I'm everywhere......................... G -
Remember SuperBowl XX? 1985? I bought a brand new VCR with a remote. Yes a remote! It had a cord, but an honest to goodness remote it was. I taped the game for posterity, as I knew this was one for the books. (record books, not sports books) Half way through the Bears rampage, the poodle began chewing on the remote cord. To this day I cannot fathom why, she had never chewed anything before or after. No no don't chew, go away. All I could conclude is that dog was posessed by the spirit of my then wife, now ex #2. Definately NOT the dogs fault. G

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
Agent G replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
I completed the interior today. The creature comforts of the original Silverado were retained, pun intended, however targeting, searching and tracking gear were installed. I visualize a time when an invasion will require a lot of civilian vehicles hap hazardly fitted with military gear. Here's the screen shot of the targets. This will be mounted on the roof. It's a remotely controlled FLIR, CCTV scanner unit. G -

Joker, color modulation is a way to paint a model to replicate light and shadow. Imagine the primered model sitting in the sun. Where would the light cast shadow and what would appear brighter? You also use it to add depth to flat panels. Prime dark, spray the base color just up to the edges, and sort of fog it over allowing the dark to just show through. Then lighten the base color and spray into the middle of the panel. This T34 is a good shot of the process on a turret. and the entire tank. Look at the different panels/hatches here. Notice the light and dark? This is after the final weathering. See the wheel hubs? They are lighter as well. G -
2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD

It's been a busy week, so posting pics of my progress was hard to do. Here's the body as it sits this morning. I chose colors that pay homage to the origin of the Apocalypse Movies, Australia. They are close approximations of the current Australian Army colors. I used Krylon Italian Olive as a base coat straight from the can. I then airbrushed MM Sand and flat black. I cut the enamel with laquer thinner and upped the psi for a "quick and dirty" spray job. Upcoming weathering will tie it all together. G -

Oh how happy I am to have spent another glorious day in the Marine Corps. Every day is a holiday, and every meal a feast. God bless my Drill Instructor, and God bless Chesty Puller whever he may be. The only good enemy is a dead enemy, Gung Ho, Ouahh Rahh, Aye Aye Sir! Semper Fi, do or die, hold em high at Eight and "I". It's been almost 40 years since MCRD, I will never forget, I will be forever faithful. I will be a Marine forever. Gray WE, Corporal, USMC MOS 0331, Machine Gunner. G -

A small block Chevy is as ubiquitious as it gets in the engine world. They made gazillions of them, all sorts of parts, and spares as well. Availability, weight, performance, all say SBC. G -
Ever Wonder What Flintstone's Top Fuel Studey Streamliner Looks Like Built?
Agent G replied to Danno's topic in Model Cars
A build? Ok what have you done with Danno? I really like it. The long low look really comes across. The colors suit it just fine too. G -
Beautiful! My second car was a '69 GSX. G

My daughter was building the old "Garbage Truck" as a haunted vehicle for a theme at a show. She took a can of red primer, silver and flat black, put the garbage truck portion on the floor, then sprayed randomly from shoulder height. She achieved a really neat looking "distressed" finish. She topped it off by drybrushing a mixture of testors chrome silver and gold enamel. G

Cool build. "Mafia Funeral" makes me think of the old joke. How many pall bearers at a Mafia funeral? One, the guy who shuts the trunk. Bada Boom Bada Bing. Thank ya thank ya verry much, I'm here all week. G Sorry, it's a Vegas thing.................................

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD

Wicked! Here's a little inspiration, rows and rows of these abandoned armored vehicles line the road as a windbreak. All these were left by the Russians, used by the Afgans, and abandoned here on the road outside Kabul. G -
Not necessarily. Some of my armor builds have literally hundreds of parts, many of which are really really small. I cut so a piece of the sprue can be used as a handle. Once the glue dries, I can sand or scrape the mold lines. Same with painting small parts, some are just easier to paint when attached to the sprue. You could cut it off, sand away the mold lines/attachment points, then how do you hold it for painting? I assemble entire engines, then paint it as a whole. G
