Nook. Best thing? I can carry thousands of magazines anywhere I go.
  10. Best advice I can give you is just to pace yourself, don't go too crazy and rush your builds just to see them completed, I think it's always the hardest thing to master when you are first starting out. Try your hand at simpler models and work your way up from there, in time I will guarantee you your skills will get much better.
  11. Very cool!

Very cool man, engine looks phenomenal!
  13. Very cool, color is gorgeous and paint is flawless. Not crazy about the size of the wheels/tires in the back but you did a terrific job, I love it!!!
  14. Amazing, I would just display it as is, only a resin caster can appreciate the work that went into this!

  16. Very nice kit!!! Hosted on Fotki It was actually the kit of the year when it came out.
  17. See if you can get Allstate involved and get your money back!!
  18. You are one of my favorite builders here my friend, fantastic job and of course, paint!
  19. You can get your brackets here!!! http://stores.scaledreams.com/-strse-57/Engine-Brackets/Detail.bok
  20. Welcome to the forum, just keep in touch, you will learn a lot here!!
  21. Cool, I am currently working with the settings of my new camera, I just purchased a new Canon T2i Digital SLR. I will have to sit back and study this thing since it has a million settings. I am actually working with similar settings but with a higher f stop (22). I still think I need a bit more light. What do you photography gurus think? Can you chime in and advice???
  22. I made my own light box with a bit of space I had on a shelf in the laundry room of my house. Went out to Lowe's and purchased some PVC pipes and connectors along w/ some lights for the side and top. Between the lights, PVC piping and white piece of cloth I paid no more than $30.00. Hosted on Fotki Here is a recent picture of a model when I first tried it out. I am in the process of purchasing a better camera. Hosted on Fotki Here is the '32 Ford you see in the light box from afar..... Hosted on Fotki I saw one that Micro Mark was also offering through their catalog, it looked similar to the one you purchased. I thought that with a little creativity you can save a bit more money, this is not to look down on your work or purchase, please do not misunderstand, we are here to help each other with our ideas. I will also let you know that if you go to You Tube, you will find a lot of ideas on how to build your own, this is what I did.
