  1. Jonathan if you want I believe I'll be down August 3. I'll bring it then. Testors has been putting some of the strangest colors in the small square bottles lately. Thats a good thing! This car took just at 3/4 of the bottle the way I thinned it. Fred thank you very much. I see the new NHP cars and SUV's every day and they really don't look as good anymore. This color scheme was a classic and, as previously mentioned, are the state colors.
  2. Buttoned her up this afternoon. Looking like a car now. G
  3. During joint ops with ICE and Border Patrol, I've seen Az DPS on the 95 in Henderson. That's a double take for sure. G
  4. It's hot, humid and MrsG doesn't return until tomorrow, so Bench Time! It needs a shotgun. Interior is complete. G
  5. Thank you all. I only owned one Mustang, it was a '68, and I only had it for a few months in '77. I left on my second cruise and sold it to another Marine. Never heard it's fate. I've been wanting another ever since. G
  6. What's funny is CHP didn't use radar until the early 90's. Until then state law prevented it's use. Rear facing antenna were more of a safety factor for the officer than anything else. The front antenna was on the push bumper of the 'stangs successor, the 9c1 Caprice. What's also funny is the fact NHP can "hide" while conducting speed enforcement. Have you travelled out here? In southern Nevada the visibility is mostly measured in tens of miles at ground level. Can you say hide in plain sight? Missouri makes no distinction on covert enforcement either. We parked on the shoulder, side street, alleys and hid. Of course urban police traffic divisions are quite a bit different from HPs. G
  7. 18 months for me now, used the ecig for about a month. MrsG said I could spend the money saved on models, and I do.................. G
  8. Yessir, deep under cover. G
  9. Worked a car bombing where we found the hood on an apartment complex roof,..........................down the block........................................ G
  10. This is the Revell kit that I posted wip pics of over a month ago. I finished her off during the hiatus. This is a Mustang done up the way I would own one. MM French Blue, kit stripes, wheels from a Dodge Challenger. No super detailing, just a shelf queen. G
  11. NICE! G
  12. Thank you sir! This was the end of my work week so I sat down and assembled all those little things I've been working on. I assembled the dash. Notice I added the upper level to the radio. Gotsta have radar out the back too. I worked on the light bar legs as well. G
  13. Dude you haven't hung it out unless you've surfed Nevada........................ G
  14. Oh Jeremy you sir have read my mind! #3 will indeed be a CHP 'stang. Then I may do a USAF chase car......................decisions decisions. G
  15. Jonathan that's straight out of a Testors little square bottle, bought at Hobby Lobby. The top is MM German Silver from the bigger bottle. I used MM thinner and my new Paasche Talon with the medium needle. Thank you John! G
  16. Excellant shots! Thank you sir! G
  17. That's a nice clean build there. Well done lad. G
  18. Yes please! That's a nice one. G
  19. Wow Jeff thanks for the link! I did a NHP '53 Ford using the Lindberg kit years ago before I moved to Nevada. Little did I know I'd be living in Henderson after I retired and working in the state office building along side Troopers and other DPS folks. G
  20. Thanks guys. Michael I am seriously waiting for those lenses to finish the other build. I so want to see that completed as it has been a dream of mine to build that car for years now. G
  21. Here's the scratchbuilt radio I forgot to post. Compare it to the photo of the real radio. I think it came out ok. G
  22. www.policecarmodels.com Search his decal page. G *edit* Thanks Fred!
  23. Tamiya just released a 1/32 F4U1 Corsair early model with the birdcage canopy. It looks spectacular and I can only assume from sprue shots a F4U1D with blown canopy is next. Trumpeter produces some awesome 1/32 scale fighters. Someone, I cannot remember who, just released a 1/32 B17. There are also a series of 1/32 B25's. Airfix has a 1/24 line up of airplanes the Spitfire and Hurricane are the first to come to mind. I built the original issue Spitfire decades ago and it was a doozy! Lotsa good stuff out there. G
  24. While waiting for the clear lenses to arrive for my Missouri Highway Patrol Mustang, I began the second in my series of builds. Nevada used a German Silver over Arctic Blue color for the cars for many years. The cars had the gray interior. They used the low profile Jetsonic lightbar in '92-'93. I modified a lightbar from a diecast Crown Vic., I added the speaker housing. Here's the real deal. Downloaded from the internet for discussion purposes only. G
  25. Good to meet you too sir! How'd you like the way this old MiB agent snuck up an ya? G
