  1. Fish tacos and Mai Tais? I'm enroute dispatch. G
  2. Charlie here's how I mocked up an underhood siren on a '49 Ford CHP car. It is a Lego piece as I recall. Here's a '53 Ford NHP car. This is a resin casting I made from the '70 LTD roof siren. G
  3. Thank you all! This kit is one of the most enjoyable builds I have had in a while. I've done two now and plan on at least two more. G
  4. Charlie by '57 they were using the single rotator on the roof and an underhood siren. My understanding is the front of the bubble is blue and the back red. It was sort of unique to the Mass State Police. http://mysite.verizon.net/vzeopzls/policecars/id11.html From the internet for discussion purposes only.
  5. X2 Love the color. G
  6. Life is hard, but it's a hell of a lot harder when you're stupid. Sgt John Stryker The Sands of Iwo Jima G
  7. Late 2008 I had set up an out of country gig as a PMC in A'stan. I was scheduled to leave Valentine's day '09 for a year. High six figure tax free instructor job, sort of hazardous, nothing a 50+ guy like me couldn't handle. Two weeks before leaving the country the State Dept. decided not to recognize the contracts, told us all we'd be considered ex-pat mercenaries and oh and, have a nice day. Two weeks after that I met the current MrsG, rescinded my resignation and have enjoyed life immensely. G
  8. I always felt the 2000-2005 Monte Carlo to be a disaster design wise. Then these are the same folks who introduced the 2000 Impala, talk about identity crisis. G
  9. My bad it was $8.50. Still thats a good deal and I'm going to pick up another for my grandson. G
  10. It only makes sense when you remember how many engines a B36 had, six 28 cylinder aircooled radials and four jet engines. So that's a minimum of 4 guages per radial and three per jet. It's still mind boggling. G
  11. No matter where you go, there you are. Buckaroo Banzai G
  12. Paraphrased the movie dialogue i did I did. G
  13. I like that Corey, might have to check out the HF version myself. Got notice my 57 Ford Police Car is enroute today. I also picked up an AMT Ford van kit for $6.50 at Hobby lobby. G
  14. Way back in '93 the Army National Guard was mobilized in St Louis due to extensive flooding. I was unfortunate enough to spend a week on the flood detail riding in a Hummer. OMG that was the most miserable uncomfortable stinky nasty ride I ever had. I couldn't wait to get out of thatr and back in a radio car. Hummers weren't around when I was in the Corps so it was truly a shock to see how bad this beast was. Heck I was more comfortable in an old M151, or a deuce and a half, or a five ton, or a gator, well you get the picture. As far as embarrasing rides go another copper and I were sent out of the valley on a run one night. We were given an admin pool car so it would get some miles. It was a Chevy Cobalt, white, no cop shocks, no cop motor, no cigarette lighter. 100 miles to Beatty Nevada, it was dark and the car sucked. Oh did I mention my partner that night is, oh, right around 6' 5"? G
  15. Since I mostly build 1/35 armor and 120mm figures, $50 is an average price per piece. I have found many many good kits in the $25-$30 range which fit my automotive needs. I have spent upwards of $90 on a resin kit or two or three....... G
  16. You could list Studebaker ............2 1/2 ton trucks that is............... G
  17. The term "homicide" has only one meaning. It ain't pretty. G
  18. If you work in a building, at some time, someone, somewhere, will add to the plethora of lines for telephones and computers. Make friends with the IT installers/building maintainence folks. You won't go wrong. G
  19. In 1992 I was on wife #2, child #2 was 5, and I had been a policeman for 13 years. Am I really that old? G
  20. CyberHobby 1/35th scale Opel 3ton truck. Paint and weathering pastels. G
  21. While I must agree with Harry that the '56 Chrysler 300 is a beautiful beautiful car, I always preferred this. 1956 Lincoln Continental Mk II. G
  22. Mine was white with red interior, 6 speed, and would really go if necessary. Trouble was it didn't look fast when parked...................... G
  23. Real nice. G
  24. Harry it's hard but if I had to pin point just one thing, the '90's vettes lacked "character". To me they were like every other American auto back then, punched out of the same mold so to speak. G
