Question about Johan Cuda
cruz replied to edward smith's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I do remember seeing one of the forum members here using the AMT '71 Charger to accomplish this, I thought it was Plumber, my boy from Australia, hopefully he can chime in and tell us what he did with his. Of course, the guys here on this thread have very good recommendations also... -
Jeff, to tell you the truth, I am enjoying these type of Muscle Car builds from you than the normal all out drag racing detailed builds you have us used to seeing. Then again, I love anything "Muscle Car"!!!! Keep us posted on this one, it's looking gorgeous!!!

Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki I decided to primer the hood with white and gray primer, I was doubtful about the shade of pink but I think it looks more correct using the gray primer, I thought it was too light with the white. Hi there guys, I have been building this model for the last few weeks and decided to share it with you all. It's an out of box, stock build, nothing special from the new Revell kit for a club member. He wants it in a Panther Pink shade just like the one on the box, R/T version. I will just add a few pictures of the build and show where I am at the moment with the build. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki I don't know how many of you have purchased this new kit but here are a few pictures of the contents of the box and some minor mockups of the fit which up until now is great!! I will be honest guys and by the way, thanks for the info but Harbor Freight doesn't sell high end quality tools, are you gonna trust your plastic in one of these things? Spend a little more and be safe..... Just my "dos centavos"

Always amazed with your work man, this thing is awesome and the photos are exquisite!!!

This is really cool John, I love these Impalas myself and have built 3 of them even though I have only kept one. Did you use Alclad chrome for the bumpers and inner fenders? If so, great job, it's hard to make these big parts look chrome when using Alclad but it seems you pulled it off!!

Still working with the stance, just wanted to show you guys the contrast between the rims and body.... Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

Sorry for the delay guys, I have been building a model for a friend of mine and it has taken some of my time. Anyway, I decided to go ahead and paint my rims this evening. I started by using Testor's Aluminum Metallizer paint but thought it wasn't reflective enough to give me that polished aluminum look I am going for. I had a bottle of Alclad Polished Aluminum paint but thought that it would come out too shiny or reflective. What I decided to do was to shoot it a bit heavier than normal, I think I like the way they came out!!! Thank you guys, I always welcome every suggestion, it's always the best way to learn. On the other hand, this is a 10 plus year old model, my skills were not as sharp in those days, I was still learning a lot.......

Thanks John. For the belt, I went to Wal-Mart and bought some surgical tape, I think that's what they call it. I then cut it to size and replaced the one from the kit. I think it looks pretty much to scale!

This is really cool John!!!

Completed this one a long time ago, just wanted to share it in this Drag section!!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

That's right Chris, no sealer, you don't need it. I have 8 year old builds in my collection and as long as you keep them away from dust, you will be good.... Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki This one I did for a friend about 5 years ago, no problems at all, still looks great!!! Hosted on Fotki

I am not much into big rims and low profile tires, specially on these type of cars, personally, I would go with something classic, you know, nice wide tires in the rear and skinnies in the front to ultimately give it a cool 70's street/strip kind of look. Nice project though!!!

Love it bro!!! I love station wagons, specially of this era!!

There is also the Central PA Model Car Club, we meet in York every 1st Saturday of the Month!!! I can guarantee you will like it but as Gregg says, the guys from Philly are also a bunch of great guys with lots of talent!!! I happen to know all of them very well!!! -
This is too cool brother, nice choice of wheels!!

I have one going to 6 years now, never replaced or added CO2, then again, I don't use it a lot, just as an emergency in case the lights go out or something. They truly are great and of course very silent, no need for water traps or anything like that. I am having a seminar this weekend on Alclading for the guys at my club and this is what I am taking with me!!
