Most Swoopy car to you ?

The cars are downright uncomfortable to drive as well. The MKZ is small and the MKS has issues with the waterfall console. Again this is good? G -
Most Swoopy car to you ?

As they say a camel is a horse designed by a committee. What are they thinking? Lincoln has an identity crisis now. With the demise of the Panther platform, theTown Car and the Crown Vic. are long gone. Mercury is history as is the Grand Marquis. Nothing left in the line up has anywhere near the appeal of the older models. Look at one current car and tell me what the target demographic is. Cadillac has added and added gee gaws and doo dads enough to make the space shuttle pilots think twice. Again whats their demographic? Old retired guys? Mob guys? Can't tell by looking. G -
Is our hobby, growing or skrinking?

No one yet has brought up "profit margin" as a deciding factor. Does anyone have figures? Do manufacturers profit and if so how much? G -

I agree. One or two minor body mods and it would be darn near perfect. G -
Moving your models?
Agent G replied to Dragfreak's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I wrapped each built model in paper towels and put it in it's own case. I put the cases inside a copy paper box and filled the open spaces with newspaper and wadded up plastic bags. I drove them myself the three days to my new digs. I had cars, tanks, ships and 120mm military figures. All came through with little reattachment of parts needed. Unbuilt kits were transported in Rubbermaid totes on the same trip. This trip was taken in February, 4 months before I actually retired to avoid heat issues. In fact it snowed in the Rockies so I took I 40 west. Even then it snowed in Flagstaff the day before I passed through. No heat related issues to report either. G -
I'm not talking about using a 3D graphics program to print. I'm saying place your item on a bed scanner, press send, and it prints out on the other end while the original stays right where it's at. That would be a logical next step. I don't think it is too far away. I have already taken a laser scan of an object, a skull and had it replicated in a 3D printer . The same scan was emailed to an anthropology lab where facial reconstruction was performed. Years ago I had to hand carry the carefully hand reproduced skull to the lab. The lab was in Colorado.......... G

1966 Mustang convertible By AMT/Round2?
Agent G replied to Mike Kucaba's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Schmitt was the only Rolls Royce dealer in the midwest for over two decades. Their original facility was on South Kingshighway in south St Louis. It had a showroom to die for. They out grew the place and moved to north county in the early 90's. If they had that car on consignment, it was perfect, not just showroom, perfect. That would be a great new tool kit. G -

Revell/Model King '57 Ford police cars
Agent G replied to charlie8575's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Mine will be a Chicago PD car. White roof, black body and red rotator. To be accurate it will look similar to this: CHICAGO 256 POLICE The word "Chicago" is in a semi circle over the car #. I just need someone with a ALPS printer to do it for me. G -

I just received mine in the mail and really haven't looked at it all that closely. I do like what I see so far. More tonight. G -
Yes all the time. I had received some incentive due to the release of several "holy grail" kits. The '50 Olds and the '90 Mustang LX allowed me the opportunity to build three cars I wanted for over 20 years now. Now that I'm done with those, although there are at least two more Mustangs planned, I find myself wandering around looking for inspiration. G

When my wife returned from Chicago she came bearing gifts! My beloved brother in law sent this kit Revell kit he bought at a car museum. I don't normally do factory stock cars and '57 Chevys arent my thing, but I gave it a whirl. This is the two in one with the large wheels and disc brakes molded to the axles. I decided a 50's turquoise would look good. MM Enamel Gloss White and Turquoise airbrushed over white primer. The interior is MM Turquoise with MM Graphite airbrushed on the patterned areas. More later. G
