  1. No, no adjustable seats. The only reason we had power door locks, is those cars had cages for prisoner transport. We drove midsize cars as regular district cars, full size as "lock ups" and a van as a transport vehicle. In '83-84 district cars were Malibus, after that we drove Celebritys (yukk) until '87-'88. The first ever police car I drove with power everything, and honest to goodness CARPET, was a '93 Caprice. I had 14 years on by then. Not to hijack, but here's the car. We were told they were ordered by another high faluting PD on the east coast, which couldn't take delivery. I inherited that beast when I got made and transferred back to uniform. It was such a nice car we hid it from fleet services every time it was due to be rotated to the reserve fleet. G
  2. WHAT! Can't hear ya! My ears are ringing.......... It was a strange experience, everyone's screaming and running away from the scene, and I'm walking toward it. G
  3. Just go slow and keep checking the hole against the part. G
  4. I'm checking on all of you.................................... G
  5. I knew it. I always had my sources in fleet services. Good job on it. Question, the lighter color is "french blue" right? Its a sort of light blue gray? G
  6. The Chevrolet emblem resembles a bow tie, so say some, therefore an older Chevy is a "vintage bowtie". G
  7. Already got a kit picked out. Let the good times roll. G
  8. Unnoticed your efforts have not gone, young Jedi. Fine specimen there, give us more please. G
  9. Very nice build. Where'd you find the right colors? Department body shop maybe? MUCH more nimble. They were actually pretty good alley rats. In a congested urban area, take off and stop was more important than outright speed. These were though, ahem, slower, than the earlier Fury's. G
  10. Your "build", because that's what it is really, is very very nice. I actually thought the first pic was an old snapshot. We drove those pigs in '83. I have always wanted to build a replica of it though. Oh the memories. We called them ghost cars, the electric locks would just start cycling at random as you drove down the street. Annoying as heck. Nobody riding passenger could catch any zzzz's on the night watch. G
  11. Buy some 1/16th inch basswood, layer two sheets together, cut out shape and sand to your hearts content. Use a piece of sheet plastic for the fin. You can make a bunch boards for not much money. The pics aren't about the board, but that's how I did this one. G
  12. I was the Bomb and Arson guy ............remember? :D G
  13. You could build it that way, set it on fire, and call it the General Sherman. G
  14. Dragon Models Limited (China) has some of the best styrene going as far as armor is concerned. It is a joy to work with. I recall a Polar Lights '04 GTO kit that was molded in black. I used the interior and engine in another car, and it was like sanding vinyl. It responded well to liquid cement, but man I'm glad I didn't have any body work. G
  15. Flip that MoFo 90%, and convert the recoil cylinder to a scope. Now you have a side fed .50cal sniper rifle. Yes, I am a mind reader, that's what agents do............................. G
  16. Ditto, a 50's era build demands a Hemi! G
  17. I believe thats a 1/35th scale 20mm FLAK gun. In 1/24th or 1/25th it looks like a .50 cal spotting rifle from an old 106mm recoiless rifle. Put that on a bipod, add a pistol grip, trigger, and a butt stock and you'll have a great post apocalypse weapon, redneck style. G
  18. It looks as if you were up for the challenge. Good job. G
  19. www.policecarmodels.com Look in accessories for 1/25th scale weapons. One of the many versions of MPC's jeep, I'm thinking "Hogans Heroes" had a .50 cal MG. G
  20. Yes, sorry I should have been more specific. We rode as much as possible, the rules were windchill and wet pavement. That meant late December-late March was spent in a car. G
  21. Here's a few more. G
  22. I could have retired 5 years ago and not gone back to work, darnit! G
