  1. The overall build, while not in my area of interest, is stunning. It's amazing to me now that it's finished I hardly notice the side vent issue previously discussed. Something about the way the louvers are mounted made the seemingly strange vertical arrangement not so noticible any more. You did a very, very, good job at turning 2D artwork into 3D art. G P.S. I think you may have wussed out on the color though. Should be brighter like Danno mentioned.
  2. I love the build! I'm seriously thinking "hearse" for this. What's the web site? G
  3. Pimp my Batmobile! It's a bit too tall, but hey when you're dealing with what's normally known as a TV icon, what else can ya do? G
  4. Ditto all the above Duhhh duhhh uhh, points and drools, ohhh FUN! (insert brain freeze smiley here) G
  5. If they would have called it a Monaco, I wouldn't have begun to think about it and might have even bought one. Having driven the car I agree it's a good platform albeit with some shortcomings. I did think it was not entirely suited as a police car, but I was spoiled by a 9C1 Caprice back in the day, and that my friends is a benchmark that has never again been reached. MrsG wants a Camaro, I'm leaning towards a Mustang GT. My bro in law has a Challenger. I like the new Challenger yet admit "something" is missing from that equation. I don't dwell on the past, and like Bill would own a vintage car if it were something I could drive only on certain occasions. My neighbor has one of the few remaining '48 Ford woody's in the world and even he has stopped going out on Sundays with it. Hell he used to travel in it, now it's stored in it's own climate controlled garage. I have even parked the vintage (sort of) BMW motorrad for the time being. We can only dream.................... G
  6. Not while my people are around................................... G
  7. I've been wanting a '49 or '50 Olds forever. G
  8. There are some good places in the Las Vegas area besides Hobby Town USA (Sahara/Decatur). Henderson Hobbies on Water St. in Old Town Henderson is a must just to meet the cranky old guy who owns the place. Dansey's (E Charleston/Lamb) Is a good old fashioned LHS. For the airbrush I'd go with Desert Art Supply, two locations in the valley, and they have everything as far as supplies. G
  9. I'll be watching. This is one of my favorite subjects. G
  10. They spent to much time building these: Now that's "tread". G
  11. Here's the latest from the tank factory. Tamiya's old King Tiger, wearing the markings of sPzAbt 503, or Heavy Tank Battalion 503. All the zimmerit, or texture, on the sides is Eduard PE affixed with Gator Glue. Tamiya paint thinned with Home Despot generic medium drying laquer thinner. Zimmerit was a anti magnetic concrete like coating which prevented magnetic mines from sticking. Not like you'd want to run up to this beast to blow it up............. G
  12. Nice clean build! Now that brings back memories. I bought a one year old '75 Road Runner in San Diego. I paid $3800 and traded in my gas hog '71 Riviera. All you old guys remember the gas crisis in the mid 70's when prices shot to an astounding $1.25 a gallon? Where'd you get the promo?
  13. We have the related issues out west. McCarran Airport is jam packed with folks who's flights were cancelled as airlines grounded planes. 12 hour delays are about the norm as of today. I could think of worse places to be delayed than Las Vegas. All you folks back east stay safe now, hear? G
  14. The Marines call it a CH 46, "Sea Knight" AKA Pfrog. The Army's is a CH 47, Chinook, AKA $#!t Hook. Both are built by Boeing, yet they are two different airframes. A kit of either should fit the bill. G
  15. My dehydrator is called the Mojave. I set the body on my patio table for a few hours and voila' baked enamel finish. G
  16. Oh we could use these at the I 15 /I 95 interchange, commonly referred to as the "spaghetti bowl". BTW what's "rain"? G
  17. 1963 Chevy II, six cylinder, four doors, power nothing. Our driveway sloped down toward the street. I'd hop in, put her in neutral and roll backwards into the street. I'd start the car and motor merrily away. I was 12. G
