  1. Oh yeah that's what I'm talking about. Nicely done. What was Silly Putty like to work with? Did it come off easily after painting? Did youhave to touch up a lot? Sorry for all the questions. I have one nearing the painting stage, and I think this might be a method I can use for the camo. G
  2. Very classy. G
  3. Oh Lordy don't let my bean counters see either one of these. I had an experience with a beatman's Segway one night after work. Darn things are dangerous......... G
  4. Currently 68 here in Sin City under sunny skies. Humidity is 28% and the winds are from the east at 6mph. Viva Las Vegas! G
  5. Hang tough shipmate. G
  6. Here's a Bullit I did two years ago. I must confess I used MM British Racing Green, and added a dab of black. How does this compare with the actual factory color? G
  7. I love the AT 11. Looking forward to the whole diorama. G
  8. 1949 was the first year for not only electronic sirens, but the advent of the rotating beacon. In 1949 the St. Louis Police Department was first using ink pens, having finally exhausted their supply of stone tablets................... G
  9. Resin trans kit. G G
  10. By the end you'd get a D-9 like Art described due to the fact it had been built in sub sections by semi skilled laborers. They would be scattered all over the country side hiding and building their section as best they could. Those different sections would eventually come together as one airplane. G
  11. George, Neal was a Motor Transport Corporal. Drove deuces and 5 tons, in fact that's how he came to be in Khe Sahn. He was short and "volunteered" for one last trip. They went to Dak To immediately after being relieved, so say mid '68. I remember he got back to the world in the winter of '68. I was 12 at the time, and so it wasn't until later that we spoke of the experience. G
  12. Mike, Tamiya's prices darn near doubled over the last year. New releases are now just as, if not more, expensive than DML, Tasca, Hasegawa, or Trumpeter. It used to be a newbie armor builder bought a few relatively cheap Tamiya kits at first. After feeling comfortable they then invested a few more $$ for a newer tool, more accurate (read complicated) kit. There's no difference in price anymore, yet Tamiya's kits stand the test of time as far as I'm concerned. G
  13. DSC in April is firmly planted on my "to do" list. And yes Saint Mary of Gray will be accompanying me. For some srtange reason she likes you, and all the other degenerates we know. G
  14. '62 Pontiac Catalina with 421 SD engine. It was originally white with green interior and was painted that awful GM lt metallic green somewher along the line. I was on Okinawa and Dad sent a letter saying some guy wanted it. I said sell her, and bank the money. G
  15. Nice, real nice. G
  16. Oh those Fords were, were, well, lets politely say, they were softly sprung. I was way up on the river route on the north side when we got a hot call down in the residential part of the district. The copper behind me backed off when I got air. I backed off when I landed. Darn Ford wallowed around so bad I thought I was going in the Mississippi. G
  17. My first assigned car was a '78 Fury with the 440. It had been recycled from Traffic to the District fleet. Yeah, give a 23 year old newbie the fastest car in District 6. Hoo boy I had fun, until they decided it was better off assigned to the desk nerds. Then they gave me a '78 Ford Galaxy, with a 400 sumpin' CI engine. Those were the days. G
  18. Sweet build Nick. You really carried this out well. Danno, MSP still uses the STOP sign on the hood. G
  19. Sweet! If I'm not mistaken I saw the real deal driving around the boonies outside Searchlight NV. G
  20. Fall, what we call fall here anyway, is the best time to paint. The humidity rises from say 5% to about 25%-30% which makes painting perfect. Yard work is practically non existent in the desert, especially now so I get plenty of time to piddle. I usually build from the stash all winter and regroup (buy) in the summer. Late December early January gets a bit chilly and wet, but the daylight hours are fine. It snowed here in '08, and that REALLY messed peoples minds up. All in all not a bad place to live weather wise. If nothing else, I'll travel to Phoenix and harrass Danno more often. G
